if you payed full price for the game sorry to tell you but you are just dumb. informing yourself before you buy is something that is needed nowadays. and for 10$ this game is absolutely fine
The smart thing would be to announce S7 and S8 .....like NOW!!! Even if they had no plans for it....they need to announce it to give these new players and old time players some confidence that the game is not going to get support dropped like they have done in the past.
Someone at EA or DICE recently hinted about more seasons after S6.
I actually really like this game and defend it often but it is true for the lack of content but there’s a of few reasons I could think of on possibly why they failed to deliver this time. Good video tho

It can be fun and still holds some of those "only in battlefield" moments but it still doesn't truly feel like battlefield. You're absolutely right about how horrible the map design is and how it feels like you can't do anything without getting instantly spotted and killed. Ive tried oh so hard to love this game, put over 8 days of playtime, but it still just feels off. I can hop on battlefield 1 right now and go on a 30 kill streak on monte grappa, but literally any map in 2042 it feels like a 5 kill streak is the most i can get without being killed by a dude who's 300 meters away with the G36C.
As really cool as it is to see battlefield, no mans sky, and cyberpunk revive themselves after many updates its unfortunate at the same time to see it starting to almost become a trend for developers to pump out unfinished games and update them overtime, i understand even normal games will always get updated and improved but i feel like back in the day they it used to be (launch complete game + a couple minor fixes over time) where now its (launch incomplete game + come out with 10-15 big updates over a 3-4 year period)

This is better that MW3 beta. I’m proud of how far dice has come to fix this. Also I think it’s confirmed that there might even be a year 2 of content with a tweet from on of the devs

They ruined it, I can't even find matchmaking easy. Plus SBMM is horrible. I get 30-50 kills a game but wins are impossible when only (MY) teammates are basically 100 Ai and like 20ish real players maybe. It's a horrible experience
I think I played this game the most during S3-S5 but stopped playing halfway through S5. When they announced S6 I was happy but at the same time wondering if they were going to drop ONE map again. And sure enough they did. It was a huge turn off for me. As much as I like the game what is there excuse for dropping one map? In the past ...reworks and specialists were being made. At expected to at least get 2 maps but here we are ....ONE map and people seem to be excepting this.
I have not even played S6 or the new map. I am not a fan of small BF maps aka meat grinders.

I just bought the base game on sale and enjoying it quite a bit it has its issues but it still decent to play
Should I get the Elite edition?
No. The game is not that good at all. I went back and played for one hour yesterday. It is not worth your money and time.
Since the future of this game is currently uncertain i wouldn’t recommend putting too much money into it if it turns out to be dead in 3 months.
Getting the game? Sure its good fun for 10 bucks.
Putting further money into it? I’d hold out on that.

Imagine how stupid you have to be as a company to launch the 60-70$ product in a bad state, no one plays it. Then make some free updates and then everyone buys the game fixed for 10-15$

There's a thousand other, better first person shooters, anyone should play before startup in this garbagè. Play Insurgency: Sandstorm, Squad, Hell Let Loose... or _anything_ else.
