- It's hard to believe we're on the 12th generation of the Mercurial Vapor, but the Nike Mercurial Vapor 12 Elite is here! The first Vapor since the Vapor 3 to not feature a Teijin synthetic upper, instead the boot is entirely constructed from Flyknit, along with a bunch of other new features! Did they change to much? That separate stud plate worries me. It doesn't look like there's a higher lip around the front to prevent separation.
That really bothers me because that was the first place to show significant wear before they added the clear lip to the previous generation and other lines.

Punch had multiple vapor 11’s and after one practice or game I had sole separation. The lip doesn’t do anything
Vapor 11 was my favorite mercurial boot ever. Very responsive and tight fit, barefoot sensation.

Looking back from 2024, Mercurial 12 is definitely revolutionary, we can see many elements from mercurial 12 in 13,14 even 15
Now that you’ve tried this, do you recommend Vapor 360 or Hypevenom 3? Love my Vapor VIIIs and Hypervenom 3 DFs but want to pick up a low cut flyknit boot.
I can recommend either of them. They're both great options, just different.
Sometimes the choices in SR4U laces are not incredibly complimentary or stand out. But this time it makes the new Vapor look 100% better. Right on the money Josh!

I personally prefer the Tiempos, but they're both excellent boots. It just depends on what type of fit and feel that you're looking for.

Hey Josh! I've been wondering: Which boots would you say are the best that don't feature a one-piece upper on the market right now? If I recall correctly most of the top-end models nowadays are featuring something like that, or at least doesn't really have a tongue - which indicates to me that it's kind of that. Today a package arrived to me containing two pairs of Puma shoes: one is an Evopower 1.3 and the other is a EvoSpeed 1.5, and these boots gave me the idea to ask this question.
Everything from Mizuno is great! The new UA Magnetico is really good as well. Those are the first few that came to mind.
Hmmm I'm a bit nervous about the width because the Vapor 11's were perfect for my narrow feet

I think this is a more refined variation of what Nike did with the Flyknit Ultra. I really like the grip aspect of the Flyknit Ultra, but I prefer the way these fit.
Which would you prefer - the Hypervenom Phantom 3 lows or the vapor 12? Also, do they fit similarly, or is the hypervenom wider? Thanks! Great video.
I really like the way these feel. It's early for me to say that I like them more than anything else though.

No. These are still the most responsive boots from Nike as well. I go over all of the details in the video.
Just to hide the fact that stud pattern is same as the vapor 11, they split the sole plate.

The vapor 12 is the best mercurial in a technological standpoint but overall in my opinion the vapor 10 is the best mercurial ever made

It's too early for me to say for sure that I like one more than the other, but I really like the overall feel of these new Mercurials. They're fairly different as well.

can we say that this is like a face-lift from superfly v to superfly 360? minor differences between the 2 boots, the major one being that there is a split soleplate.
These are significantly different from the Superfly 5. They feel and compare more closely to the Vapor 11 than they do the Superfly 5.
Josh I bought a pair of the mv xii elite today and as I was trying them on, I felt that my entire sock is pulled to my toes as my feet is trying to get in the boots. Obviously the width of the boot is holding my sock as I push in. I try to put them on without pulling my sock backwards but I just cannot. Is this a problem that you also faced in the beginning? Should I be concerned? Thank you

Hey Josh would you prefer a magista obra 2 or the vapor 12 for a really good lockdown and no slipping in the shoe at all? I have a bit wider feet and want good comfort but no slippage and has good lockdown..
At this point, it's too early for me to say that I like these more than other boots that aren't Mercurials.

I bought nothing but adidas in the past bc they feel more comfortable overall. I wanted to try nike out so I got the vapor 12. After playing in these shoes, I'd have to say that the Adidas shoes are more comfortable, but I did get better touches with the vapors.

I don't think so. There have been counterfeits of boots with a split sole for a log time now.

The Flyknit Ultra was a limited release. It was never a model that was meant to always be available.

You can't size soccer cleats accurately off of regular shoes.

So I wore a size 10.5 on the superfly 5 but a size 10 in the vapor 11s to make the one piece upper tongue not crinkle up as well as get a nice tight fit. What size would you suggest for the Vapor 12?
Sizing is the same for all of them.
Sorry to say, but they did screw up the Vapor 12.It's not as tight as the Perfect Vapor 11. I don't know if it's because of the new fabric or if they made it wider in the front, but many soccerplayers is "sliding" with the foot inside the shoe when they make quick turns or make a hard pass.Can not recommend this shoe, it's a step Down from the near Perfect Vapor 11.Hope Nike sees the mistake and make a tighter Vapor 13.

I need your opionion please.I have got 3 boots which i am concidering to buy.Tiempo Proximo 7 TF, Copa 18.1 Ag and Netfit 18.1 Mg(i think that Mg ist their Ag sole).I do like the feel of leather but leather breaks fast on hockeyturf if you buy it with a soleplate, bit i really like a soleplste more than an foammidsole.Should i buy a shoe which could possibly break very fast(Copa 18.1 Ag, Netfit 18.1 Mg)bit i would enjoy the feel or a shoe with more durabily but i mkght not enjoy the feel.
If durability is a concern, I'd go for the Future.

They won't stretch. You'd you have to make the sizing call on your own based on how they feel.

I haven't watched any reviews on either shoe yet but by the looks of it the only difference between the new Superfly and vapor is the collar. Kind of a bad move if you ask me because the cheaper one will sell more which is probably the vapor even though they will probably give the Superfly more publicity. The last generations of the two were better because they were different.
I guess they've already done that with the hypervenom. Who knows which sold better.

I have heard that the vapor 12 is stiff at first and then they become softer .. what is your opinion Josh??
They definitely soften up as you wear them in, that's the case with almost any boot, but I don't think they're overly stiff out of the box at all.
