LIBYA - DOCUDRAMA # 2 - "THE CONSTITUTION SMS" - English (TRT:

This docudrama, created by organizations from Misrata, Tripoli and Sebha, is one of the first to air on national television stations in Libya, encouraging citizens to participate in the process of democratic governance after the free elections on 7/7/2012.
The short film captures a spontaneous conversation between friends, questioning the form of governance that will shape Libya's future, and educates the public about the building blocks of democracy, human rights and rule of law.
BACKGROUND
The docudrama was produced during a six-week video training workshop, held June 24th to August 4th in Tripoli, Libya, as part of a project entitled, Voter Ownership and Increasing Civic Participation (VOICE), implemented by Creative Associates International and media training partners, Barefoot Workshops, with funding from the US- Middle East Partnership Initiative (MEPI).
Participants in the training included: Libyan Scouts & Girl Guides, Sebha Youth Forum, The Libyan Organization for Administration and Human Capacity Development and The Free Generation Movement.
Together the groups produced eleven PSAs on topics including electoral education, voter participation and rule of law, and two short docu-dramas about the new constitution and mine risk education.

HOW TO PARTICIPATE:
"THE CONSTITUTION SMS" is perhaps the first citizen-produced docudrama to air on television in Libya since the end of the end the former government.
A text message prompt has been added to the end of the video to determine the effectiveness and relevance of the message to the public.
If you are of Libyan nationality, please respond to the prompt to offer feedback and/or to suggest other PSA topics.
The PSA may be distributed by broadcasters and the public "rights-free".
