Another reason why casting a wrester is good idea for a masked character.
1. Keeping the mask ON is part of the trade for some.
2. They know how to act by body language and looks.
and I bet they can become good stuntmen with not much work, since they know how to take bumps.
Another cool thing about the casting of Samoa Joe is that his boss Tony Khan will let him take time off from wrestling to do the show.
Hollywood really knows when to strike while the iron is frigid.

First time I heard of twisted metal and Sweet Tooth was from Playstation Allstars Battle Royale. It introduced alot of legendary characters from playstation.

You know judging from the first look, I thought this was going to be some Netflix Bebop level of crige adaptation, but I was pleasantly surprised that the Twisted Metal show was actually kinda decent. Not perfect, but I'm glad I was proven wrong that this didn't end up being a complete trainwreck.

I was honestly surprised that it was a pretty fun series. Admittedly part of me was hoping for it to be as fucked up as Black was, but alas, it was not to be.
And yeah, the lack of metal was weird. Then again, Hollywood seems to be scared of using it in anything unless it's "ironic."
For me this was perfect. Me and my boyfriend where highly glad it got announced and when the trailer dropped of sweet tooth we knew we needed more context before judging it, then we watched it and we had a blast!
I only was able to point out dragqueen, Raven and the Kelly reference at the bar, and Mortimer's car first, since i've only been a fan for 5 years, and my boyfriend who played the games since he was a kid and play them even now was able to point out who was who, what game they are from, cars, and so on. We have our own theory about what season 2 could be about, but I got who I wanted out of twisted metal. Kinda hoping for them to do more with the Blackfield Asylum just to point out that others where from there, and are going to try to go to the tournament. Mostly because I want crazy 8 on the soul fact of him being my favorite character in black. I can admit this. I have no shame wanting my boi to be in the series. For my bf he wanted to see Axel, and my god season 2 is hinting at a lot with him, that I can't wait to see where it goes with John's story.
Lastly for season season to set up for the tournament as a whole just makes too much sense to me and my partner. Here me out here. We looked at the date and we where just like, "It's not December 24 so no way the tournament is any time soon" cause yeah. That's the only canon that has been kept with the series. The twisted metal tournament is always on Christmas eve. Which is why in some areas of maps in game you see Christmas things everywhere for those who do not know.

Man i played the shit out of twisted metal 2, by far the best in the series. Mr. Grimm was my jam to style on my buddies.
I never really cared for sweet tooth as a character, kinda felt like axel was always the main character, a living embodiment of "twisted metal."
Also, you need to review the english dub of kung fu hustle as the greatest kung fu movie and best "live action anime" movie ever made.
Had a blast watching some of this.

1:53 I actually got my 3 year old niece to play jak X and now whenever she comes running into my room she says "racing game racing game" although she only knows how to press the x button so I control the analog stick for her. She has a lot of amusement when the car explodes though.
To be honest, I like this far more than The Last of Us. It's not perfect, but at least it was fun, for the most part.

This show had no right being as fun as it was. I was having an incredibly bad week at the time and it just hit me so right. I cant wait for s2.
Honestly I would say the two biggest issue for the show is that one it’s on a streaming service that most likely no one has and two the way they tried to promote the series was very bad, They really should’ve showed some thing else to catch peoples interest in to the series. Since bad marketing can easily kill any interest in any product if not careful.🐱
Peacock is free though, so theres no barrier to entry unlike Netflix or HBO Max

Samoa Joe is a wrestler first and foremost. The man knows how to act with his body and knows how to play a role that’s given to him.
wrestlers can be some of the best actors that’s literally all they do. Some though don’t have the best speaking voices.

Interesting note on Sweet Tooth's backstory, they do reference his *real* father was a cab driver (aka Yellowjacket), and that he hadn't seen him in years.
So they left a nice big door open for any of Sweet Tooth's extended family to show up.
I really miss Calypso. The guy was always my favorite character. Hope he makes his return.

I watched Netflix Castlevania and bought the first season on blu-ray. It was good. Season 2 was better... but then everything went downhill. Also... DID THEY JUST REFEENCE SMALL BRAWL? I am surprised they'd do that but it is adorable nonetheless. I get the feeling we are going to have quite a number of deep cut references in season 2. Especially given the various forms Calpyso has taken. Solid review, glad to have stayed up to date with most of Twisted Metal's content through TBP, though you should probably add a link to his channel in the description.

It isn't perfect but I had fun watching it with my roommate and his GF. Hopefully the next season has a bigger budget to do the game's large-scale battles justice for more than an episode or two.

Jak X was a game I hated as a kid because I liked the main 3 so much going into something just dedicated to the racing seemed stupid to me. A few years later when I went back to play the series, I loved it as much as the others.

How no one has gotten Sam Raimi to direct a Resident Evil movie is beyond me.
I can somewhat respect them saving the Twisted Metal tournament for the second season while the first gives us characters to bond with and establish the world they inhabit. Honestly it sounds like they did it way better than that Mortal Kombat movie from a few years ago where they just bait and switched the tournament out of the movie.
I want to see that Castlevania video, as I also liked the first 2 seasons, I really want to hear your thoughts on Season 3 because well there's alot to be said about the choices made.
Yeah I think they hinted Axle being someone that's going to pop up in the next season, I forget what when it happened but I just remember thinking "maybe that's going to be him" after a bit towards the end of the 1st season.

I love the fact that for so long people made fun of Samoa Joe for his fat guy physique in pro wrestling, yet he ended up being PERFECTLY cast as Sweet Tooth.

I gotta say, the title of this show is kinda misleading, a lot of the metal I'm seeing in this show actually looks pretty stable and structurally sound.
Anthonie Mackie sucks the joy out of every project he is a part of. The casting for nearly everything has gone downhill for almost a decade straight. Glad this wasn't a complete dumpster fire but why celebrate mediocrity?
Twisted Metal 3 was the first game I got for playstation as a young man along with Crash Bandicoot and a fighting game called Ehregeiz. I have many fond hours playing it especially with my Dad and younger brothers. My old man even went as far as to go out and get a quad adapter so we could play 4 player. It came as a shock that its considered the weakest in the series I never really researched it.
Were I a perpetually online insane person this is where I would insert the long rant about you having no taste or something because, by not liking product I would rationalize you are attacking me. Or something to that ridiculous effect.
Its good to know the series isn't a total bomb initially when my brother texted me the trailer I immediately dismissed it as another soulless cash grab but, you've definitely changed my mine loli I will check it out. Thanks for the heads up homie.

I was okay with Quiet's until the last two episodes where she pissed me off. They had the nerve to make it like Anthony Mackie's character was in the wrong but she was completely in the wrong.
Jak X was a certified hood classic and I refuse to back down from that. It was a legitimately good game and I liked the additional story and characters to the Jak franchise.
Honestly, while I do like this series, I feel that it would've been a lot better had it been animated to fit TM 2 and HO's comic book look.

Dead pool isn’t funny
Always thought the otherworldly element to Dark Tooth in tm2 made him one of the scariest characters. Not to mention his badass intro vibing to his even more intense revamp of the intro theme turning to pure shock seeing him for the first time before getting mulched by a wall of missiles and ram damage. They never managed to get his "feel" right after 2. Sure, sweet tooth in 4 is usually considered the hardest boss, but everything about Dark Tooth in TM2 oozed pure gasoline fueled adrenaline. By far my favorite iteration of the character.

Honestly though, I'm okay with a slow burn first season, it really allows for the second season to explode on the screen and gives a good backdrop to the carnage for the unfortunate folks who didn't get to play the games growing up.
Also, the soundtrack should be metal.
Between what they did to Twisted Metal and Cool Boarders, 989 Studios is one of my most despised companies of all time, and i Genuinely wish they never existed. I'm pretty sure they're Goal was to shit on beloved series in Every conceivable way. Mechanics, lore, music, no matter how good the previous title was, or how Easy it would be for them to follow those blueprints, Every aspect got replaced with rancid anus puke once 989 took over.
I’m very on the fence with the show, half the humor is cringe ass trash, but the other half is super funny. Some of the characters are absolutely terrible and some of the visuals are amazing. It was extremely hot and cold.
Agree with everything. I really enjoyed it, much to my surprise. It's not perfect, and there is some cringe, but I'm all about bringing on Season 2.
I was slightly let down by the series as a whole, but granted, I was holding onto the frankly impossible pipe dream of it being more like Black. As it stands, it feels a bit like a hybrid of 2 and 3, tonally. Not as dumb as 3, not as clever as 2, a pretty good middle ground.
resident evil is hard To do because it's a weird mix of super serious, scary and disturbing, and also high levels of camp without being a lot of the most recent games have given up on doing the mix with the most loved modern games being 4 (full camp) 7 (full horror)
I never played twisted metal but when I saw sweet tooth I was like damn I'd probably like this, haven't watched it yet but want to and am preemptively excited for season 2

The Twisted Metal games have a lot of mind fuck twists in regard to John Doe and Sweet Tooth. I haven't seen this show, but judging by this video (and the casting) they aren't going that direction.

My theory is that despite what Raven says, this won't be the first Twisted Metal tournament.
I suspect that Raven has won one before, and it's why she has the power she does over New San Francisco - or like you said, why the world fell apart in the first place. Someone just wishing for all the computers in the universe to stop working would have absolutely triggered the events of the show.
