  • This video will show you how to replace the glow plugs on the 2004-2005 6.6 Duramax Diesel found in the GMC Sierra and the Chevy Silverados. Glow plugs were purchased from Amazon and I have provided links below. If you have a 2004 make sure you check your vin# before ordering. If you have the number 2 as the 8th character in the vin then you have the lly motor and you will need the acdelco 63G glow plugs: amzn.to/3dI5Qpk

Nice video work! some of the best I have seen on glow plugs, ready to do mine this weekend on the LMM. Man, I hope mine go as smooth as yours did.

I have the dreaded #4 to replace and I've been collecting beta on what is the best way to tackle this job. I'm amazed at how well you got to #4. Albeit, I'd be concerned that cranking on the #4 at that angle could snap it, which is my biggest concern. Thanks a lot for showing replacing the whole set as most just show replacing an easy to get to GP.

How much would the cost be if you took it to a shop ?

I think the average cost is between $400-$500 for all eight to be done.
