This is not related to results or anything, but I just wanted to take the time to point out that Shion is a really nice guy, and every time I talk to him, or just see him, he is very humble, and always smiling. Congrats shion!
I'm not going to speak any word about results, but I will say that all the competitors put in so much time and effort into their routines and I just want to take this moment to recognize how great each and every one of these players are in their own unique ways. If I could give each person a first place medal for being the best of their own style, I would. The work ethic and dedication EACH competitor has seemingly gone un-noticed; drowned-out by the sound of "who's better than who" and comments judging those who don't agree with results. Let's drop all that. Let's focus on giving these players the praise they ALL deserve!
Totally agree. Your freestyle was beautiful. Shions was beautiful. Andrews was beautiful. Gentry's was also. People who don't compete don't seem to get the fact that all this stuff was chosen, and worked on very hard. I noticed very few players who made no mistakes, and those who did make mistakes still got really good rankings. (While I'm replying to you I might as well say I just bought an edge, looking forward to playing with it.)

Only Mickey did won 1A division for 3 consecutive years (2004, 2005, 2006), and then after nobody ever won 1A for consecutive streak, not long before this year WYYC.
Let's face it guys shion had the most technically difficult tricks and he deserves the title. He seems like a great guy and honestly as a community we need to get along better. Huge props to Shion

Try some Shion's tricks and then learn from A-RT tutorials and try to execute Tyler's tricks with at least just a half of his flow

I strongly disagree. Shion likely practices way more. Plus tyler doesnt even care about contests so why are you comparing his stuff to a top contest player? That's like comparing someone who coaches a semi pro football team for a hobby as opposed to a player on a world cup team.

Shion won fairly, but i wouldve liked to see a new champion this year, every division besides 5a had the same winner as last year
Shion is amazing at competition! Not my cup of tea as far as entertainment goes though. Still, respect.
I just read all of the comments and the majority of them were all love comments. In fact I think I only read one or two hate comments. So nice job on being better than what we thought some of the yoyo community was team! (P.S. I totally think Shion deserved the number one title, but my personally favorite freestyles, based on entertainment, tech, and trick innovation only, was Ethan's and Kieran's because of their mind blowing bangers and unique ways of doing a freestyle.)
Gentry had a more fun routine, but Shion had a better objective routine. Gentry put on a better show, but Shion won fair and square

Have to say I liked Gentry's freestyle more but in saying that based on the scoring system the results are 100% fair... based on the way points are awarded this is much better than Gentry and still really enjoyable to watch. Congratulations Shion.
Why the 21 dislikes? He got 8 points more then 2nd place and fully deserved the win if he got 8 points higher than 2nd place.

Charles khulenberh Gentry didn't have much change,and his tricks weren't so amazing compared with his performance in2014. But his beat really caught up with the music.

Think about this... The winners of the five main divsions and the Women's Division, have all won that divison before at worlds. They all deserved to win buts lets be honest... It would have been cool for some new players to get their first world title this year.
I would have been so happy to see Andrew Bergen win this year. Good freestyle, but he made a few crucial mistakes. I know he lost by 7 points, but still.

I like watching Evan and Gentry play more, because of how they behave onstage n stuff. Props still go to Shion though, he's a machine and he looks like he's playing in fast forward.

Nope, not saying it was unfair. However, I am saying that the quality of Gentrys was MUCH better. It is a shame to see a performance of that quality lose to a speed combo fest, though.
I think that Gentry is definitely more fun to watch and put time into his performance, but Shion is very fast and the system favors clicks. Fair is fair but I don't particularly think Shion's was my favorite.

I just watched the top 3 freestyles. I can say Shions was the better freestyle IMO. It was one of the best I have seen. Dare I say its as good as JK 2010.

man everyone was beasting how do these things get judged? do the judges know every trick they are doing or attempting to do it just so crazy how good they all are

You are scored off of how many successful strings hits you had, and how difficult each one of those is perceived to be by each judge. You are also judged off of your performance. Things like choreography, stage presence and stage use, body control, trick cleanliness, trick variation, trick creativity, stuff like that. There are multiple judges who score your tricks themselves, and multiple who score your performance. Their ratings are averaged together to get your total score.
If I could have done that back in the day, my life would have been very different today 😅🤣😂🙄

Cameron Arant alot of the judges had very high standards, rei iwakura was judging and he has a super high standard which means they score players way more strictly

The only thing that matters in dislike ratio is the likes, and not views. Views have nothing to do with like/dislike, a person can hate a video and still watch it, but not dislike it. Anyways the video has 330 (rounded) ratings at the time of this comment, and 85 of those are dislikes. 85 out of 330 ratings people gave were dislikes, which isn't good obviously

because those tricks that you have mention are not gonna score because of scoring system mean you have to make sure your tricks are clicking like in mount like double or nothing you can straight to an entire come and any mount you can do thats how score work and thats gonna be stupid that you have to do walk the dog that yoyo that shion got could scratch his yoyo out and even if is doing eiffel tower could not score because this is a picture trick..
