But it would take just a simple reminder of what Lhikan sacrificed himself for to make Vakama sober up and be more patient with his teammates. I still think the main problem is how Roodaka was handled, if we gonna go that road of toa metru turning hordika, Roodaka should've done something far more smart. The toa didn't know she was leading the visorak, so she could've ordered Sidorak to poison toa with hordika venom and then come to their rescue herself, pretending that she's just a random girl on their side and wants to take down the evil king Sidorak. That way she could've earned toa's trust to harvest their powers for freeing Teridax and slowly bring discord to their unity, manipulating Vakama, or Matau, setting them against one-another. Eventually they would realise she's using them and bring her down, but by that time it it'd be too late. At least that way she'd have more ways to influence all the toa and make them drop their guard, so she could twist their ideals and make some of the toa think that leaving matoran in Metru nui is a better option, or something like that, or that toa shoudn't give up their powers for waking up the matoran. So you could justify all the conflicts in the team by Roodaka being too deceiving and good of an actress, taking advantage of toa's desperation to turn back normal. (Lol and to think I'd wanna redeem her character anyway, but I think i know a way to do it more naturally. If she doesn't immideately changes, but kinda reflexes on her actions a little in the pit with Brutaka and other minor villains, blames Teridax for her misery, then pretends she's a good girl now, so she could be sent to a redemption mission and help spoil Teridax's plans, but after meeting the Mata Nui on Bara Bagna slowly admits her past mistakes, starts to realise that maybe it's better to let go of her past self and really change )

Agori and glatorian do have the capacity for romantic feelings because they are organic beings who reproduce biologically, and existed for millennia prior to the existence of the Matoran Universe. Besides, not allowing romance means BIONICLE got to skip a lot of the useless love triangles and other plotlines that other kid franchises /love/ to pursue, just look at Ninjago.

Also, Sidorak and Roodaka are two separate species and most of what we see between them is from the Miramax movies. The Miramax movies are some sort of loose canon, and romantic stuff got added in because movie. Greg has said himself that "marriage" within the Matoran Universe was a power agreement rather than a romantic thing. The Miramax movies being soft-canon is also why Matau tells Nokama that he would go on a "romantic drive-fly" with her. It was added in because "haha kids movie-" it's a non-canon exchange. Lastly, just because one franchise has certain natural laws does not mean every similar franchise must adhere to those same laws.

Also, Sidorak and Roodaka are two separate species and most of what we see between them is from the Miramax movies. The Miramax movies are some sort of loose canon, and romantic stuff got added in because movie. Greg has said himself that "marriage" within the Matoran Universe was a power agreement rather than a romantic thing.
The Miramax movies being soft-canon is also why Matau tells Nokama that he would go on a "romantic drive-fly" with her. It was added in because "haha kids movie-" it's a non-canon exchange.
Lastly, just because one franchise has certain natural laws does not mean every similar franchise must adhere to those same laws.
