No disrespect intended to the modders who put in all that work, but I've never once planted custom crops just because there's so little info about what to expect from them.

@@SpecialKLSX Agreed. That's the issue I have with the farm economy in FS 22. I grew up on a farm. We grew corn and soybeans but potatoes was our main crop. I'm pretty sure my Dad never planted anything until he had a contract in hand that at least gave him a minimum guarantee for the crop price.
That's what I wish we had for the game. Along with contracts for doing farm work they should have contracts ahead of time for crops. To me it would be more realistic.

It seems the crop cycles should be adjusted.
In Australia, we get 2-3 cuts of Alfalfa on dryland ground and upto 6 cuts under irrigation. Grass and clovers tend to only be once a year due to weather.
When I was farming in the North of New Zealand we got two cuts of grass and clovers.
I’m led to believe that New Zealand’s climate is similar to the UK and Australia is a dryer version of the USA.
Thanks for the information on these crops, it would be good if in the future the crops could be utilised in TMR and productivity from them increases relative to the crops feed value.

@@kabeljager6645 Whats the average rainfall in those areas?
We get 20-24 inches in good years,
Even in the dry times and drought years we would get 12-14 inches, albeit, most of it fell between late spring and early fall in those years.
The drought years we got 5-6 cuts of Alfalfa and in normal years 2-3 is about it. Mostly because of when the rain fell.

I live on the east coast in South Central Pa, and we can get 4-5 cutting of Alfalfa a year, depending on weather (no irrigation because it’s not worth it) and “grass hay” you’re looking at 1-2 cutting per year, maybe 3 if you’re lucky. That being said, you anyone can edit the growth files and make it so that the ingame grass grows slowly, and the alfalfa and clover can get sped up to get cut every “30 days” as most seem to go with that schedule because it’s easy to remember. And we never took first cutting until all the corn was in the ground, usually memorial day weekend if it was a nice spring.

I thought this would be the case when i looked at all aspects on my save game,
It really is the grow time that makes the difference,
Keep in mind i was looking at using it to feed sheep and cows not for profit but this helped alot and confirmed by assumption :)
