This is one of my favorite episodes. As a coder, when you encounter a problem that you cannot debug, understand, or resolve, it nags at you like a sore tooth. You cannot let it go until you figure it out. So the scenes of him slowly losing his mind trying to figure it out (plus the Close Encounters of the Third Kind references) resonate with me. Great channel, keep it up!
Reminds of of the sign language interpreter at Nelson Mandela’s memorial service. It got broadcast worldwide then deaf people started complaining that they didn’t know what she was saying. Turns out she didn’t know sign language at all and was just making it up. Then it turned out she’d been hired before and they’d never had any complaints so thought she must be good 😂😂😂
Loving the series, have watched every reaction you guys have made! I highly recommend you look into the show "Black Books" next, a real masterpiece of comedy like the I.T. Crowd
I put a phone in a shirt pocket once long before this episode aired. It also fell out of the pocket into a toilet:-) After I saw this episode, I knew that I was not alone. Hahaha!
There is a character on The Fast Show called Different With Boys played by Arabella Weir who is a woman who is assertive and assured when in the company of other women, but becomes coy, giggly and childishly winsome whenever a man enters the room. She's just like the sort of woman Queen Boomer is talking about.
Linda's virtual triathlon was a joke then, but I'm doing exactly that right now. They're called the Conqueror Challenges. They use your fitness tracker to track your progress and google maps / street view to show you where you currently are in your challenge. You get a real, beautiful, metal medal at the end, and whilst it's not for charity, they plant trees and stop bottles from entering the ocean as you hit milestones. It's getting me out and touching grass anyway. I did my 10k steps today. 😅
But the questions that have to be asked are - why aren't they planting trees anyway? As for the steps, after 6K it's diminishing returns in terms of how it affects your health, and in fact is more likely to cause joint problems later in life.

For whether it would be better to drown or to burn in a fire. Both are basically death by suffocation. With drowning your lungs fill with water and it's impossible to get any air in, with fire there's so much smoke as well as the fire consuming the oxygen in the air so people generally die from lack of oxygen well before they can burn to death. So the question is would you rather suffocate whilst in water or whilst being burnt as well as suffocating? I'm pretty sure put like that most people would rather the water.
