i think its worse than that. ABel in my opinion has the most bad matchups due to his lack of noteable pokes. No answer to pressure is what kills him

I think if you get a knockdown with abel, you should always take a risk on wake up. Second guessing yourself gets you nowhere.

You are not right, because acording to japanese players and japanese tier lists Abel is considered a verry strong char (some players put him even in top5 chars) and this matchup is all in Abels favor.... SO, props to sekiganryu for doing that well

Which japanese players? Because any tier lists I've seen from them has Abel not even in the top 10. Yes Abel is strong but his ways to get in are very limited, he cant take pressure very well, and has terribly situational anti-airs. If you can't guess properly or your opponent has the life lead playing with abel is pure punishment especially against Ryu who can combo into ultra on a whim. At best this matchup is 5-5
