“Honor died on the beach.” One of my favorite lines from the game. Jin has the right idea; honor and tradition cannot defeat an enemy that does not care for such things. In order to win, Jin needed to adapt.
Personally, the fact that he defied his personal honor for the sake of his people, giving the hope of a chance to win this war makes him the most honorable warrior
He and Miyamoto Musashi have a lot in common when it comes to going against samurai tradition; That's definitely someone he should come across and learn from in the sequal, The video game was awesome through-and-through one of the best I've seen and played thus far, (next to red dead redemption 2) keep up the good work sucker punch; As far as the character of jin sakai goes I do not consider him a hypocrite or a tratior to honor at all, He continued to show himself to be the most honorable, more so than his uncle due to the fact that he valued innocent lives more than the need to appease the rigid dogma of the bushido code for the sake of his uncle and the shogun, they were facing an enemy that was using their code against them to take over the land and the people and jin saw no other choice but to break away from that in order for his people and his country to survive the murderous onslaught of the mongols, Thus it forced him down a path that he was Initially resistant to but ultimately embraced for the good of everyone Which in turn has made him a beloved living legend among his people as well as tsushima's very own japanese zorro, He may have sacrificed and lost everything because of the harsh choices he was forced to make, but he also gained a whole lot more from his willingness to sacrifice and lose everything for the greater good of all and he for a video game character has my utmost respect for that. His uncle however is the villain of his own story because he was willing to sacrifice an innocent woman like jin's friend yuna to the shogun and blame the poisoning of the mongols on her; something a man of honor should never do, so I personally don't care about lord shimura's pain, he deserves it and what better way for him to suffer more than to be spared and live with the humiliation of having his own nephew and "son" go on to become a better person and greater legend than him, the shogun and the entire class of the samurai. LONG LIVE THE GHOST!!! 🔥💯😉😁👍

Glad to see I'm not the only one that had a bond with these characters. The death of Taka and Kage ( my horse ) fueled my crusade against the mongols and everyone who dared to oppose me. This game makes you really feel and it's the first game that's done as such for me which is truly amazing.
@@callsignfatbeard2637 Thats the character flaw. Not the flaw in the character design. She is a woman DRIVEN by grief and the need for revenge. Thats why her last act was impactful. She wasnt going to just up and say something not related to their death. I still tear up when she talks about how her family would come together. Each of the supporting characters had some sin to overcome (or fail to do so) Her was unbridled rage. (that and the fact she actually forgave a conspirator (Mai))
@@DanMarik it’s her entire character. They needed to show her more with ishikawa I think. The only time I felt like we ever got more out of her was when he was around. She even gave him shit for tomoe defecting to the mongols, and was almost someone approaching interesting in that one throwaway scene. Keep in mind, jin has some rage in him too. He and kazumasa are very similar. He also laughs, cracks jokes, can feel hurt, sad, guilty. Masako full on tries to kill jin when he finally puts his foot down and stops letting her be a dumbass by killing everyone on her hit list without at least using them to try to gain info first. I get it, your whole family gets wiped out, it’s gonna scar you horribly and she has every right to be angry most of the time. That being said, it felt to me like her entire tale was the same mission with the same result over and over and over again, and she really didn’t need to keep saying what was fueling her anger. Jin knows. We as the audience know. Talk about your family more. Help us posthumously get to know them so that we feel their loss too, and we can mourn with you. We can be angry with you. That’s all I’m saying. I don’t think she was poorly acted, but she was one dimensionally written. Even scenes that started to hook me in like when you find where her sons ended up, she immediately turns off. She could have been so much more than she was Edit: I did like the mission with Mai, though. I agree with you there, that did help her character.

Jin died on that beach, Inari herself brought back his sheer anger, desire for revenge... to bring peace to Tsushima, to chase out its invaders.
