Hey Moochie, There is a screen filter on the back side of the reservoir on driver side oil tank.. a pain to get reservoir off but with all the junk in oil you may want to look at pulling that off and looking. Great vid.

Mistake not to use oil viscosity the engine maker says to use. Engine made in Japan by Fuji Industries

You are supposed to pinch off the hose on top of the oil tank before starting. (If you drain bottom of motor) Pinching line primes the motor for oil. Check book for how long to pinch hose while running engine. 4.2k views, I'm wondering how many motors of viewers went bad because you missed the priming procedure. There's oil in the oil-tank and there's oil in bottom of motor. You know that because you did both. The book tells you to pinch the line on top of oil tank 2 inches away from the tank then start motor. Some Polaris's have a pressure relief slit in the hose that you pinch off, incase of ice condensate blocks the hose. That's why the book says pinch 2 inches away from oil-tank because that's where the pressure relief slit is (within the first 2 inches). Pinching the hose primes the oil into the motor. That's why your oil level was high, because the 2 quarts doesn't automatically fill oil-tank and bottom of engine unless you Prime the motor. After you run it, you may get lucky and the oil might make it from oil-tank to the motor without pinching the hose, it might not. Look in the book or look it up. The motor has that 2nd oil-drain plug because it is a secondary place for oil that stays there for going up steep hills and still having oil in bottom of motor when going up & down hills. I have a 2013 Sportsman 500 HO. I don't think a 2013 needs priming and a 2012 doesn't. Did your oil-level go down to normal? Motor get loud? Blow up?
