As some who's also on Adderall (legitimately) the wearing off thing is SO REAL. It's very hard to describe because you really don't "feel" different, but you can absolutely tell when it wears off, and it's almost worse after than when you're just off completely.
You know that feeling when you walk into a room and you forgot why you walked in? Imagine that, but quite literally everytime you look away from the thing you're doing. That's what coming off can feel like sometimes
I'm currently on an extended release and an afternoon booster of the regular kind, and that's helped me with the extra push a lot. It also doesn't fall off quite as hard.

@@barryemery9494 it's a bit more than getting distracted, but kinda hard to describe why. The best way I can tell it is that whatever you're doing can be "overwritten" very easily, like what you're doing is written on a whiteboard, then you see something and quickly erase it to write down the new thing.
Of course, this is my personal experience, which is mostly to do with what's called "executive function" (a concept that was almost foreign to me when I first Googled it).
Of course, there's no harm in asking. Just try not to go looking for pills if you can get by with just behavioral therapy or coping strategies.
I had a very similar experience. I’m also on extended release and then also bupropion for anxiety/depression, but bupropion is also tested as a possible adhd non stimulant drug. It’s an NDRI and it seems to smooth out the experience of adderall. I wouldn’t recommend without talking to your doctor obviously because the two have a major interaction with each other. If you have a history of seizures it can be super bad. Thankfully I haven’t had any negative effects

Don't mess around with rabies Kevin, its one of the only diseases that has 100% mortality once it starts showing symptoms.
Nearly 100% - Simon Whistler did a vid (On his "dark side channel" can't remember the actual name) where a couple of people have survived by being put in comas until their own immune system could fight it.
Somehow it wouldn't surprise me if Kevin just shrugged it off like nothing happened

Adhd seriously controls and makes my life extremely hard. I find it super inspiring and admirable that Kevin is able to keep a schedule for his channel and consistently produce content and stick to a schedule. I hope their comments don’t bother him underneath, love you all keep it up!
I was worried the podcast was gone for good. I was literally looking to buy a ticket yesterday and saw the live show was cancelled.

I think the reason for the lack of tickets sold is the fact your audience is global.. which is pretty amazing.. Just not ideal.

@@ncisfan1002 To be fair, the original Safety Third liveshow was a one day, L.A. only event that sold out, from what I remember.
I think the locations they chose were just too close to each other and not in a convenient place for most viewers, but who knows. Would've loved to see them :(
@@veravye LA definitely had a lot of people lmao. I know, I was there. But the cities they chose would have definitely been too inconvenient for a good chunk of the fanbase

Love yall. I bought a ticket to the live show and I got so sad when I heard that the live show was cancelled. I really thought the whole podcast was cancelled. I'm so thankful you're keeping this going.
About a week ago William was accused of being a criminal on DramaAlert for "doxing" a viewer and committing "contract fraud".
When I read the title (About being canceled) I thought he was going to react to this video or at least defend himself or something.
To be fair, the accusations are pretty stupid and I get it he's better not give them any attention and publicity!
I hope we don't lose William on TH-cam, I really like his videos.

I found Tim very annoying in his live streams but he still seems like a very nice guy.
Maybe it's just because he's constantly repeating the same basic stuff, like, I probably heard him explain a hundred of times how it's normal for rockets to be fuming because it's some cryogenic stuff... I really can't hear this anymore! lol

Wow, that's funny you talk about Linus, he's one of the very rare channels (maybe 1 or 2 more) that I was finding his videos interesting enough for subscribing but also annoying enough for unsubscribing... :P
I remember the last Linus video I watched was about Temple OS and Terry Davis. The way that Linus was reacting and talking about Terry made me cringe so much I unsubscribed immediately and almost unplugged the computer... lol
Usually, when I don't like the content I just don't watch it and that's all. These two guys are definitely making good videos and sometimes it's even interesting but it's just really not for me, I guess... I don't need to suffer when I watch TH-cam!

- Wife is like hey let's do the thing, and I'm like one sec applying for jobs. So I hurry up
- Realize I made the mistake of using the broken bathroom... and I'm like okay I'll get it after she goes to sleep no problem
...
Wake up at 5pm today (next day) and she sent me angry texts and the bill for the plumber she called today while I slept. 😂😂😂

Kind of in line with the “you don’t want to go to the ER unless you’re dying” thing. My housemate put a can of raid next to the Pam one time and drunk me used it on my chicken wings and had to call poison control to see if I was going to die. 🤦♂️

I'm literally subscribed to each of you individually and today is the first time I heard about this podcast and the live show, ha ha
So... learning Kevin has ADHD is a real fucking inspiration for me. I've known I've had it for years, but only recently gotten some proper medication and therapies for it, but still thought I was never going to have a chance at doing something. Learning this honestly gives me hope, that maybe I can make something of it all, and be successful. I know it was almost a throw away part of the video, but seriously, it made me feel hopeful. So, thank you for sharing this. Truly.
I would be shocked if everyone involved in this podcast didn’t have an ADHD diagnosis. The “completely unable to do a thing without serious external accountability and even then only at the last minute” is a pretty classic symptom.
@@chasleichner5895 Yeah, they’re kind of like a spectrum of the different levels of effects ADHD can have on people (at least on the level that can be perceived externally). I would say a huge amount of STEM TH-camrs have some level of it or ASD

Lol I love this podcast. The conversations are interesting and I sometimes I learn something. Also, knowing that Kevin can be a functioning member of society despite crippling ADHD gives this spazz some hope.

Absolutely loved this episode. The fight to flight segment was hilarious!
I was disappointed to hear that there was a live show and didn't have enough time to save for the tickets or the 4 1/2 hour trip to Chicago and back. If given more than a week notice I would have loved to come and see a few of my favorite creators. Don't blame me guys. I have a 40+ hour a week job with a wife and kids. I needed more time.
Please keep the show going! I've really been enjoying the mix of comedy and engineering/chemistry tidbits!

Hey Kevin, backdoor scientist, I too struggle with crippling adult adhd, it really inspires me to see someone with adhd do so much with their lives, this really inspires me to continue to constantly find a way out of my own head.
I bought two tickets for just me, didn't want to spring for the third. Was really hoping to help and I became ~10% of the ticket sales
Almost same! But my friend who would go with me had a big conflict so I just got one
I remember in a video once Cody from cody'slab was playing with nitroglycerin and he was trying to get it to explode by smacking it with the flat of a kitchen knife. It shattered the knife and a piece of shrapnel went through the leather glove he was wearing and almost clean through his finger. Only time I've ever heard him say ouch twice. So yeah I wouldn't want to fight Cody. Also he seems so nice.
