I noticed that a lot of people these days are getting to the point where if it doesn't run at 60 or above they're not playing it or not happy. I could totally understand if the game was completely sloppy at the frames to the point where it was chugging. I don't know if people realize this but DVDs used to run at 24 frames a second I don't know what Blu-ray does or 4K Blu-ray does but people used to enjoy their content at lower frames per second and we were just fine back then.
yeah and video games used to run at 60 fps. What fps do you think the Gameboy runs at? 60 FPS, more than 30 years ago. I suggest you get some higher standards for the money you pay for? Also, learn the difference passively consume media vs interactive media.
@@cynthiacrescent well that's fantastic the the game boy got that back in the day. But I'm talking about today. Just for a quick search the PS4 says it gets 30 to 60.Most games already run smoothly at 30 FPS, but higher frames per second are recommended depending on the genre, since this avoids stutters. Super Mario Sunshine was actually 60 fps during most of its development. In the Spaceworld trailer, it was 60 fps. It was switched to 30 fps about a month before its release in Japan for unclear. And I'm sure there's countless other games that are under 60 frames a second. I'm really glad that steam made the steam deck it really taught me when I can actually get away with sometimes I even purposely run games at 25 frames a second. Just so I say power and it looks fine to me. Now let me be clear I do not recommend anyone if they're going to play like a call of duty game online to run their game at a lower 60 in fact I would recommend running a little bit faster such as 120 frames per second if your system allows.
@@DarkSkyDarksky2021 Yeah, I'd rather get 40-45 fps at a very low frametime than a stuttery mess of 60 FPS at high frametimes. People need to understand that not all 60 fps are "equal". 40-45 can be smooth as hell with Vsync on and no frame dips.
For the "low" price of $1139 for the 8840U sku with 16GB ram, the fact that it doesn't have an oled screen is a bad joke. Ayaneo and GPD need to stop producing a gazillion handhelds and just focus on getting their pricing straight.
Ive got Bazzite on my Air 1s and I found that the tdp you set on HDD does not truely reflect in game, for example if you want 16-17W TDP on the gpu, you need to set the TDP on HDD to about 23W. Setting to 30W, allows you to squeeze 25W in game. I found that on windows, setting the TDP to 20W will reflect correctly on both CPU and GPU unlike Bazzite, so maybe that is the issue for the low performance?
You can only turn on textures to max without much performance loss. SSAO needs to be off. It is one of the most taxing settings next to global illumination.
On a Aya Neo Flip DS with the same specs as the S2 I just ran Ghost of Tsushima 5x frame gen with lossless scaling & got 160-170 fps. Frame gen is the future of pc gaming as like with all forms of tech the performance & stability only improves over time. While you can use frame gen with Linux on some individual games you can’t go above 2x & it’s only a select few titles anyway. Even if Linux/SteamOS can compete with native windows performance wise, it doesn’t mean jack until Linux gets real frame gen tech up & running. Until then ditch that bazzite crap. lool
Aya Neo software makes the whole dual screen thing work exactly how you would think it should work, but try using vanilla windows & get it to do that. If you own a Aya Neo flip DS the software integration is surely revolutionary when it comes to that particular device.

I can’t play a game if it’s less then 60fps
@TrashyTVV I know you're the type of people I was talking about.

Id tech 7 was such a stable and well optimized engine under Doom Eternal.
ikr, Indiana Jones is so cooked under Linux, for me.

Performance doesn't seem to scale correctly with the increase in tdp.
this is what the nintendo switch SHOULD OF looked like
I wish Microsoft would pay more attention to building a better OS for such beautiful hardware...

It's amazing!!

It can't handle games at 60 fps. Why would you need a 120?
The stick placement is bad also. It would be much better to play with playstation layout
Anything below 60 fps why even bother playing. These handhelds are kinda useless unless it’s the lowest settings.
hahahahah
ayaneo is great if you don't use ayaneo software and never need their support

@ one device out of all of them has something useful.
This hardware is too expensive and useless. The only plus is design.
Will this work on Ayaneo 2?
depends on the SOC if you have the 6800u it might not run as good and depends on how much ram you have.
