    Excellent discussion of the HINTS testing. It should perhaps be emphasised that HINTS testing should only be undertaken in those with ongoing vertigo AND nystagmus. If applied to a patient who had a brief episode of vertigo and vomiting, and currently have no symptoms and no nystagmus (eg BPPV) the head impulse will be normal, which would erroneously point to a central cause of the vertigo.
    Also, in patients with vestibular neuritis, the nystagmus does not necessarily disappear when looking the opposite direction. It may merely lessen in amplitude. However, the fast component will not change direction as was stated.

    All PPT presentations should provide the PPT presentation for us to print out! Some of us are OCD about taking notes & learn best when doing so. Just a suggestion.

    Dr,Mc G is a breath of fresh air, art of medicine at it's best, 26:29, Parkinson's has a lot of mimics in the parkinsonism spectrum

    doc i just had a reflex test by a orthopedic doctor my kness didnt bump he hit me few times ,what do you think any never damage.i live ur video by the way ,,
