I was waiting for your review before buying the game. This was my biggest problem with AO2 as well, where I had to self-impose restrictions on myself (e.g., don't go to the net, don't hit aggressive shots) to make the matches more challenging.
Guess I will have to wait till October for Tennis Elbow 4 to land on PS Store.

Is Hard setting actually harder than Expert? I have heard that.
You should try doubles play. It really exposes the bad shot reaction to the AI.
I heard about "hard" being supposedly more difficult back in early access. Imo its a myth. Since EA6 "Hard" feels exactly the same to me as "Expert" and that includes today experience (just had the same 6-0 result on Hard)
TE4 is half the price and twenty times better than this.

I did the same exact test myself - lowest rated player vs. strongest. Still no contest. Such a shame, especially considering that most of the fixes *shouldn't* be that difficult.

Such a shame, I really wanted this to be good and there was so much potential with the roster. After watching your videos I'm not going to be buying this game. Like others have said I'm going to wait for TE4 and hope that's worth a go.

No chance I'm buying this if the difficulty level doesn't get patched.
Getting the hang of Tiebreak on PS5 now and after losing 6-0 6-0 on medium difficulty i am now playing on expert and doing okay. The flat shot from what i can see needs to have the left stick forward with long hold of flat button,the problem with the CPU is that the players that hit more flat shots like Kevin Anderson keep hitting into the net even from the baseline where as the cpu players that use topspin more make less errors into the net which is annoying at the moment as they don't give you long rallies. Devs said in the last month that the serving is still in tuning stage and know the difficulty of the cpu needs fixing,i hope they fix all difficulties because everyone should not have to play on the hardest difficulty to have good matches. Lets hope we get a day 1 patch in 2 days and what happened to the ball boys and lines people which devs said would be added ?
couple of days more and you will be probably where I am at - falling asleep during an offline match :(
Let's wait for the official release date and day one patch. I have only a little hope there will be crucial improvements, but we will see...

@@machetegaming yeah, I know. It's too late now. Thay had a plenty of time to balance their game during EA. All in all, game had to be in EA at lest next half year. Although I'm not sure whether it would help.
Well i can't even win on Medium difficulty yet on ps5,i have not worked out the serving consistently and the flat shots it seems need the left stick forward otherwise i just keep hitting it in the net,for me the topspin is the safe shot but i am slowly working it out. In AO TENNIS 2 i play on world class no problem.
Tip for serving: turn off the serving timing interface thingie in the options. Release the serve button when the ball is at the apex and you'll be fine. Use "B" or "O" button for safer serve first.
Aim neutral length (no up or down) or just UP. Down makes you hit the net.
Topspin is the only shot worth using currently in this game unfortunately. Flat shot is net 95% of the time. Slice floats half an hour and has high bounce.
@@machetegaming Thanks for that i notice some players at the moment are turning serving symbol off,i started watching the player and it helped. The main problem for me is the flat shot i feel i have to hold forward on left stick as i hit it otherwise i just hit it into the net. I never use too many flat shots normally anyway mostly topspin and i seem to have no problem with slice shots. I also never use the 2 triggers at the same time which makes it more realistic.
Flat shot is completely broken.
Indeed, not using 2-triggers makes the game better tennis experience. I wish they removed it from the game...
All that budget and work on animations for something that looks like those guys are playing on the moon is heartbreaking honestly

maybe I'm just noticing it now, but why are the shadows of the stadium lights so sharp? They're supposed to be blurrier than the player shadows. Overall gameplay camera graphics look inferior to TS2K25.... It's also a shame about the difficulty level but I wonder what that means for online play.

It is very disappointing that Tiebreak is so easy, don’t get me wrong, but I feel like TopSpin 2K25 has the same problem. If you have even a quarter of a brain you can win every match on legendary with no challenge (though maybe not with a min-rated pro lol). I’m gonna need the TE4 dev to hurry up and port it to PS5 🙏

I just got done watching a guy who enjoys the game so far and all the people posting on his channel are positive.
I have no opinion on the game since its been over 10 years since I've played a tennis game, but I've been thinking about picking up a tennis game to play.
Anyway, this was just something i noticed in the last 10 minutes.
That's interesting! There's surely an impact from the mood of the video creator on the audience.
But I think it has also much to do with the tone of the video promoting/discouraging people with certain opinions to share these thoughts publicly.
I don't really know how good you are pkaye TieBreak. I also have played this game and although I think that in the harder dificulty you can win, I don't win as easy as you. I don't know your level, but I think Is very high. I think that casual player ( wich I think Will be almost the most if the people whu buys this game) wont beat the AI that easy
I mean yeah, you need some hours in the game to get the hang of the mechanics. But there is really not much of a skill involved here. There is no timing for shot release, no precise aiming.
All you gotta do is hold both triggers all the time and press topspin for the win. Throw in heavy slice into the mix and you get easy wins in online and offline.
That's more or less the difference between the skill floor and skill ceiling in Tiebreak.
Give it few hours of game time and you will be smacking CPU easily.

Looks not good, will stay with TopSpin, since gameplay feels much much better. Shame that TopSpin has such low rooster of players but game play is more important
don't take one video as the end of... it's a good game and it's come a long way. Difficulty will surely be looked at and I think expert is bugged along with a few other things. It's a pretty solid foundation for a very good game.
Hello! You know what happen to doubles online?? Why not in game, they show that on trailer and other videos
I don't know about doubles online. Doubles are available only in exhibition mode, so you can play I guess only couch multiplayer doubles? Best to ask on official forums.
What's more fun Topspin2k or this? That may be silly considering how easy this looks.

Top Spin seems already dead and apparently broken (career mode). So like a triple A with only 1 decent mode. Now Tie Break has a wonderful career mode and a great roster (only game with The Big 3). Apparently these gameplay problems are fixable, just like the flat shot was OP on the beta.
In the end if I want a new Tennis game.....which one should I give a go ???🤔🤔🤔
Problems Tiebreak has are imo way deeper than just balancing shots. You can check my earlier video on "Tiebreak is not ready" from last Early Access patch. Most of the problems from that video persist today.
Best advice I can give for good tennis experience is to give Tennis Elbow 4 a shot if you're on Xbox, or wait for it to release on Playstation.

Indeed they are. That's unfortunately the limitation of the game. If you can't stomach it, that's fine. But the gameplay is very fun, challenging and rewarding tho.
And I'll take that over pretty graphics with boring gameplay.

Thats what i thought but it is the opposite more players are offline,the same goes for UFC games the online players think they are the majority but a survey was done a while back and there are more offline players.
The only positive about this game is that players physically do resemble themselves and their signature techniques are pretty accurate as well (more or less)...most of modern tennis games can't even get THAT right and most recent TS game is no exception...Top Spin 4 is still decade and a half later is a pinacle of tennis simulators...
They do get player models right for the most part. Unfortunately most new additions to the roster seem to have just "generic" animations for serving and groundstrokes. But perhaps they will patch that up in the near future.
Game designers/makers are so poor....we're supposed to see improvement over the years but actually they get worse.
The best tennis game remains topspin 4 and that was made about 20 years ago!!
