In spring, when Kintaro was two years old, he spent more time playing with Gentaro.
Gentaro takes it easy on her, but her mother, Genki, continues to watch over her.
I wonder if his father, Momotaro, is watching from somewhere in the distance (laughs).

The Momotaro family were all born and raised in Japan!
Momotaro (father) was born on October 18, 2000
He came to the Kyoto City Zoo in 2010.
Genki (mother) was born on June 24, 1986.
I was born in Kyoto and came back to Kyoto.
Gentaro (eldest son), born on December 21, 2011
Momotaro and Genki's first child
Kintaro (second son) born December 19, 2018
The baby gorilla who is an idol.
I use Canon DSLRs for all of my shooting equipment.

This video is one year old,and shows the bond between the 👦 developing.,and playing with each other is the main part of it.

Gentaro and kintaro play with eachother from the top of the roof to the straw 📦,and kintaro does not let ☝ in going after gentaro including climbing on his back for a ride.I think there day was complete for every game their was to do in their compound.Great job 👦.

Love to see the brothers play wrestling & dont hurt each other. Gentaro is a good gentle big brother, beside the difference in age & size, they play well & have fun! Kintaro loves his big brother, not afraid of him & loves to tease him! Is lovely & funny to watch them play! 🦍💕🦍

It's amazing to me how similar the brothers relationship are to humans. I'm a big brother and there's some unwritten code that says; sometimes you have to let the little brother win and then a few times you might have to put them in their place. Kintaro and Gentaro remind me very much of my childhood. Gentaro has become a very strong and intelligent Gorilla and you can see the influence he has on Kintaro. I cannot express enough how much I appreciate all of these videos, it is certainly a bright spot in my daily life.

What a wonderful play day they had!!!! I especially like the straw seen where Kinny covered himself and then dancing for Gentaro while slapping his hands! He loves that straw. Gentaro threw a bit at his dad as if to say "go away we are just playing"!!!! They did it all today. Great filming, thanks!

The footage at the start of Kintaro on Gentaro's back blew my mind I had never seen that, I'm kinda shocked actually because Genki was so incredibly protective over Kintaro and Gentaro was never really allowed to be that close as he would often try and grab Kintaro and run, although I did notice Momotaro following to make sure everything was OK.
Honestly that was such a beautiful moment.
I love this family but especially the brothers they have such a lovely bond and I get so much enjoyment from them, Kintaro has definitely always held his own with Gentaro, Kintaro can be a bit clumsy sometimes which is frigging adorable and how Gentaro still even though he is now 12, still sucks his finger, he just doesn't do it in front of Genki and Momotaro is just adorable too

ゲンタロウは、素晴らしいパパになるはず、でも。。。どこに？？？Gentarou should be a great dad, though. .. .. where? ?? ??
I forgot how much these two used to play back then. Back then they couldn't even get near each other without launching into vigorous play wrestling. Kintaro still wants to play, but sadly, Gentaro seems to have lost a lot of interest. What Gentaro appears to be going through reminds me of the last couple of verses of "Puff the Magic Dragon" where the boy in the song grows up and loses interest in the imaginative childhood games that he used to engage in. That kind of puts Kintaro in the same position as the poor dragon and I can't help feeling a bit sorry for the little guy. Gentaro appears to have gone through some sort of hormonal change as he starts to enter the last stages of growing into an adult. His sagittal crest appears almost fully grown, I expect to start seeing the flesh on top of his head start to grow and form a tall dome like the one on the heads of Momo and other silverbacks. His canines also appear to be growing rapidly.

They look like they're laughing like people when they're playing. They often look like they're biting each other but the 1 being bitten doesn't react in pain. Are they doing it gently in play?
Some days I wonder if Kintaro will ever grow up or if he will forever be a peter pan dapan type of silverback that wants to just all play??
