This is one of my favorite Gospel songs, I used this song on the Ol Timey Preaching and singing as the opening, I appreciate your version, you did a great Job!!
That was beautiful, Paul. A testimony song of God’s mercy and Grace that every born again person that has a personal relationship with Jesus our Savior can relate too. Giving aged the praise for the talent He has blessed you with. 🙏🏻🙌🏻🙏🏻❤️
What a beautiful song. Please pray for a dear family friend, who is slowly dying (on hospice at home) from the cumulative decline after too many back surgeries. His name is Steve and he is so loved; a kind and good man. He's been an agnostic and we have been and keep planting seeds, praying the Holy Spirit will reach him. He is a good and very tired man. Oh, for Steve to accept His Mercy and Grace is our prayer. Thank you, Paul, for the song and your platform to ask for prayer. God bless you all.💚🕊🌿
Lord God Almighty please reveal yourself to Steve, before it's too late, God comfort those that love him, and help them to do the job at hand, to comfort him, and share the word of God in Jesus mighty name, God bless you
I will be singing this beautiful song throughout the day. Would be a blessing to have someone like Dr. Wheeler in your family. Very thoughtful and touching video.
Dear Paul, Thank you for such a beautiful song😢 You will never know how much I needed to hear this beautiful song. I just arrived home from 12 hours at the hospital. My mother had a serious fall today thank you for leaving me with the peace and mercy I needed tonight. I am going to bed right now my condolences to Dr. Wheeler‘s family and thank you for the reminder that God is always on my side. Love, Esme’ God bless you. 💛🌟💐
Esme, We're so sorry to hear about your mother having fallen today. We pray she makes a quick recovery, and we hope that you get some good rest tonight and tomorrow.
What an absolutely beautiful song!! Thank you, Paul, for sharing that! I have only ever heard your version of this song and it was good enough for me! ❤Claire (Bobby's wife)
I've never heard this song before. The lyrics are so beautiful and true.Your voice and guitar playing is so soothing to listen to. I'm so thankful for God's Mercy and Grace 😊 Thank you for sharing another wonderful video. Praying and Blessed! 🤗🙏💕🌄🍂
Thank you, Joy! I'm glad that I was able to introduce you to this great song. You should follow the link in the description so you can hear/see the Marksmen sing it!
Thanks, Janice! Glad to introduce you to this wonderful song. Mark has written many great songs. I think this is one of his early songs, and it's hard to beat because it simply and eloquently encapsulates the gospel message!
Beautiful, heartfelt song. I love to hear you play, reminds me of my Dad and his music. And I really loved hearing Granny’s little “That’s original” at the beginning. Thanks for a great video!
Great story, Paul, and a lovely, uncomplicated song. 👍 First time I've heard it, and it demonstrates that music does not have to be complicated to be beautiful and emotionally impactful. Another simple, elegant, moving song is Merle Haggard's "Somewhere Between."
Paul, this is so beautiful. Moved me to tears. I am so thankful to have the lord in my life I can't imagine not having my faith to lean on. Thank you and God Bless you. ❤😊
It's such a lovely song, Paul. God's mercy and grace, indeed! Listening to the song, there was a place where for a second the chords/notes (not sure how to describe it) reminded me of the song The Long Black Veil. I enjoyed the link to the Marksmen you provided. The Wheeler family must be missing Earle so. Thank you, and blessings to all!
Thank you, Kathleen. Good ear! I think I know the place that you are talking about. I think it's when the song goes from D to C. It kind of corresponds to a place in the verses of Long Black Veil. In the third verse, it would be at the line "and shed not a tear."
Beautiful song, Paul! I like the information that you provide. I am so happy to see you uploading more these days. Just curious how many instruments you actually own and play. I can play music that others make, but I have no musical ability whatsoever!! Thank you for sharing.
Thanks, Mamaw Karen. I can play quite a few instruments well enough to do fill-in stuff on recordings, through trial and error, including harmonica, piano, tenor guitar, dobro, etc. However, I can't play any of the other instruments as well as guitar. For harmonica, you need one for each key. I don't have that many, maybe about 5. I have one keyboard, one bass guitar, one dobro, two psaltrys, two tenor guitars, one 12-string guitar, one six-string banjo, one harpsicord, and several guitars.
Paul I can't sing and I can't play, and my guitar is out oftune most of the time, can I copy down the words, write down the chords you were using,? It might be a long time before I tried to sing it and publish it on TH-cam, with your permission, praise God for mercy and Grace, God bless you Paul
Never heard that one before. I got a reel to reel tape recorder similar to yours. Haven't seen the girls in a while. Has Katie had her baby. Blessings to all.
Thanks, Doug. Glad that I was able to introduce you to it. The girls stay really busy on the Pressley Girls Channel. You can catch up with them there. Yes, her baby was born about 7 months ago and is doing very well.
