In the Tally I hammer down almost full speed, lock on and launch at @2,500 so they can't use counter measures. Hope it works the same with Eclipse when I get one. Usually I'm already out of Atmo before his buddies can do anything.
yea it works with the seekers launching them around 3km at full speed with a lockrange min of 2.6km and with shields off, guns off (cm still on), and IR supression they wont even know whats coming often, depending on situ.
@@lRehab_ I was using default at 1st, then seekers before I read this. Learned the hard way their locking rang lol.
@@lRehab_ I'm getting target locked at 6km even with shields off and guns off, also at least half of the torpedos are missing the HH (it just flares them off), any idea why is that? Right now I'm using Seekers and launching just before 2600, but other torpedos were not any better either
@@k1mfor go to heat tab and use IR suppression and see if that helps, travel full speed at the HH and make sure the green lock is full. Release torp at about 3km before it unlocks. I find an angle where u will be aiming to travel over the top of the enemy ship works well.
Isn't IR suppression client side only...
nice edit, the sounds cig have are sharp & well done. hope they keep it up and dont make things dull. If you hold the fire button down pretty sure you can get the chase cam on the rocket itself to add to your angles. cool vid! love the eclipse.

What a fitting name for a ship that does what it does.
Do you have to maintain a lock after you launch the torpedo? Or can you just fire and turn away?
I’ve never played SC.
Once missile has left ship it’s all up to the missile and the strength of the lock you had before firing so you can turn away and switch weapons / pray.
I have a best in show skin for this ship since there is a ccu best show ship underneath it. looks sick all white with some trim

Dam that was a heck of a vid, angles, music. love it.. if only that pretty bird could hold more than 3.. it feels like such a odd limitation to go with.. like they already kind'a do'n that with size 2 guns, and it's screwed if someone comes in on it from above or below and can stay in the blind.

love the ship, video is AMAZING but I want to get myself a Hammerhead and I don't want to be a oneshot.. it's crazy that the Retaliator has more Hull Hp than a Hammerhead atm
i mean you only get one shot by a very slow moving limited , expensive torpedoe ... when point defense is a thing (like on the supposed BMM) there wont be any fear of those ...
Now in 3.17 these torpedos are u bending and proximity exploding as well. I’m having trouble dodging them in the sentinel. Will be interesting to see what happens with torps.

Keep in mind this may be before the torps were fixed the Argos IX went around 900m/s now theyre around 500m/s

@@038alpha can do the same thing but doesn't need stealth, can just tank the mission. The HP of the Tally is almost corvette size.

so, what's the best torps on an eclipse ?
normally the best missiles are the electromagnetic missiles because they don't break lock easily and they do good damages.
why are you using crosssection torps, does it work better on an hammerhead ?
Crosssection cannot be avoided you can only outrun them if you fast enough, they are slower compared to other torps but most hard hitting from all torps, thats why its best used on large ships since they are slow.
I usually run seeker EM but latest patch cs has been pretty good on large targets and locks closer. At the end of the day I always prefer EM but whatever missile choice I had during the filming of this was probably just testing.

I wonder if I was doing something wrong when I was using mine. I had almost no success with it and so I exchanged it. Just couldn't kill my targets for whatever reason. Nice vid though.

How does one miss get through all the shields??
Its using Size 9 Torpedos. These things are thicker than a man and as long as a whole van/bus. So you can imagine the payload one of these things pack.

@@barryr.9354 They did help back then. Seems like tracking with these torpedos in 3.18 works well. No need to change. Ive only used "stock" eclipse once on 3.18 tho
is it good for making money. what about the torp restock??
11k - can get 45k killing a navy hammerhead on the assassin line in Delphi. I’ve shot 3 with 3 torps so it can make money but it’s a bit dull compared to scraping with lasers.

I had my M2 destroyed by one of these, from nowhere come a missile and obliterated my M2
I still won’t call this a direct counter to hammerhead, its way too weak to withstand direct fire and normally if you want to get a torp in you get close a bit since torpedoes can be intercepted midair and its pretty much impossible to get in with eclipse. Great vid though
we killed a few during JT. All situational.
I like it as a counter because the HH is a capital ship lite so really it would warrant a strike package of multiple of these torpedo bombers to overwhelm the point defense, its a good rock-paper-scissors
can you be more specific please? I bought one of these and have a terrible time getting it to kill anything especially Hammer heads, I mostly just use my sentinel to emp and distortion lock them
I could be wrong but I think they swapped out the defult torps
@@joshuabohn9429 not at that range, the non default torps have a min range of a billion light years and fly about as fast as a 3 legged turtle

I'm curious if you are 1 hitting these hammerheads @ 100%... if so, that's just not right...
maybe 80% now but that's after a bit of experimenting. Defiantly not with PVP hammerheads that's a total different ballgame.
