This looks like a cooler Troy PAR. So if the price is right, you could even bring these to the US and Europe.
However, you should include an action lock. No cycling until the trigger fell. We don't want it to go out of battery before it was fired. Also, 9mm and .300blk versions for suppresor nerds.
I ordered mine and put in my PTA today from Cleaver Firearms I’m really looking forward to using it I have been using a Ruger American Ranch in 223 which is a great rifle but I really like the look of the X and I think the mags are compatible too so👍
Unfortunately I, like many others that took the plunge and bought the first release version, feel like we were Guinea pigs or beta testers for this rifle. SCSA has repaired mine once already and it would be fantastic if you guys were able to provide the upgrades you have talked about in this video to the people who supported the product right from the start.
Bad luck, I bought crappy bickmaster pb12 for 2400 then sold for 1100
Brother...that's literally everyone who buys the very first of absolutely every consumer product 😂
First guys in got it the worst. Believed in the product and got the worst run
Yep got screwed over - and paid $2200 for mine, few weeks later they dropped the price by $500. Wont be supporting them again.
@@trollerxoxox Yeah you early guys got shafted. They’re clearly trying to dump the first batch of rifles and I suspect the price will go back up when the ‘improvements’ (really repairs) are standard on all the new rifles. I hope they can pull through and salvage a good rifle out of it. Could be a good thing if they just get them running right, especially being legal Australia wide except for that floating bush block down south.
Does yours at least work properly?
Can’t wait to buy it, take off the pump and add a hand stop. I’ll be running it straightpull full time.
Just got mine today. Taking off the pump handle and go straight pull only. Be very handy gun to shoot out off the driver seat. Looks good and feels good so far. Don't expect it to be a match rifle. Just 200m or less shot it will be fine.
hey man do you know if taking the pump handle off would be an illegal modification here in NSW?
@xeon7663 nope didn't read the rule book. If it is then it's a stupid law 🙄. I put it back on after sighting it in today. Get to clangy without it. Got it down to within 1/2 an inch at 50yards. Sighting 50 for 200 yard rule. It should be fun. I do find the lever handle and the barrel thread protector did came loose. But I locktide it up. So far so good. Cycle rounds fine. Barrel didn't get to hot shooting moderately, about 10 second per round. Just cheap winchester 55grain. It seems to like it.
@xeon7663 also there is other rifle that is straight pull only so I don't see why it would be illegal to take off the pump handle.
@@mclongkock6678 Righto thanks, I am relitivelty new to the groupings, would that be considered accurate or not?
For the style of rifle it's in I consider it to be good. It's designed to be quick shooting and close in range. Say u shooting out of ur 4x4 or while chasing games through scrubs. The industry standard for grouping in full length hunting rifle is sub moa at 100y. So a bolt action 20inch plus barrel shooting in grouping of less than a inch at 100y is considered to be good then yeah this thing shoot good to above average consider its barrel length and not being a bolt action. I only got a 4x power scope so it could be better than 1/2 inch spread.
Very interesting. We used the Troy PAR to win the IPSC Rilfe World Shoot 2019. Looking for something new, possibly, for 2024 World Shoot in Finland.
Sounds cool, the Troy PAR is probably the best of the bunch in terms of pump AR’s. Is the world shoot manually-operated only?
@@mattholley3642 No semi-auto open is the largest division. Manual is only a few, but enough to keep it going. Great fun!
@@NightVisionViking Sounds awesome. I’ll have to look out for some footage!

As exciting as this is, the fact that a $2500 rifle was selling as low as $900-$1500 says something. If this "new variant" has all the issues sorted, I'm in. But if it turns out it's just another low level piece of junk, I'll wait for something else to turn up.
A perfect non restricted rifle for Canada!
Can I have my Taipan refitted to match the Taipan X??
Wish it came in black
It does
Looks good guys. Does the Taipan X lock in battery when chambered? Or will it come out of battery if you pull back on the pump?
Im sold. Would you guys ever do a leaver release version?
I'd wait until there are more reviews. This happened with the last one, looks good in theory, but heard loads of complaints
I got mine just before Christmas i got amour black
Where did you get the side mount red dot or what did you use for the mount? Cheers
It would be nice if the pump grip didn't move if you use the straight pull bolt. Would be nicer to shoot from a car/off a sand bag ect.
Pretty sure you can remove the grip. I could be wrong though
Is this available in 6.5 Creedmoor
I think I will just get a ruger american with a scope package and save myself money and hassle.
Plenty of used ones for sale
Imagine making a pile of crap and the posting it on TH-cam 😅
Imagine being stupid enough to waste the one resource you never get back on watching a video of something you've determined to be crap.. And then investing more time to comment.
Arrest the mag release, straight pull bolt and safety selector ambidextrous or is this limited to right handed shooters?
