A joint team of CM flying squad and Gurugram police busted a fake call centre late last night and nabbed nine accused, including two Delhi residents who own this fake call centre, said police.
The fake call centre was allegedly duping US nationals on pretext of providing 9,000 to 34,000 dollarsgrantand deducting 200 to 1,600 dollars from their Google cards in Crypto currency. Police have recovered Rs 1.5 lakhs cash, four laptops and 3 CPUfrom their possession. An FIR has been registered at cybercrime police station under Sections of cheating and IT act.

Vietnam, Philippines, Bangladesh and many other countries are taking advantage of this thing and expanding their own operations. Many years ago I joined this so called call centre without knowing the business nature. I was in college and just wanted to make some money. 2 days on the job I got to know the nature of it and I immediately quit it without giving notice. There was something I didn't like at all about it. My conscience didn't allow it. Fortunately the call center got shut down after few days.

I live in Canada and I receive 3 to 4 calls on average in a week about my unpaid taxes and some other crimes. These assholes fool some seniors and get a money out from their pocket. Shame on these frauds.

This happens a lot in Kolkata. Once i joined a call centre job in kolkata and found that it was fraud call centre who calls US people and tell them * Hi, i am calling from techy department of Microsoft, there is a virus in your computer system* and ask them to buy anti virus from sharing there screen. I felt very guilty after seeing what people are doing there. That was my first and last day there. I left saying that i would never want to join this fraud type job.

Majority of spam calls comes from Delhi zone , Haryana esp. Gurugram, Gujarat zone also, Andhra pradesh also. So all govt and police dept should take these as a serious note. Through these calls , they are spamming and calling ..sending receiving otp's . And all scams occure there after. From here a part of cyber crimes also appear.

I'm a Filipino who met an Indian guy when I went to Singapore. After talking to this Indian guy, I learned that India and Philippines have a lot of similarity when it comes to corrupt government. A lot of professionals in both country but lacks opportunity that's why they are resorting to scamming foreigners. I know they shouldn't do this but when it comes to poverty, being kind is the least thing you'll have in mind especially when your living on these parts of the world. Indian government should do their part, stop being fucking corrupt and give them opportunity or else they'll just resort into these kinds of job
I don't know about Philippines but in India there are lots of job in genuine call centre but they don't want to work there because they care getting good money here. Call centre in India pay good salary. So it's not because of poverty but for greed.
Don't compare your government system with Indian government.
Indian government is divided into two Central and State government.
People are categorized according to their mother toung , malayalam for Kerala state, marathi for Maharashtra state (Mumbai, Pune etc.), Tamil for Tamil nadu state, Kannada for Karnataka state (Bangalore, Mangalore etc)......, goes on for 28 states different languages and cultures.
These states, each one is controlled and ruled by their own elected political chief minister.
And the central government ""CANNOT" directly interfere in state government's affairs due to ""FEDERAL SYSTEM " , not only democratic and secular.
So these scammers are to be traced down by the state government's police from where the complaint has raised.
If state government has failed only then the case is handover to the central intelligence agency like CBI/ED(enforcement directorate).
When you say "India's government" , it directly affects the central government who only interfere when the state is failed.
Primarily its the state government's responsibility to protect the public of their respective peoples. Those government ministers are elected by their local people, so the blame firstly goes to the people who are encouraging these culprits indirectly.
Present central government is strictly strong and strategic and patriotic. As per "Right to information" act you can also ask and get the information and progress of the required department.
Please know about India and their systems.

A lot of the young people are involved in such scam centres nowadays and the reach is almost in every city in India. Its doesn't matter whether you are educated or not. Its the thinking what makes you who you truly are. I don't think you can change someone's behaviour just by giving motivation speeches. Shame on these people. I live in NZ recently got a call from India about winning lottery. He wanted my bank account details etc.... sounded Indian but conversation in English. He had a mate so both started the story in between had Hindi language. I do understand Hindi but not fluent but upon asking questions they got angry and started swearing.

I got scammed once while trying to purchase a second hand phone from olx. Later I found out the scammers location was at gurugram. Happy to see them being apprehended even though they might not be the same scammers. The despair I felt that day, I have no pity for these scammers

Boycott the ISP's and Telephone Carriers --> Cancel Your Landline Service. When telephone carriers stop allowing calls with SPOOFED CALLER ID through, these calls will cease. There was no spoofing on copper wire (POTS lines) back in the 80's & 90's. Only when the vulnerable "VOIP" service was developed did this technical loophole rear its ugly head. The old POTS lines were totally secure, had crystal-clear audio and zero latency (delay). Today's telecom carriers are in on this scam. They make money routing the calls. These billion-dollar corporations have the technology to filter out caller-id spoofing and prevent these calls from ever reaching you. But they don't. They often don't even take the small expense to provide a CNAME lookup, and only provide you with a city and state on the caller id, instead of a company or individual's name. That's irresponsible. I want to see the TRUE caller ID of every call that terminates on my premises, or the country of origin at the very least (i.e. "INDIA") so I can take appropriate measures to block these calls with my own hardware/software. It's time to boycott all ISP's and telephone carriers who permit falsified caller id. I get 20 calls a day from these Indian MOFO's. Indian cops are on the take (they get PAID by the Call Centers) - that's why they don't bust the centers. And taking down the open-source Asterisk PBX software worldwide would be another step in the right direction. The Asterisk dialer is a big link in the spoofing chain. STOP SPOOFING NOW!
