We use ulanzi and small rig tripods and accessories and we love it. We also only use phones for our videos for now. Great video 👍🏻

The camera itself doesn't matter (and honestly phones create just as awesome shots than many cameras nowadays) but the tripod is super important.
Have you guys looked into the polar pro cases? Because I love mine. Allows me to add a handle or lenses

We have the Ulanzi cell phone rig for hand held shots. I have two Galaxy S 22s that I use for filming and clip on ND and polarizer filters. So far we're happy with what we have, Just gotta level up my skills.

Hey thanks for the review, I was wondering what do you think about that leg mechanism since you had this tripod? I'm such a fan of simple clamp locks, and I'm afraid that these legs might end up gimmicky to use...

Mixed thoughts. On one hand, super fast! Couple turns and the whole things comes out. On the other hand, what if you don't want the whole thing to come out? Well then you have to pull the whole thing THEN adjust vs having each section be adjustable.

@@BaptismOverland Yea I wonder a bit about setups on uneven terrain that I'm often at... I would have to bend down to the bottom to adjust the legs all the time...

@@BaptismOverland the “ 2-3 clicks” when turning the leg are actually for each leg section, so if you only want 1 section just turn until you hear the first click and pull, but you can’t open the thickest leg first , that’s the downside

Hey my friend, have you looked into the Smallrig 4104 Fluid Head? It has a portait mode built in. From my research into a travel fluid head, the 4104 seems to tick the most boxes

Yeah that's the one I put on the tripod lol. I talk about it in the end. And I love it.

I have the F38 video tripod.. I also want a fluid head that can turn into portrait mode for photography so that smallrig one looks like a great option (pretty pricey though) but one thing I do notice is that it doesn't have a bowl head style to level itself? That might be a big problem with this style of tripod legs because it can be a little finicky in run and gun situation.

Yep. No bowl. I actually did another review released today on the 3 Legged Thing that has the bowl but no center column. That might work for you too

The small rig, as pricey as it is, I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT and will buy it again. I'm glad to have pulled the trigger.

May I ask how smooth the pan and tilt of the Smallrig fluid head in the video? It’s the Smallrig 4104 right?

    • @BaptismOverland
      @BaptismOverland  ปีที่แล้ว +1

It is and it's very smooth. That being said, the pan though, the knob to tighten it could be better. It'll loosen easily. It doesn't feel as "secure" when locked.

There’s a product I picked up, I believe the overlanding community would enjoy and benefit from. I think we both share an obsession with keeping things organized and clean lol.
It’s called “The Bugout Roll” by another TH-camr named Canadian Prepper. Though it was geared toward preparedness. It sure has a place in our world.
It’s a great product and very well made.
Would love to see you do a review and get your thoughts.
    Cheers
