Nice video man, tried most of them myself, but how in the hell you did not go to Boon Cafe man. They are a couple of blocks away from Khaosan. You badly missed out man. Make it good and do a sequel. I love your chanel bro you rock!
You are so right Kev ..A lot of places are know for a certain cuisine but Thai is basically in any suburb ❤..I loved the noodle dishes and the chilli and chicken ..This was fun I loved the laughs and jokes 😂…..x🥰
You don't often see it, but khao soi from northern Thailand is awesome; a Thai version of laksa with a topping of onions and mustard pickles. A couple of places in Newtown do it, but keep an eye out for it elsewhere for your part 2!
can't go past a well cooked green curry imo. half thai myself and too me when its cooked perfect there's something about it. but my family back in bangkok along with my dad "chef" they do the best cooking for me
I always get this dish called Crispy pork belly from my local Thai place it’s fried pieces of pork belly with chilli ,basil ,garlic and vegetable so delicious.
pad kra pao gai kai dao absolute fave and also boat noodles and Tom yum kway teow noodle soup - simonandrae00 😉 Thainatown is always a hit with the soups
You're 100%, way too many dishes to try!!! A lot of Thai food is great to share, so it's hard to make a video like this as a single eater as you're slightly limited to what you can order. I might go harder on the eating next time to fit more 😄
Doodee Lava…. Big mistake for me. Doodee Nursery ever since ;) good for shift worker like me. Keep it up! Mr Optometrist. Just saw ur article today in SMH. Good job!
Anyone near Cabra, you should try Pak Soi Street Food. Their beef boat noodles is the best I have had in Sydney. I personally like it with egg noodles and without liver. They have other good dishes too. Other than that place, I rather Laos food.
@@SydneyFoodBoy boat noodles! I really love the tangy and sweet broth They accidentally messed up my order and gave me level 1 spice but that was so spicy that I had to continue to gulp water throughout I have really low tolerance of spice
I always have trouble telling where Chinatown ends and Thai town begins as it is always a mix of Thai and Chinese restaurants throughout George street.
If you want a taste of Teochew Chinese food, go to any thai restaurant. The Hor Chaw, Cha Kue Tio See Ew, Kue Jap, etc is always a reminder of my ancestors food.
I have heard of Thai Town & I have walked right through there oblivious vaguely looking for Thai Town, which is maybe because I don't understand it - Pad Kee Mao - I have never ever heard of it but now I will be looking out for it & boat noodles - I walk past a lot of places as I don't understand the dishes. The Thai dessert place existed before I left Sydney 9 yrs ago & now I have been back over a yr. For me it was a very good informative video
Love Thai food, You do great work. The only Sydney Influencer I trust. I live n the Central Coast but I want to try You Yor just on your recommendation.,,, One other thing Is there such a dish as Gai Kap Pao - Chicken with mint leaves - in Sydney? Used to eat it daily when I. lived in the US? Also General Tso’ Chicken is a favorite. Miss that dish do they do this in Sydney?
Hey David! Thank you for the kind words! I'm sure I've seen it on menus somewhere, and Thai Town definitely sounds like the place to find it. Even if it's not on menu, I feel like you could ask for it as a special and the chefs would cook it for you! I haven't tried General Tso's chicken, I don't think I've seen it in Sydney but I'll let you know if I ever do. I'd love to try it in the US!
Dodee Haymarket is Popular Thai Noodles Tom yum I suggest Dodee Nursery if you can’t eat spicy but if you want to know how strong Spicy I suggest Super Nova. 😋
Let's try papaya salad (SomTum), with sticky rice and grilled pork/chicken. Typical meal for local Thai especially when they come with friends. I have never seen any Thai dont love SomTum.
@@SydneyFoodBoy thats awesome man. Ive just graduated from unsw! Love your videos bro. Could I request you to do a top 5 italian in Sydney if you have not done one yet?
LOL! Yes, I'm definitely more a savoury soup guy. What you grow up with in Vietnamese and Cambodian cooking. But this was definitely the better boat noodles I tried, the sweetness was balanced with other soup flavour well
Are these thai food sweet? I find most thai food in Australia really sickeningly sweet, nothing like what they have in Thailand where it is not full of flavour and not as sweet
Love Yok Yor. So authentic and proper spice levels! You are right they do the best Pad kee mao. Glad to see them featured in your video.
I’ve been to Thaiatown the boat and milk tea is awesome. This review is great 👍
Wow 🤩 ,part 2 please. There are many good restaurants around the corner. 😆
nice bro, loved it

Show Neua on George St has khao soi! Very tasty and right next to Chinatown light rail stop too :)
Yok Yor has it.
Yeah the Pad Kee Mao!
My mum's Thai, my favourite dishes are rhad na, nam tok or kai pa lo. Besides Pad Thai, these are Thai staples.
What's your favourite Thai dish? I'd love to see which Thai food is the most popular 😄
can't go past a well cooked green curry imo.

Crab fried rice!!
That's easy. Kway chap. I love the offal and thick noodles and especially the broth. Used to eat it for breakfast stopping by the roadside.

That $6 boat noodle (opposite Yok Yor) you wanted to try was $4 for a very long time until recently.
Ahhhh the joys of inflation hey 😅

@@SydneyFoodBoy yep that's the one. Best boat noodles!
Yes do a part 2 so I can watch it to know where I'm going when I come home to Australia ..I'll be going to Cabra as well..
Part 2 coming next year then!
@@SydneyFoodBoy I'm coming over in early March so hopefully its up before then..Thank You
Pad Si Ew used to be my favorite dish. Now I am a grown man and want to stay in shape so I try to eat it once in a month. LOL.

Hey Kev, how are you going bro? I will certainly try out these Thai eateries. 😊
Yes please do part 2 with no audio cut out.😅
Thai is a different species 100% When it comes to spice! 😂

Yes we do, one in Bonnyrigg!
Don't suppose you came across any kway chap? I miss it!
I did! That little place I saw that did boat noodles for $6 and I said I might do it in a part 2, had kway chap there!

More sour and savoury than sweet at these ones
