Honestly, even after all the male idol groups that SM Entertainment has debuted after TVXQ, in my opinion, no one else has come close to just how well-rounded 5-member TVXQ was. Each member could easily have been a main vocal of any other group. They could perform 4 hour concerts LIVE and still sound better than the recorded tracks. They were the blueprint from which SM then trained SHINee, EXO, and NCT members to perform the way they do.
You’re so right! I don’t think younger fans understand the power tvxq and boa held in that era. They were literally everywhere in japan. Tvxq is already legendary with just two of them, just imagine all of them together 😭

SM built this group following on the footsteps of Boyz II Men. That's why not one idol group now sounds like them when they do acapella.
Acapella is TVXQ's game.
They can stand in a corner and just blast an acapella and that's unsurpassed by any kpop group now.
Their songs, especially Love in the Ice, is a staple contest/audition piece for newbies to prove themselves.
This performance right here? They got this down back to back with another power ballad, Love in the Ice, after 3 hours of LIVE concert.

They made their own way there, Lived there, learned japanese and becoming fluent
Performing for the first time with only 500 audiences when they used to perform in such big stadium in Korea
They were the first non japanese artist who performed in TOKYO DOME in 2009
I started with kpop in 2008 through TVXQ ...now I´m a SM stan and nctzen...with all my heart I have to admit that there´s no OTHER GRUOP who can bring vocals, visuals, dancers, performers, ...like TVXQ, srly there´s no one like them, true GODS OF ASIA . Really miss OT5 ♥

they are the first idols that got me interested in listening to kpop, their voices are very harmonious even they often sing acapella. Thank you for watching them sing, they are really great.. I really admire them even now. If I may suggest, you can watch their song "Love In The Ice" perform at the Tokyo Dome. That song is really and very beautiful and sad at the same time.
Or if you want to watch them dance, try watching their performance entitled "Mirotic" the song is very famous from TVXQ even now the song is still...
Not all of them can perform at the Tokyo Dome but they are one of those who can hold a big concert there.
For me, they are the best vocal male idol group forever. If you would like to hear more their vocal, i suggest 'love in the ice' and 'proud'.
Newbie won't understand this... especially the one who just joint during middle of 3rd gen to 4th gen..
For real, no one, in boy group category at least, own the all around, full package, completed each other, so well than TVXQ! Not overrated or anything, but TVXQ! itself who make idol job looked prestigious in South Korea after achievements over achievements as well as popularity, especially in Japan, which not easy to enter back then for a Kpop as Japanese known own their own type of pop song, huge one in community too. So, Huge respect for TVXQ!
There's no one who doesn't know TVXQ. It's the best group. When all 5 of them debuted in December 2003, 3 left at the end of 2009, and Korea was the best group. There were no members missing, and only many idols are leading K-pop, but all 5 of them are Koreans. I've only promoted in Korea for about two years. But even after more than 10 years, there's not a group this big yet. The public still misses and feels sorry for them. There's no group like them.
TVXQ japanese songs really have beautiful lyrics
TVXQ/DBSK/THSK is an acapella group so they're all very talented at vocal. The best male group vocalist for me. I mean they are many good vocalists in many Korean BB/GG groups but it means just only some of their members can sing very well or maybe only their vocalist of the group can sing this well but not for TVXQ, they all sound fantastic. Even Yunho and Yuchun who are not the main vocalist, both of them are sub-vocalist, low tone/key, and main rappers but their vocal are above the normal standard, they might be the main vocal list some time. Love in the ice and Bolero might be the best ballad live performance song that people can't forget about it but it's still so many songs that are so emotional and many people in the new K-Pop Generation never heard about it so I suggest you listen to

this group was the first kpop group i ever met. they were awesome. Their voices were incredible, they harmonized perfectly. their acapella were great. I have never been able to find another kpop group so vocally complete. Thank you so much
I think one of the things I loved most about TVXQ thinking bout it now was the storytelling and progression in these ballads
DB5K/ Toho5hinki was and always be my first love. Learnt korean because of them, love korean cultures thanks to them. Even now im an ARMY, being a Cassie since 2008 they still have a special place in my heart even tho im not an active fan in these past 5 years. This is my favourite song! TVXQ holds a special place in my heart. I’ve never been able to love another group in the same way because no one compares to them.
I've been following KPop for so long and have been a Cassie for almost as long and...there is no group quite like them. Don't get me wrong, I do love other groups, NCT, for example, is right there on the top of my list but no group has ever managed to capture me the way DBSK did and still do. They set the standard for a lot of things, especially for live vocals, and it's very often because of this group, that so many wanted to be Kpop singers back in the days. They've truly established themselves in Japan as well. To the point where their travels to Japan don't just feel like a Korean 'guest' group going there to perform but rather like Japan's Tohoshinki has returned to their second home. My favorite ballads of them are Tonight (I think you'll love this one if you've listened to NCT U's From Home Rearranged Ver.), Why Did I Fall In Love With You, Lovin' You, Picture of You, Love In The Ice, Don't Say Goodbye and well..Bolero. So yeah would definitely recommend you checking those out.
I love watching you guys react to old TVXQ, I don't think any artists will ever come close to how much I love watching them live. I would suggest any of their live performances. If you want to hear more crazy vocal power I suggest Tonight. JYJ (the three members that left) also have a live performance of their song In Heaven that is beautiful!

Even their separation so painful, but they own the most valuable 'conflict' as its end with a law that saving entire idol from 'poisonous toxic' contact by Kpop back then (named slave contract for bond the idol to the agency for 10 or more years).
Its one of the most tragedies era in Kpop scene.

their live vocals are bcomes the standar of kpop groups. just watch some kpop competition programes there's atleast 1 TVXQ song when they hv to showcase their vocals and Love In The Ice is what i saw often since Bolero is japanese song they didn't put bolero in kshow.
D'know why u feel emo after watching this? Bcoz it was their last concert together.. they split months later. Besides ballads, they also have upbeat songs like Summer Dream, Wrong Number, Choosey Lover with mw
I used to watch this performance of Bolero so much when I was younger. Your right, this is the very last song and stage they shared together as 5 before splitting up. At this point Yunho and Max were already told by the other three that they were planning on leaving/suing. Knowing that information and seeing all of the emotion that the members were displaying throughout this performance makes it even more impactful imo. I feel like it's their most passionate and emotional performance of Bolero.
