Since people keep asking - even tho I said it IN the video, The ONLY REASON I didn't want it to be first person is because I , CURIOUSJOI, Get motion sick when playing FPS now all of a sudden - THAT IS THE ONLY REASON WHY lol.
I'm sure you've tried this, but try giving it a larger FOV! I've had the same problem with some games and a combo of higher FOV and no motion blur helps me.
How do you get motion sickness from a traditional game on a screen? I would understand if it was VR and right in your face or something but I don't get this one. Literally changing the camera it's still the same screen you would be playing on regardless. I really don't get this one. Somebody explain to he how this works. I get motion sickness from VR I can attest to that but a traditional video game though has never bothered me.
@@curiousjoiwe will see third person while doimg actions with rope... Perhaps being as first person will help us feeling the puzzles and environment....
I know it’s not 3rd person, understandable. I kept my expectations low and came away pleasantly surprised with this initial look. I also want to give it a try bc I love the original trilogy so much!
Much more immersive in first person. Spider crawling up your arm in the tombs, cracking the whip from his view, solving puzzles and seeing mechanisms in detail. You don't see all that stuff in third person. It's more personal this way.
I understand stand that. I never said i didnt. I just personally cant play FP without getting sick. Thats all I was getting at. And I proceeded to say “imma try anyways”
@@curiousjoi If allowed to in the settings, turn off Motion Blur and try to raise the Field of View (FOV). Making the Frames Per Second higher, can also help. Many claim doing these fix their motion sickness.
Play modern Wolfenstien games. They have lot of anti motion sickness settings wider Fov and no motion blur. Its slow paced first person game. You will not get motion sickness unless you have chronic motion sickness 😅
Not to be rude I just don’t understand why everyone I see reacting keeps wondering if it was gonna look like Harrison Ford. Who else would it look like? That’s like wondering if Luke Skywalker in a Star Wars game like Battle Front is gonna look like Mark Hamill. Also yeah I can already tell everybody is gonna complain a shit ton about how the game needs a 3rd person option which I agree it should be an option. The only issue is likely they won’t do it, but they should most people don’t want to be roleplaying Indiana Jones they want to play and adventure with Indy.
I honestly would like to know what people’s issue with first person is??? Is there some intuitiveness that exists in third person that I’m not understanding because my eyes are still inside my skull? All joking aside I really don’t get it… if somebody has a reason that doesn’t boil down to it just not being what you want, then I’d be happy to hear it.
The late Denholm Elliott character is also very well made for the game. Sure his character did not get as much screen time as Indy in the movies but he got a nice amount if it in the third movie.
the game will be in both first person and third person cause when you do fighting its first person and when you do traversal and other stuff its third person
stop asking for the same game. play uncharted if you want an uncharted like game. Let the dev experiment with what they want to do. Increase the FoV if you have motion sickness.
@@curiousjoi oh my that's unfortunate. So many great games that you have to miss out on because of that. I work in the medical field and there are things you can do to counter the problem.
Wow the way you put yourself on the screen missed out on Todd howard stealing the idol at 13:13. It’s the best part of the showcase for me after the trailer.
How much damage has Sony done with its shitty third-person bow and arrow games. All totally clones, under the excuse of a deep and emotional story, but they are still the worst of the worst in terms of gameplay. The first person forces the player to play and stop fooling around looking at a fucking character model. This generation of modern gamers has serious mental problems, because when I was 12, 13 or 14 years old (today I am 32), those who played on consoles could play FPS without any problem and I never, NEVER heard a complaint that such a game was an FPS and not a TPS . They played, they enjoyed video games, whether in TPS, FPS, RTS, RPG, JRPG and whatever genre. Sony destroyed this industry and it will take years to recover a healthy video game culture.
“Making each action feel like your own.” But we don’t want it to feel like our own actions, we want it to feel like the character’s actions, in this case being the titular and iconic Indiana jones. I don’t understand games that place emphasis on the playable character and their presentation yet limit seeing them to cutscenes and rare transitions *cough* cyberpunk
Because at the end of the day no one really cares. The 3rd person outcry for Cyberpunk didnt matter, the game had a peak consecutive players of almost 1 million. I dont know why people love 3rd person so much, itll never be as immersive as 1st person. Just play any horror game and youll realize.
I wouldnt want a dev to change their main intention on how the game should be played just because I personally get motion sick - it should always be presented as intended. Some people dont have a choice but to play 3rd person - i used to play First Person ALL the time but as I got older and the games changed graphically - I now get nauseous.
Tomb Raider games are 10000 better than any cinematic-driven Uncharted game (or copycats). And both are inspired on Indiana Jones. You simply can't make an archaeologist adventure game and claim to be original. You are not. Fucking period.
i'm disappointed it's a 1st person game too. i'd like to see indy do all of his animations while playing as him in 3rd person, but i could see them not wanting to go that route because it might look like a tomb raider or uncharted clone. the game still looks good though.
@curiousjoi I wanted to see Indiana Jones and this was the first video I saw. Stopped watching 5 secondes in because her reactions are fucking annoying. Did I answer your question?

If they made it 3rd Person I would just be a tomb raider/uncharted clone With Indiana Jones.
Ironic considering both were inspired by Indy

No, because every Indy game has always been in 3rd person. There were Indy games before TR or Uncharted.
My biggest fear about this game was that it would be too much like Uncharted etc. Making it first person kinda negates that fear... alot.
I know it’s not 3rd person, understandable. I kept my expectations low and came away pleasantly surprised with this initial look. I also want to give it a try bc I love the original trilogy so much!

Troy Baker is an amazing voice actor. I actually thought that was A.I. Harrison Fords voice.

I think that is Troy Baker voicing Indy.
Yeah it is Troy Baker and he nails Harrison Fords voice! Best choice of voice actor in my opinion.
The late Denholm Elliott character is also very well made for the game. Sure his character did not get as much screen time as Indy in the movies but he got a nice amount if it in the third movie.
They use FoV and use id tech engine. Their games dont give motion sickness. They make sure of it.
this is good to know!!
What’s so bad about 1st person?
I literally said it in the video lol
Oh well I only watched the part of you watching. If you did say it in that section then I wasn’t listening
Time to get an Xbox now 🤠
So this the great circle was spin off after the raiders of the lost ark and before the sequel?
It was always gonna look like Harrison
Lucasfilm owns his likeness
Troy Baker does a really good Harrison Ford Indiana Jones voice
What is your guys favorite Indiana Jones movie. Mine is raider of the Lost ark.
Last Crusade is definitely my favorite.

Yeah I can't wait for this new Indiana Jones game either girl! I wish it was in third person view too though.
I wish you could switch between 3rd and 1st person. like car games

So youre saying theres not a single FP game thats like this? Like ever…
So DOD is technically now Indy 6.
I'm super hyped to play this and the Indy voice is pretty nice
Joi, do ya want us to help you start a Motion Sickness Med fund for the 1st person POV…?😅
Looking foward to this, i love Indie

just turn off motion blur and weapon blur.
