#DidYouKnow: Dmitri Mendeleyev was very fond of card games. That's why he wrote the weight of each element on a separate index card and sorted them as they would be organized in solitaire. Elements with similar properties then formed a "suit" and were placed in columns that were ordered by ascending atomic weight. I have only one doubt... In periodic table that the atomic number is ordered in ascending to descending.... That while that is easy to find that.... But how to find the mass number with easily.... Say that please.. I want that..
This video was awesome and it simply cleared the concept. But When your next video of Mendeleev's achievements and limitations is going to be uploaded??
Dear Ayesha, He left some vacant spaces or gaps in between because he had predicted that there are some elements which exist but hadn't been discovered at that time. Hope you understand ❤
@Ayesha Zafar He placed elements in the increasing order of atomic masses, keeping elements with similar physical and chemical properties in same column. In this process, he left spaces so that no differently behaving elements are together in same column.
You're most welcome. We are glad that you understood the concept. We are happy that we could help you learn. You motivate us to do better. Keep watching our videos. 😊😊
Atomic masses nhi ... Atomic numbers... Properties of the elements are periodic functions of their atomic numbers... This is the definition of periodic law ... At the end there is atomic number not the mass number okay..p
Thats wrong...he didnt grouped elements on the basis of there atomic masses...it was done by default when he put element having same properties one down one ...plz check out ncert texts😠😠😠

Mam i have a doubt in the arrangement ....
When mendeleev have placed all the cards in the increasing atomic masses so y did he he leave the spaces??

He left some vacant spaces or gaps in between because he had predicted that there are some elements which exist but hadn't been discovered at that time.

SOME SAY HE ARRANGED IN FORM OF INCREASING ATOMIC NUMBER, SO SAY IN INCREASING ATOMIC MASSES. WHAT IS THE RIGHT ANSWER. PLEASE REPLY IF YOU CAN? ASAP
Atomic mass
Was electrons yet to be discovered that time
