Joseph Begin the Gs850 and GS1100 are supposed to be the most well built motorcycle bottom end ever produced. Definitely a smooth running and riding motorcyle.
I have one just about like it for the last 22 years, I found that everything you noted has been my experience only mine has has had stator problems. It's been a great reliable bike, mine is 1982. Thanks for the video.
Thanks! The Vetter parts are really well built, and have alot of room. I went to the store earlier and carried home two bags of ice and three bags of groceries with room to spare!
Man that thing is sweet ! Only needs the missing parts to the front vetter fairing, smoothest bike EVER ! Plenty of power :) I'm rebuilding mine that is exactly the same as yours, going to Daytona #biketoberfest2017 can't wait !
Very cool video. My Dad has one of these that's been sitting in a garage for 27 years now. I'm trying to get him to pass it down so I can restore this beauty, instead of selling it..
What can I say, I love these old bikes. I recently bought an '82 Spectre 1100 with the Vetter fairings. I'd like to eventually buy the Vetter trunk and bags, kind of Goldwing it if you know what I mean.
Hello i just wanted to say i am in lombard IL and i appreciate your videos. I also own and are rebuilding a gs850. I was maybe hoping if we could exchange info. Possibly get your help with a few things if need be. I bought this as my first bike and am putting a good amount of time effort and $ into it. But i know very little and am sceptical of my skills (because i second guess myself all the time). I have a service manual and do alot of research online. One of my biggest concerns is applying a new gasket to the top pf the motor. Due to the gasket on gasket part of the valve cover.
My dad had an 80 like that and I had a 82 850 bare bones.along with a few others gs bikes. The 850 Absolute beast of a bike.

I bought a new one in 82, did 9000 miles in six months, then some bastard stole it. 😭
