While this beautiful home is about to go down under the forces of Mother Nature, we are going to explore it together today before it's history forever.
Built in 1788, this is a real hidden gem in the forest, which has not been penetrated by human mankind for years.
We are one of the first visitors after the former residents left the property for what it is in 2005.
Let me take you into the intriguing story of Marc and Odette. A couple, that provided for their lives in the French countryside through rice cultivation. After a fulfilling life in which they traveled extensively in their spare time, they grew older and their health deteriorated. Based on X-rays, we conclude that both suffered from health problems in their thoracic region, after which they departed this earth and left the property behind for good a vast 16 years ago.
As time went on, the property was forever forgotten in the barrier of trees and greenery that's surrounds it.
Today we'll take a glance inside their former home, which now stands as a monument of their past life.

Amazing to know that these homes are not burglarized and squatters move in. Be so very careful with the black mold. It could damaged your lungs forever. I just bought my first house Six weeks ago. A 1900 victorian in an area of derelict disgrace for many falling homes on the Chesapeake bay peninsula. My mother in her sixties adores you guys and I got into you, and told her, but she was already well knowledgeable with my parents own 1850 about a half hour from me. I love watching you guys and I'm a huge history and antique freak raised by my nerdy parents that way. Ive been getting the greatest original design ideas from you guys. It's a shame we can't somehow save them all. Thanks for all you do and respecting history and culture. I've always had dreams of a southern mansion or castle someday, but for now just a single girl beachy bay cottage. Keep up the good work! Stay safe out there!!! Blessed be!

This was a gem of a find. In earlier times it would have been gorgeous and warm. It seems like there were no children. I would say with all those films they were monitoring a condition. Their taste in antiques was great. Really glad you got to give it a well-deserved documentary. 👏 We in America call that musical instrument an Accordian too.

The couple obviously had very poor health. COPD came to my mind also. I lost my Father to emphysema and heart failure. I too have the same condition.

What a stunningly beautiful little home. The woodwork in this French cottage is just incredible, that grandfather clock, the bed, chairs etc. all very pretty. Shame it’ll all fall under nature but this is what happens.

Wow! just to get to this quaint adorable little home was an adventure! ..a lot of romantic poetry around the home..I can imagine the love and joy that took place in this lovely home tucked away surrounded by lots of trees and greenery..1788 and it still looked pretty good considering all the decaying that's taken over..another great find! OMG WOW! First of all, the intro is bomb like always, the way you narrate it, the cinematics, your words, voice and the music!!!! Good choice 😍😍😍 it took me to another world and made me emotional ❤ What a funny way to enter a house hahaha! I love the bamboo forest, and the house!!! The pure definition of beauty of decay is this house! And that's what i call real time capsule 😍😍😍 Like legit no one was here but u after the owners! Everything was left like it was, the memories and everything! The natural decay is amazing , the spider webs, the wallpapers peeling, dust and mold. That's art. I'm glad u were wearing a mask btw! That's an amazing house, it used to be really nice back in the days, and now despite it left abandoned, it became better and better! One of the best and special houses in France ❤ And btw , don't feel sorry for breaking something, you just didn't do it on purpose, we all know how respectful you are towards the house and owners, so that's okey it happens!! 😁🥰 And on that thing that is written lion and poisson on it, i guess they were describing the leo and pisces horoscope. Two things that caught my attention in this video one was the wallpaper firstly in the bedroom then the hallway and in the dining living area grew with these designs and patterns in many houses here in NZ. another object that took my interest I'm unsure I could be wrong but I'm curious that while Maureno mentions the coats hanging up this is a question Would the Green Hat next to it happen to be a 'beret'? my elderly Uncle had a friend who gave him a Green Beret when they both served in the War in exchange of friendships across the waters, my Uncle said. This reminded me of that! Another great walk through thanks Maureno!

Hola Maureno !! Me sorprendió esta exploración desde el despertar en la tienda, la caminata en medio de la naturaleza y la entrada triunfal a la casa 🤭 gracias por compartir los entretelones, se siente como participar en una verdadera aventura.
Sin duda Odette y Mark, se amaron y formaron un bello hogar en esa casa tan antigua y tan típica en la campiña francesa, nuevamente podemos ver ese estilo inconfundible que se repite, pero que no deja de sorprendernos.
Mis favoritos son los dormitorios, porque en ellos se conservan de mejor manera los bellos muebles de madera y el papel tapiz.
Se han fijado que en las casas francesas nunca faltan los relojes con sus muebles decorados, en este caso justo donde colapsó el techo, los espejos con marco dorado y la infaltable caja de costura 😍

Yo puedo entender el inglés, puedo leerlo, pero se me dificulta hablarlo, pero estoy estudiando, por ejemplo me acostumbré al timbre de voz de Maureno y le entiendo gran parte de lo que relata y cuando no están disponibles los subtítulos en español, pongo los subtítulos en inglés que TH-cam entrega y así voy entendiendo un poco más.

This was a really beautiful vid - thank you so much! The lavishly carved & typically French timber furnishings were very ornate for a farmhouse, but perhaps not for the period and heritage of the home? I do love how passionate you are whether you are showing us a grand castle or a relatively modest farmhouse such as this, but I particularly admire how respectful you always are, Maureno ... This was once these people's pride and joy, and you honour them with your gentle touch and heartfelt respect in bringing them back to life .. And in return I have the greatest admiration for you and for what you do : ) Thank you!

Maureno you hit it out of the ballpark again! This was such a great find. I can’t believe that place is as old as it is. I loved the sunporch and the observatory in the back. It must’ve been beautiful at one time. When you find these places and they are so remote I wonder how the people get their food and supplies. How did they survive out there by themselves? Here in central Indiana we have many refugee families who could use the dishes, pots, and pans as well as clothing. How do we let family members know that is a choice rather than fighting until everything is reclaimed by nature?
