11-Route 66 New Mexico Part 2

- We start at the old Richardson Store on the National Register of Historic Places.
Heading west we come to the old and abandoned Wilkerson’s Gas Station.
And just on the other side of Interstate-40 is the abandoned Vista Mini Mart.
Then we're into Santa Rosa, NM for some Route 66 gold!!
An abandoned Exxon "Happy Motoring" gas station, the abandoned Rio Pecos Ranch Truck Terminal, an amazing old restaurant and then the Sun 'n Sand Motel & Restaurant.
We check out Santa Rosa's pre-1937 Allignment of Route 66.
Off of the Interstate we see what's left of the Longhorn Ranch Motel.
Once we're in Albuquerque we explore Central Avenue - the Old Route 66.
And finally the New Mexico Madonna of the Trail.

Great video, I finally gave a 55' Clipper to a family friend that had wanted it for years, watching it deteriorating. I'm glad that car is his now. I saved it by letting someone that really loved it, have it.

GREAT, Jeff... I love the fact that you left the train passing by in your Vids. I'm old enough to remember steam locomotives! I've been in touch with one of my old PWR tour buddies. He and his family did 17, all 'Long-Hauls'. He no longer goes. He pointed out the fact that no-one really cared that we had done so many tours in the early days and concentrated only on the Newbie's. I trying to convince him to do one more this year. We'll see. I'm going to write you at Hot Rod Magazine and send you some of my photos. Paul.

They’re probably still there because they belong to the owner.
The next time your in Albuquerque you should hit up the Frontier they have really good breakfast there i haven't tried their lunch or dinner yet but very affordable and they serve really good salsa especially but you gotta be careful because it's fresh out of a hot pot my brother burned himself touching it once haha but curiosity will get you
