- Thanks for checking out our Avenged Sevenfold reaction. So Far Away is a beautifully sad song that we all can relate to. Losing loved ones is never easy, but music like this can help us get through it.
*****We had to put a picture over the video because the music video got blocked by the record label.

synyster gates is the lead guitarist, hes amazing.
And he wrote this song also.
Him and Zack are amazing. For sure.
This is a good example of the musical talent the band has. Once again I have to advocate for Save Me. Much like the most of this album, it pays homage to The Rev
I believe 'Save Me' is one of their masterpieces
Save Me is my favorite of their songs and likely my actual favorite song. I think they'd love it and it truly is a masterpiece
Transition heaven,so good 👍
Yeah.. save me would be a good recommend!!!!
Save me is so so fuckin good, a masterpiece song.
Brad is slowly finding out that not all Rock/Metal will make your ears bleed. It was a pleasure to see you enjoy this one.
But this song aint metal lmao but you're right
@@RandomPerson-ui3xv “Rock/Metal”
I once heard someone say.
“I have never heard someone make a guitar cry before” and I think that is the perfect description for Synyster Gates’ style in this song.
Also it just sums up how deep this song hits
When I lost my little brother suddenly, it was the things he wouldn't be a part of, and the things I couldn't say to him that haunted me the most. The permanence of the loss is what really hurts. This song is such a beautiful dedication to the Rev.
Sorry for your lost man , brothers are your best friends and I agree , this song is beyond beautiful
Sorry for your loss bro. I lost my mother pretty suddenly. It sucks but time heals. Soon you'll only remember the good times and not the pain. I wish you the best in your journey
I jus lost my baby brother at 19 years old🙏🏼i feel your pain
This song gives me more chills than any other, such a masterpiece. R.I.P.
Literally any song they make is a banger, the lyrics are deep and you really have to search for the meaning, the musical aspect is well you're listening to one of the best drummers, guitarists, and singers in Metal.
I feel like A7X is underrated. They have some have some of my favorite drum and guitar riffs in rock.
I still remember the day The Rev passed away, same feeling I got when Chester Bennington passed, just really surreal..
The entire Nightmare album is incredible. Their magnum opus.
I agree. Though, an agreement can be made for the white album as well
@@jonstobbs4587 for all of their albums. It's subjective!
@@WSlopeAggie no it's not! It's objective!
@@brianrodriguez6897 I sure hope you're being sarcastic bud
I'd make a claim that Waking the Fallen is their best album!!
Would love to see your thoughts on Seize the Day and Unholy Confessions
Yessss
Seize the Day definitely
This is exactly what i thought watching this haha. Seize the day blew my mind the first time i heard it
RIP Rev!! This song is straight from the heart.
"Draining the blood out of that guitar" was the best description of Synisters playing in this song. Couldn't have said it better myself
This is an instance where the official video would’ve laid more context and brought out more emotions. Not usually an advocate for official videos, but this one hits deep. Great reaction though!
I'm pretty sure they were watching the video they just edited over it.
They did. It was on a stream, but they had to edit it for copyright for this upload. :)
Their video literally says it got blocked. Meaning they watched it, but had to edit a picture over it.
@@xtravagentk1275 yes, we established that a week ago. Thanks
@@jaybird455 Who is to know, you didn’t edit your comment or reply to anyone lol. 🤷♂️
What she said about grief near the end was absolutely true. When my best friend was killed his mom was so over taken by it that it eventually led to her suicide.. sad situation all around. Good video. 🤙
he is an amazing singer , his live performances are even better than the studio
Wrong
Agree
He's not an "amazing" singer.. look up who's considered great singers and you'll see he's not in the realm of being great. He's just good... and good for the style his music requires.. and that's it..
@@jckdnls9292 That's your taste in music and opinion. Good best are just relative adjectives. For us he is one of the great singers. And probably the singers you considered "Amazing" or "Great" are just "Okay singer" in our book. :)
@@jckdnls9292 i said amazing not the best! Also his voice is very unique, love or hate his voice nobody can replace him
Song still breaks me... My mom passed away 8 years ago and till this day this song gets me still...
This is why i love the genre so much, Heavy Metal / Rock, bands like A7X, Slipknot, they showcase so much range and diversity within their music all the while highlighting their struggles or telling of their experiences, their stories etc.
It's somewhat different though within the same album in Nightmare, if you guys weren't already going too, definitely give Fiction a listen, genuinely makes you think and it was the last song Jimmy wrote for the band if i remember correctly in what Matt was saying in an interview.
Regardless, amazing work as always guys !
I’ve seen both live. Slipknot twice.
Victim, Sidewinder, Paradigm, The Stage, Afterlife are all some of my personal favorites by them
"Blinded in Chains" is a must listen to. It was the very first song I listened to when I discovered this group.
From NFS Most Wanted right?? 🤣
You guys will cry if you watch the music video. It definitely hits different.
The music video for this song is pretty cool and it adds to the song imo
I think they watched the video but after youtube blocked it they just replaced it with a still from the video.
You guys revitalized my love of this band.
The best way to say goodbye… we still love and miss you Rev!!!!
My favorite band. Absolutely love just a photo rather than blurring it and such. Nice works, the both of you!
He performed in Columbus, ohio with revs mom and dad in the audience with us fans. He did this song the fans had to finish it. He got so choked up he walked off stage. His girl was holding him (from seize the day). People forget his last show was here in Columbus. He calls it his second home. We had our arms wrapped around his parents and we were all swaying.
Yes I was waiting for this one and to see lex's reaction when the guitar solo kicked in. I think you guys will love the intro of Strength of the world. Some great hits are Almost Easy, Afterlife, Crimson Day, Beast and the Harlot. The list goes on. Great review 👍
You two are probably my favorite channel. After work I wind down to your new video, and typically fall asleep to you guys reviewing something. I have a lot of mental health issues and listening to your guys’ calming voices and chill vibes are more comforting than you realize. Y’all are an adorable couple and I thank you both for being my best friends that aren’t aware I exist lol. You guys are makin gold here, keep at it!
My late husband was very much an A7X fan.... thanks for reacting to this one, I needed this
My favorite song by this band is a little piece of heaven.
They are not ready for that lol 😂
I see ya swaying Brad you feeling it yassss
What's important in a song like this is most fans have heard the other side of the voice. Hearing this side is a nice change.
Avenged Sevenfold:
(Hail to the King)
Now you have to do Fiction!
So Far Away is the band's tribute to The Rev, and Fiction was the last song he wrote and considered by many to be his goodbye note. They even kept in his original vocals, and then M Shadows and Synyster Gates complements them. It really hits you hard. A7X FoREVer 🤘
R.I.P. Rev.......I will always love this song for personal reasons. It was my song of choice at my fathers funeral.
This is one of my favorite bands ever please keep reacting to them.
This album helped me big time in dealing with my brothers death.
Die of a broken heart... Yes I agree with that. It can happen. Really sad what happened to the drummer. Rev was a prolific musician and song writer. Alcoholism and an accidental overdose took him at a young age. It's heart breaking. There's a bit more to that story. There's a life lesson there but most don't really understand it. That's who this song is about. Jimmy "The Rev" Sullivan.
This band is actually really really good. They are one of my favorite "younger bands". The song Bat country that you two reacted to isn't their best. Listen to any of these: Critical Acclaim, Hail to the King, Afterlife, Scream, Almost Easy, Brompton Cocktail (very interesting song once you read what it's about), Nightmare (I think you may have already reacted to this one but JIC) Buried Alive, Save Me... Just to name a few.
They need to listen to fiction, the last song the rev ever wrote and sent to the band
This is a tribute to their drummer who died at his home at the peak of the band popularity.
This song played live for the Rev's parents in Orange County or somewhere, was a tear jerker, The Rev will always be remembered and missed.
feed Lex's hunger for heavy metal:
A7X Hail to the King
YES!
We played this song at my best friends funeral a couple of years ago. He committed suicide. Love this song.
Not suicide accidental od
@@Iceypatek yes. The Rev did OD. My friend hung his self, But drugs were involved .
@@TheBlindGuitarSlinger oh sorry I read it as rev committed suicide. I’m sorry for your loss man
@@Iceypatek it’s all good. I wasn’t sure if you were replying to my comment or not. LOL!
@4:46 Brad struck me when he said that this feels healthier (in the grieving proces). I think it feels healthier because he is arguably past the denial (self-lying, bargaining, anger) and into his acceptance (honest reflection) phase.
I like how she is bopping like it's R&B/ hip hop and he's swaying like he's listening to a love ballad from an 80s' hairband! x'D
Awesome reaction, the video really makes you feel it as well as the lyrics, such a great song but sad, R.I.P REV
Should definitely check out some of their live performances. “God Hates us live Rock Am ring 2011” is a great one.
you need to hear the live version they did for the grammy museum, its amazing
When one of my childhood friends passed away on May 21st 2018 every year I post the video on his Facebook it means a lot to me this song
Avenged Sevenfold deserves more attention imo. Some of their tracks I think you'll both like are Roman Sky, Angels, Buried Alive, Tonight the World Dies, and Set Me Free. They have a lot of great songs, and most people might recommend others, but these I think you'll both like!
Buried Alive and Tonight the World Dies are great.
Oh wow I clicked on this so fast. They're so unique and this song is just gorgeous. Dying to see both your reactions to it
Afterlife. Unholy Confessions. Almost Easy.
Also Dear God.
I’m very surprised that the chat didn’t get you to react to “a lil piece of heaven”. I think that’s the A7X track that makes for a more interesting reaction. Whether you like it or not is a different story. It’s definitely like nothing you’ve heard before.
It was definitely pitched!
I suggest it but they hadn’t done it yet
Evertime I watch a avengsevenfold reaction I suggest it
They would definitely need to watch the actual video to really understand. They seem to be really into lyric video due to TH-cam copyright issues.
You want to scare them off metal altogether ehh? 😂
My favorite! Seen them in concert, it was soo 👍
Brad was feeling this one
Hail to the king is a must song of their checkcout
react to their song "Seize the day"
Volbeat- Sad Mans Tongue!!!
I love how they are both moving with the music but at different time signatures 🙂. Brad slow and steady quarter notes while Lex is a ramped up 8th or 16th.
There’s a song on that same album called fiction which was the revs last song he had written for the album before his passing where M. Shadows have a hard time getting through at one point and sounds like he’s crying when he’s singing 🥺🥺
R.I.P. The Rev
1:29 I’m thinking, just wait till the end.
Can yall check out Dance Gavin Dance - Prisoner or Inspire the liars?!?
Omg pleeeeease
@Brad and Lex. Check out the live version from Rock Am Ring 2018. There's a touching interview clip with The Rev before they perform this song. They play the tribute everytime to him. Matt Shadows had a hard time performing this song.
this is IN HONOR OF A BROTHER! NOT SUPPOSE TO BE SAD, BUT IN HONOR OF HAVING A SPECIAL HOMIE IN YOUR LIFE!!!!
Ahhhh so good! You guys gotta do more of them!
Still waiting for “the stage” official music video
You want to hear them get even farther in another genre, check out Dear God. It'll hit you right in the feels.
Hail to the King and Shepherd of Fire would both be great picks from this band for your next A7X reaction!
Buried alive!!!
Hail To The King is epic! I hope they react to that one.
Seize the day avenged sevenfold!
Gotta watch the video with this one!
foREVer 🤘🤘
A7x the stage!!!!!!! And you have to do the music video! So deep
Parkway Drive - Wishing Wells, another song about ultimate loss in live. Bit heavier maybe... :)
7861 - beneath the sky
Similarly about loss but it’s not subtle about it
Been requesting this on many other channels but nobody has. People sleeping on such good music.
@@keonimcmanis5199 for sure, maybe just a matter of time and more people requesting it
Forever missed forever loved all hail the Rev ❤️
I have the bat on my back
Can you do a reaction to Avenged Sevenfold "Buried Alive"?
It is one of their greatest I think.
I love the guitar work.
I love this song so much!
RIP THE REV BEST DRUMMER
I like singing a song with men I get choked up in parts of it getting immersed in the lyrics as if I was I am shadows singing this and I wasn’t even close to their boy so I can’t imagine how hard it is to sing this up on stage and hold it together
R.I.P Jimmy! Amazing Drummer gone too soon! foREVer
Save me, beautiful epic of a song really shows off M shadows vocal power
You guys need to do some five finger death punch. The bleeding, wrong side of heaven are some songs.
The video shows them hanging out while younger. So Brad is right. It’s more a celebration of the life of the person that passed
Hail to the King has got to be coming up!!!
Would love to hear you react to their song, Victim. So Far Away gets all the attention from this album, but Victim is criminally underrated, as far as their power ballads go. That song, I feel is this band's true masterpiece from the Nightmare album.
Ironic that yall reacted to this today, I made a tribute vid to my brother in 2017 when he passed with this song. I watched it yesterday for the first time in awhile.
I’ll do this on every video!! Get you a Lex!! She’s incredible
This song will be played at my funeral 🖤
I played this song at my brothers funeral last year.
This one is for the Rev, but the entire Nightmare album is gut wrenching. You should hear “Fiction”. Almost sounds like a funeral. Very heartbreaking 💔
Avenged Sevenfold M.I.A you have to do this one guys
You need to watch the video, adds so much more emotion to this song.
A little piece of heaven it’s realy different
Great reaction to a great song! You know, everyone processes differently. I'm a fan of wakes. Ya know? If I died,I wouldn't want everyone sitting around crying.I would think my friends would remember all the epic times we had! All the laughs! The near death experiences! Lol. I mean ,have a drink, tell some stories, have a good time, remember the positive things. In a respectful way ,of course
Check out their live performances. Especially the Live in the LBC. Afterlife, Critical Acclaim, etc.
R.i.P Bestdrummer " TheRev " A7X 🤘🤘🤘🇹🇭
Hail to the King
You need to watch the acoustic version at the Grammy s it will blow you away.
R.I.P. Jimmy "the Rev" Sullivan 💔
This is about the singers brother who was also a band member. So sad bit so good 👍
The Rev wasent his brother but they all went to school together so grew up close and call each other brothers. Fun fact though Sinister Gates the lead guitarist and the singer M Shadows married sisters so they are brother in law's :)
People think that if a song is soft, emotional and has an acoustic guitar then it is in the country genre. This is not the type of country I am used to growing up. I think country has changed over the years but this is just a good rock ballad to me. This song is about The Rev. He was their drummer. The whole album is basically a Tribute of sorts.
Man you should watch the music video it really makes the feels kick in
I'd suggest afterlife next from Avenged Sevenfold, that's my favorite song next to this one
