The late 60s were not Joan's best career period, but you can tell from the applause that regardless of everything, she was still a star and her audience still loved her. She became a star during the late 20s and remained one till the end of her days. RIP to such a beautiful soul.
I love how Joan really let’s go during the brief dance sequence- just watch her face. You can tell she feels totally free. She was a dance champion before movies having won so many silver cups- it was her way of exposing herself to Hollywood producers at night clubs. I wish they had let her dance longer. She is the definition of STAR.
I remember the anticipation I had when I knew Joan was going to be on Lucy's show. I was only 16 when my mother and I sat down to watch this. My God! Lucy AND Joan Crawford! It didn't get much better than that for this star struck kid! Thanks, Byran, this brought back so many memories! Funny, Joan is younger in this show than I am now.
I never realized how petite Joan Crawford was until I saw her in this clip! It makes her seem even more powerful when you think of the performances that came out of such a small woman. Incredible.
The over-the-top reaction of Lucy and Vivian to the realization that the woman they were talking to was none other than Joan Crawford shows how enormously famous Crawford was even in the 1960s.
I'm a 90s baby and nowhere near the age to watch Joan in her prime. But I do really enjoy coming onto TH-cam to see clips of her films and other work. She was so watchable, even Here ar the end of her career. Bless her. A true star !! ❤
She is clearly Sober, Alone in the world & Enjoying being wanted! Hollywood Joan deserve's full respect! These ladies gave there best to make us All feel good! I remember how excited Mom & Nana were to see this episode. Thanks for the wonderful memories💥
Couldn't find this on the Hulu, thank you for posting. Any Lucy Show with both Viv and Gale is a treasure (Oh look, it's the Smothers Mothers!) and Joan Crawford is game. A fine episode
I was so little when i saw this. I knew Joan Crawford was a big star, adored by my Mom and Nanny- i just now realized she was doing her signature Charleston.
My grandma is a fan of joan, she always told us of how great and glamorous the woman is. Now, that i'm in fashion school- i come to succumb how truly glamorous she is. And now- i scour all her old films.
Even though Joan Crawford was taking fewer and fewer rolls after 1960, she was still Academy Award worthy in "Whatever Happened To Baby Jane?" from 1962. I think she really aged well until her death in 1977. I was 16 years old when she died and so saddened to hear of her passing. Joan Crawford was truly a Movie Star.
Hey TCCOC.....thanks once more for another HD video. I have seen this before but not in this great quality. Please please please keep the videos coming!!!!!! GOD BLESS!!!!!!!!!!!
Gale Gordon brings his A game for this one. I think he enjoyed a chance to work with Joan Crawford. As a radio guy, their paths had probably never crossed. Watch Joan's eyes as she's dancing, she looks 40 years younger.
5:40-5:49 Some member of the crew is poking a white stick out from behind the door; I'm surprised Lucy (ever the perfectionist) didn't spot it and ask for a retake.
Great fun! I think JC held her own in this episode. Reports of her being drunk and putting in a bad performance are grossly exaggerated. She did the best she could with a mediocre script.
She certainly doesn't come off as a "child abuser" here does she. Kind of reminded me of Bette Davis in this episode. Loved seeing her with Lucy and Ethel . Great job Joan!
She was never a child abuser ... Christina her daughter, was a liar .. joan other daughters sued Christina and won for lying, and Christina made a whole career and money 💰 for making those lies
Forgive me for inquiring, but....did Vivian state: "Well, pull my weasel" at 18:35 ?????? If she actually said that, than this has truly proved that times sure have changed! Please....someone please reply back what Vivian really said.
No, I re-watched, and I think she said 'Boll my Weevil!' which is a reference to the insidious boll weevil insect pest that destroyed thousands of dollars of cotton crops in the south, back in the day. This is just a cutesy, funny response to 'Cynthia's' heavy southern accent and 'struggling belle' character.
The late 60s were not Joan's best career period, but you can tell from the applause that regardless of everything, she was still a star and her audience still loved her. She became a star during the late 20s and remained one till the end of her days. RIP to such a beautiful soul.
No one did it like Joan ..a true movie star ⭐
I love watching Vivian Vance in action. Her comic timing and punch line deliveries were superb. She was indeed beautiful and talented.
Was born in the 60s and miss this era of wholesome TV 📺 entertainment
I love how Joan really let’s go during the brief dance sequence- just watch her face. You can tell she feels totally free. She was a dance champion before movies having won so many silver cups- it was her way of exposing herself to Hollywood producers at night clubs. I wish they had let her dance longer. She was doing a great job in the dance sequence! It appears that Lucy wasn't going to give her more than 4 seconds of air time looking fantastic. 😞
I remember the anticipation I had when I knew Joan was going to be on Lucy's show. I was only 16 when my mother and I sat down to watch this. My God! Lucy AND Joan Crawford! I don't care what people say Joan Crawford was one classy act to follow! God bless you Joan now and always, ✝️
And do beautiful!
I never realized how petite Joan Crawford was until I saw her in this clip! It makes her seem even more powerful when you think of the performances that came out of such a small woman. Incredible.
I know right!!
her confidence allways made her come across as statuesque ! this was the first time I realised how small she was ❤
Vivian has some fabulous lines/moments in this! "We could use a man in any situation"
AND her fabulous pink jacket at the end!
The over-the-top reaction of Lucy and Vivian to the realization that the woman they were talking to was none other than Joan Crawford shows how enormously famous Crawford was even in the 1960s.
Joan Crawford was awsome as always - it must be the hardest part in the world to play yourself - some actresses wouldnt have the courage to do it
This should have a million views. People don’t know
I'm a 90s baby and nowhere near the age to watch Joan in her prime. But I do really enjoy coming onto TH-cam to see clips of her films and other work.
She was so watchable, even Here ar the end of her career. Bless her. A true star !! ❤
I forgot how funny they all was may they all rest in peace!
She's so adorable in this!
Remembering seeing this when it first aired: Priceless.
Great episode. Realise how petite Crawford was when see her here. Magic of cinema suggests she's towering.
OMG, I am in heaven, Joan was my favorite 😍 actress growing up in the 50's. Add Lucy and Ethel...gold!!!
The actor who played Joan's agent Lou would also play Marlo Thomas' father on 'That Girl!"
He played a Lou in that show also, Lou Marie. His real name is Lew Parker.
That Girl was filmed at DESILU
There's something wonderful about watching Joan cleaning. Her "Labor of Love." And Lucy looks great in her mod white jacket and boots.
im cracking up the whole time omg i miss Ethel and Lucy!!
She is clearly Sober, Alone in the world & Enjoying being wanted!
Hollywood Joan deserve's full respect!
These ladies gave there best to make us All feel good!
I remember how excited Mom & Nana were to see this episode.
Thanks for the wonderful memories💥
I miss Lucy and Ethel so much. These two were great together. TV today is not near as good as it used to be...sigh.
Awww watching Joan Crawford is such a delight. This was hilarious. Loved it..❤️❤️
So many big stars reunited just for us, what a time was this. I simply just loved it.
Those were the days 🤩
Omg two of my favorite actresses together Lucy and Joan I grew watching both I’m now 46 and they still are my favorite 🤗💝😍
She is timeless magical beauty 🥰😭
Lucy,Vivian, and Joan were so beautiful; they were all so talented that it's easy to forget how gorgeous they were!
That was so fun to watch! Even just the music brings me back to my childhood! Thinking about my parents & older sisters now❤️❤️❤️
Vivian Vance just had that magic about her she was really a fine actress funny and talented.
Have loved this episode, since I was a child. She looks so happy in the scene where she dancing with Gale Gordon. Thank you for sharing this.
Possibility the best actress of all time!
Every one need to be kind to the late lovely Joan Crawford.she was a movie Queen and she was kind heart ed.
I had a friend who knew her he said she was the sweetest woman u would ever met I tend to just love her❤
She will Always be ICONIC Bravooo Miss Crawford 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Couldn't find this on the Hulu, thank you for posting. Any Lucy Show with both Viv and Gale is a treasure (Oh look, it's the Smothers Mothers!) and Joan Crawford is game. A fine episode
I was so little when i saw this. I knew Joan Crawford was a big star, adored by my Mom and Nanny- i just now realized she was doing her signature Charleston.
the good ole days
This brought back so many memories. Daytime TV . The Lucy show holds up well. This episode made me laugh.
My grandma is a fan of joan, she always told us of how great and glamorous the woman is. Now, that i'm in fashion school- i come to succumb how truly glamorous she is. And now- i scour all her old films.
“Bless her soul she still has a little lemonade left” HAHAHAHAHAHA
This is one of my all times favorite episodes and man Joan truly was beautiful
This was such a cute episode!
Thank you. This was so cool to watch.
I don’t think I ever saw this before. It was great!
My GAWD! I saw this episode years ago! But never HD!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH! ❤
I absolutely love and adore Joan ❤
This was one of the funniest episodes🤣😂🤗 I Love Lucy🙏🏼💝
Love this episode of "The Lucy Show"... Joan Crawford still looked beautiful... :)
When TV was awesome.
Thank you for sharing. I loved the cute smiles on JC's expressions. Simply adorable!
2023 watching this show
Brilliant Thankyou!
Such a wonderful episode. Thank you so much for uploading. 💗
Ooo my so wonderful to see true talent!
Joan was a tremendous actress.
Joan looks lovely.
Even though Joan Crawford was taking fewer and fewer rolls after 1960, she was still Academy Award worthy in "Whatever Happened To Baby Jane?" from 1962. Hey TCCOC.....thanks once more for another HD video. I have seen this before but not in this great quality. Please please please keep the videos coming!!!!!! GOD BLESS!!!!!!!!!!!
This was so great! Thank you for sharing!
Joan looked stunning in this episode.
Love this
What fun. I remember seeing this when it first aired. Thank you for that trip into the past.
What a FUN show to watch. Thanks to the uploader! 🎉😂
Memories.....light the corners of my mind......
I enjoyed that !
I saw this in reruns. (I was born in '68) My parents told me who she was. I saw Milred Pierce a few years later and loved it.
Thanks for sharing such a lovely episode. Lucy shows were really good. Appearance of Joan Crawford was wonderful.
Wow nice thanks,
Omg I laughed all the way through 😆! Great entertainment can span the ages 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Gale Gordon brings his A game for this one. I think he enjoyed a chance to work with Joan Crawford. As a radio guy, their paths had probably never crossed. Watch Joan's eyes as she's dancing, she looks 40 years younger.
loved it! thank you so much!!!
I always liked the later Lucy show better than the earlier one, and this episode with Joan Crawford is excellent 💜
That green and gold 20s dress. 😻
Joan Crawford was still so attractive and talented!
Very funny! I love Joan! (and Lucy, Viv and Gale, of course)
Fabulous!!
Evil Joan? Where evil Joan?
I've never thought she was evil. Troubled, perhaps. But not evil. She looks so happy when she's received to applause.
Them haters will find anything to justify themselves, even if it doesn't make sense.
The gasp from the woman in the audience when Joan turns around during her first scene. She literally took people’s breath away.
5:40-5:49 Some member of the crew is poking a white stick out from behind the door; I'm surprised Lucy (ever the perfectionist) didn't spot it and ask for a retake.
At this time she was still on the Pepsi board! Her work ethic was fantastic 🤩.
Nice catch, Gale! And a good stunt by Joan.
I didn't know Gale Gordon could dance that well circa 1968.
🤣🤣🤣 Honey Suckle Rose !!! I lost it
Great fun! I think JC held her own in this episode. Reports of her being drunk and putting in a bad performance are grossly exaggerated. She did the best she could with a mediocre script.
Agreed. I had heard a lot of negative things about this and I'm very pleasantly surprised at how good it is.
Even in the start of her 70's she was beautiful
She certainly doesn't come off as a "child abuser" here does she. Kind of reminded me of Bette Davis in this episode. Loved seeing her with Lucy and Ethel . Great job Joan!
Bette Davis always came across as more of a child abuser to me than Joan Crawford did. And a bit of a hypocrite, too.
@@fliplinefungus That and a sore loser too: she couldn't stop whining over Anne Bancroft till she died.
She was never a child abuser ... Christina her daughter, was a liar .. joan other daughters sued Christina and won for lying, and Christina made a whole career and money 💰 for making those lies
Joan doing comedy. This is a gag I live for!
I want Lucy’s white Go go boots and coat!!!
💟
Viv speaks with a noticeable "twang" in this ep
She deserved better roles in the late 60s! I loved the dancing.
Don't call me "Darlin'"!!
Gin is short for ginger ale! 😂😂😂
The two of them look very good here.
Forgive me for inquiring, but....did Vivian state: "Well, pull my weasel" at 18:35 ?????? If she actually said that, than this has truly proved that times sure have changed! Please....someone please reply back what Vivian really said.

@ 5:00 "Bye, Lew!"
That Car doesn’t need a mechanic it needs Medicare 😂👏🏽
What kind of car is that in the beginning scene?
1952 Studebaker.
camera mans shadow crosses the car as viv gets out..
I'm curious about something. Did Lucy and Crawford work together in the old days ?
No, never until this episode.
