My God. After all these years she still is the best singer of Isabella. Beautiful color, projection, expression and phrasing. Also her music intuition and technic are amazing.
he most beautiful version sung by the most beautiful mezzo in the world; Marilyn Horne. From L´Italiana in Algeri. I do agree. A real singing class September 2019 Santiago of Chile
I'm a lyric mezzo-soprano and I'm looking for good roles/arias to perform at a local variety show. They've already seen me perform 3 trouser roles at the same theater, does anyone have an arias in mind like this one where the mezzo are simply women and not dressed as men?
Much as I admire, indeed adore her, I wish Rossini himself had been a little more inventive musically. In the stage play "Amadeus" Wolfgang disparages the Italian composers in his day: "Tonic to dominant, tonic to dominant from here to Resurrection....Not one interesting modulation all night." That's how I feel about a lot of Rossini.
Incomparable musicality. Her vocal line is like honey
True❤
Maravilhosa ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Sublime
A truly great lesson in taking the middle voice down to the chest seamlessly.. dazzling tone and no coarseness to the chest.
What a great performance.

Her trill on 3 notes is awesome

fantastica. granissima. qua e là qualche americanata di troppo.
Le americanate vediamole...in tutti
If I am wrong, please tell me. I think this performance corresponds with her farewell from opera at Covent Garden
This performance is from 1986 at the Met.

Most of them.
Too fast? Umm...I think Ms Horne can sing it however she chooses.

Bravissima...ma dico lo dice il mondo non io o qualche altro...nonostante qualche stupidissimo ed interessatissimo detrattore...
Too fast! But Marilyn is GREAT!
It's the performers choice.
