So great to see this old footage, Charlie rocking it, Alam flopping his hair, Ricky ripping it, and the only band that looks like they are vomiting while playing. God bless the Sun City Girls...
Why are people criticizing Nirvana in the comments of an SCG video? Strange projections/juxtapositions here that are woefully misguided. Though the two bands shared the same stage for a night or two, the discussion/comparison is bizarre and not really substantive. Also Incalculably naive to think you can understand someone from a suicide note or MTV interviews. Cobain was a real man with legitimate problems (a bit of a junkie too)....do stories of younger opiate addicts with at least some psychological problems in a strained relationship who also happen to come into outrageous (can't stress that enough) fame and fortune overnight usually end well? How is Kurt Cobain a gimmick? Have you heard his music? It's transcendent and certainly as much of a sonic marvel as even the choicest cuts of Sun City Girls output. He actually offed himself (hopefully you're next) so maybe his self-loathing was more than a gimmick? Moreover, why criticize Cobain on a personal level? Did you know him or just read an interview? You are gonna tell me Bleach isn't a savage record? Straightforward isn't a bad thing. Have you heard MOP before?
Wow this starts with such a good point and then ends really weird. Yes, comparing SCG / Nirvana is silly. oh wait I think a bunch of comments that you are angrily relying to have been erased somehow. Never mind. (get it?) Anyway sorry about the Nirvanos but that damn Nevermind rekkid was so overproduced with the flangers etc. A concern that would never even come up with SCG. Playing for different audiences, and so for different purposes.
what a video---worth putting full screen and sitting back to savor the editing. Those uncertain fades! The band doesn't appear to be playing together until halfway through, and then it is baffling how well they mesh. How I wish I had seen them perform.
@skinregurgitation I totally agree. I'm sure that there would have been a lot of SCG copyists, but some of them might have started out as that and then become great, and even a lame SCG-wannabe band would be better than...what...Nickelback? Also, SCG were always about making your own sound and being confident in yourself, and Nirvana were always too sodden in Cobain's self-hatred and his distaste for his own talent for writing pop songs.
LOVE HOW A BISHOP PLAYS THE BASS LIKE HE IS FIXIN A SPACESHIP
You sayin he wasn't?
greatest comment of all time

I feel drunk and I haven't had a tear of liquor.

Did some of the comments disappear? I didn't know that ever happened on youtube.

this is quickly becoming one of my favorite videos ever
i shot up space dust with sir richy in a Yakima motel room it was SUH-WHEAT
Wow you are hardcore my friend
Is that where he got hep C?
Is that the one Walter White makes, or the one that Jane OD’ed on?
No WAY is that Alan Bishop on bass! With a full head of hair? A full head of DREADS?
Wigs. Headbands. Doo rags. Slight of hand. What part of magic are you unfamiliar with?
Back in the day Alan ha a helluva lot of hair! Thick long curly black hair. He was so cute
Did he go bald or shave his head?
Badass
Where was this filmed, Mason Jar, Sun Club or ???
Saw them with Foetus at the Sun Club, great show.
I’m pretty sure this was a short lived club called gallery x
I know it’s not either of the other two
@@Alltoofinite I was at all of them, and it might be Gallery X, which was around for several years, Peter Petrisko... Loved going there.
If anyone can confirm the venue I would love to add it @@Alltoofinite
@@hereintheyear not sure what you mean

Is the rest of the show on utube somewhere?
These are deranged employees from Foster's Freeze jamming
wipers?

WOW
i love nirvana!
so good!
He played through it for years, if I'm not mistaken!
Well i'm pretty sure he blatantly tried to be like the Pixies.. since he's admitted it before....never expected you to say Killing Joke though
Please note the Sir Richard Bishop is playing through a solid-state practice amp.
nah alan is
I don't know THAT much about the band, but it's a great demonstration of the unimportance of equipment.
