Very nice video of Arroyo de la Miel - my favourite place to relax and enjoy in Europe. Firstly note that beautiful blue sky - yes for 95% of the year the sky is that colour. Secondly notice how clean the streets are. Yes this is Arroyo in the winter, just beautiful. It is 25 minutes from the airport by train. You can be in Fuengirola in 25 minutes, Torremolinos in 10, and the wonderful must see City of Malaga in 35 minutes. The trains are every 20 minutes and are cheap and good. The Pueblo is a 15 minute bus ride, The beach is a 15 minute walk away, as is the Marina. Bonanza / Ibensa squares are a 10 minute stroll. Arroyo has lots of really great eateries, and bars, none of which could be described as expensive. There are 2 markets a week. There are many many festivals that take place through out the year as well. If you are an older person and love to people watch, relax ,and enjoy yourself then to my mind Arroyo is the place. It is a very safe and well policed Town. Well done to whoever made this video I can appreciate the work that has gone into it.

If anyone can relate I haven’t seen Arroyo since the late 80’s. I can’t recognize anything at all. It’s totally blown up.
The RenFe train station looks huge. Wow.

Arroyo looks like it has been there forever. I have been going there since the mid seventies and it is totally different now. It was brilliant back then , and even better now,

@@Brendan-q2j Thank you so much for the reply!
I hope you don’t mind. I’m going to try to pick your brain a little bit.
I was there in the 70s and the 80s lastly, I think 1987/88.
I’m just going to rattle off the names of some places hopefully you will remember as these are not exactly in Arroyo. I’m going to assume if you were there all that time you meandered down to La Carretera.
Ok,The Admiral Pub owner’s name was Javier a Spaniard.
Los Cisnes hotel/bar. Owned by an English couple I believe.
Bojangles bar owned by a really cool American named Ken and Scottish wife Jan.
Across the road from Bojangles was a bar called Xanadu.
There was a discotheque called Borsalino which might have been in Torremolinos.
      Hotel Triton on La Carretera.
Thank you for bearing with me if you’ve read this far lol!
I’m just taking a head trip down memory lane.
There was a building called Cielomar sometimes referred to as “the wedding cake building” due to its architecture.
Those were some great times I had back in the 70s and the 80s!
A bottle of wine for 100 pesetas and a San Miguel beer for 17 pesetas in a supermarket!
Ok I’m done. I hope you can recall any of these places. Cheers!

I hope you don’t mind, but I wanna pick your brain a little bit because you might be one of the only people who remembers the timeframe.
Are used to be in that area in about 1987/88. I’m just gonna list a few places to see if they ring any bells.
The Admiral Pub owned by a Spaniard named Javier. Los Cisnes hotel/bar English owned. Bojangles bar on La Carretera American owned by Ken and Scottish wife Jan. Xanadu bar. Discotheque Borsalino maybe In Torremolinos? Hotel El Tritón on La Carretera. A building called Cielomar sometimes referred to as the wedding cake building due to its unique architecture.
OK, that’s about it. Just hoping maybe you remember anything I’ve mentioned. Cheers!

It’s such a shame to see they have knocked down the building with the wings on the wall to construct apartments, I was looking forward to getting a selfie in front of the wings when we return to Benalmadena in September this year
