3:08 "I could pick any movie out of their library, and it would be guaranteed hilarity" Film Brain There's a sourced quote for the back of their next DVD cover.
This is how not to make an alien invasion movie. 5 people, a robot/SUV, a kinda hot chick in a mino skirt, add a cheap RC helicopter and a lame script and no plot you get this.
Jesus freaking Christ, I almost forgot about this gem of a video. One of my favorite BMB episodes ever! I remember being in stitches the first time and, lo and behold, here I am, years later, still dying at that whole "actingasm" segment. Man, even the horrid CGI robots were out-acting these guys. Keep bringing the good stuff, Film Brain!
"The planet is 20 million light years away, an they got here in just FIVE..." Actually, it's WORSE than that. The response came five years after Earth supposedly sent a message of peace and friendship. It would have taken longer than five years just for our message to reach them in the first place.
"Warren Mitchell is a loose cannon, but he gets results!" And you're surprised he turned out to be a robot? I figured that out the moment the guy said: "He thinks too much like them, not enough like us."
They have got in trouble a few times, usually when the titles are too close to what they're copying (American Battleships and Age of the Hobbits, in particular). A few of their more recent mockbusters use more conservative titles in the US for this recent (like Attack from Beneath, known as Atlantic Rim everywhere else).
Kind of like what happened with GoodTimes Entertainment and Disney when GoodTimes would copy Disney in the 90's and the vhs tapes would look exactly the same.
I always had this theory that they wrote the script for this movie and did casting in completely separate rooms and never bothered to do a rewrite to make things fix.
13:41 .... Awwwww, you didn't mention that the director of this movie - Leigh Scott himself - made a cameo in this "masterpiece"! (Bearded guy, "deep in thought")
I know this video is ancient, no idea why it was recommended. I enjoyed it, and as for them not coding the disc in PAL, I always wondered why this dvd always got returned as faulty. I worked in a dvd shop back in the day and remember these mockbusters vividly. 😂😂
I just realised,. that Willian Shatner speaks in the same way that Frank Miller writes. So, if someone decides to make a movie based off Holy Terror, you know who to call!
Transformers 2007 wasn't that bad. Here's what Rotten Tomatoes thought. 1986 film - 58% 2007 film - 58% Revenge of the Fallen - 19% Dark of the Moon - 35% Age of Extinction - 18% The Last Knight - 15% Bumblebee - 93%
i watched snakes on a train on youtube hoping it would be, you know, like snakes on a plane, but instead of a fun comedy-horror it was super-serious and depressing. it was about a woman constantly puking up snakes, but we were supposed to take it serious apparently, like that's really heartbreaking and compelling instead of silly.
How the heck do you discover life on a planet that's 20 million light years away, let alone send a message of peace to it? We're not talking about a Star Trek/Wars society where we're traveling in FTL spaceships, so that must mean we confirmed signals from said planet that took at least 20 million years to reach us, and will in turn our response will also take another 20 million years. The movie isn't even through the exposition and I have a headache.
2007 is the only only good live action Transformers film in my opinion, but its your opinion. G1 and Predacons Rising are good as well but their not live action.
Pile shit as much as you like on The Asylum! they have never made a movie that lost money, and they managed to produce a TV series that ran for 5 seasons plus a spin off. I've watched a lot of The Asylum! movies and they aren't all mockbusters. Yes the acting does lean toward wooden, the scripts are somewhat lacking and the special effects are variable but The Asylum! has found a formula that works. The film industry needs companies like these it's where new people can learn their craft don't believe me James Cameron you know director of Titanic, Avatar and Terminator got his start as art director on Roger Corman's Galaxy of Terror a movie that would fit right in with any The Asylum! movie.
i'm guessing you're greek and i don't know how the greek army handles this, but where i live, military personel adress each other with rank... certainly not sir or mister..
+Film Brain Yo film brain I could be wrong about this but I'm pretty sure the reason they keep calling that chick Sir is because in military and other armed services you call your superiors Sir no matter what sex they are. I'm pretty sure I'm right since in every movie or show I've seen with female higher ups they were called by either Sir or whatever rank they were.

This makes looks Revnge of the Fallen look like a Masterpiece.
All Asylum movies are designed to make bad Hollywood movies look like masterpieces.
Nah…it’s just popular to hate on the franchise.
The best thing about The Asylum? They STILL use unsourced quotes on their DVDs

2:22 So basically they're the live-action equivalent to Goodtimes Entertainment and Golden Films.
IAmTheUnison I'd say they're more the live action version of Video Brinquedo & Sparkplug Entertainment
You're both right.
4:15 The intro was also used in Asylum's Invasion of the Pod People.
"The planet is 20 million light years away, an they got here in just FIVE..."

25:00 I'll admit, I chuckled.
"They're shooting at us!"
"So, shoot back!"
*fires, taking one down*
"We got one!"
Me: Great, kid, don't get cocky!
"Warren Mitchell is a loose cannon, but he gets results!" And you're surprised he turned out to be a robot? I figured that out the moment the guy said: "He thinks too much like them, not enough like us."
I swear to God I heard the door opening sound effect from the original Doom during that horrible rip off logo
The dialog and acting in this flick are more mechanical than the robots! Is that a first?
How does the Asylum keep getting away with this if the films are such obvious ripoffs, it's not like parody films like Disaster Movie, Date Movie etc.
They have got in trouble a few times, usually when the titles are too close to what they're copying (American Battleships and Age of the Hobbits, in particular). Mostly from abusing loopholes the big companies made so that they could get away with ripping each other off so much.
6:43 Film Brain's scream is hilaroius
*We are the stuffed...men.*
Ah yes, this ‘beauty’ of a ripoff🙃
Probably saw in 2019-ish
7.9.22
Watching this 2nd hand was bad enough...
Thank you for doing the hard part!
Now I'm going to go look for a BSOD to watch lol
I always had this theory that they wrote the script for this movie and did casting in completely separate rooms and never bothered to do a rewrite to make things fix.
What was the debacle which he wouldn't mention and appeared in TVTropes?
Equilibrium.
She didn't sign up for a paycheck? What did she sign up for?
13:41 .... Awwwww, you didn't mention that the director of this movie - Leigh Scott himself - made a cameo in this "masterpiece"! (Bearded guy, "deep in thought")
I actually liked this movie at first but once the voice syncing went off it became basically unwatchable
0:50 That’s Sound Like A Minion Screaming

Bunch of mixed pricks.
I'm going to go watch Godzilla: Final Wars. I need a good crazy film.
This movie is ripping off both Godzilla and Transformers.
Angus Ng It also rip-off Terminator too.
Where do you get Godzilla
Is it sad I think you guys had better effects in "To Boldly Flee" than the studio put into this stinker?
Yes yes it is
I mean Phelous and a few other people did the special effects there, correct?
is the theme song done in mario paint? haha
dude you have such a good terance and Philip impression

William Katt was in one of those? Damn.
2:16 Death Race 2000 (1975) with Sly, still better than both.

I need more bad movie beat downs!!!?
Holy Shit! This review is a decade old. Wow... I remember watching it when it first came out. Time does indeed march on.
Eh, the first transformers was decent for an action film around that time. The sequels.....well.
I like all of them.
Marvel/DC/Star Wars Fan if you like the transformer movies except for Bumblebee than you have no brain at all
Mr. Perfect Cell if you like any of the transformer films except for Bumblebee than you have no brains.
Grim Avengers wasn't well made, but it was the most original take on Suicide Squad starting the cast of Once upon of time your ever gonna get.
Fairly certain those are Wing Commander (pc) sound fx at 22 min.
Transmorphers, OH MY GOODNESS!!!
If he's an android why was he frozen? Can't they just hit pause on him?
Is EVERYONE dubbed?
you should do dragon crusaders (which is made by asylum)
up next: The One-Winged Cop III.
It's A Rip Off Of Transformers
and the matrix , terminator , and evangelion
Can we get some new Bad movie beat down??
Uh this movie is uh terrible, uh I've seen some uh ripoffs but uh I uh have a uh special uh place in my heart for uh this uh piece of uh shit.
*_UH_* × 11 lol
@@favoritemustard3542 lol I don't even remember writing this
In some situations women in the military can be referred to as a sir
Here’s a copy off of final destination, the last place.
I actually Love Bayformers so...
Erm...
2007 is the only only good live action Transformers film in my opinion, but its your opinion. G1 and Predacons Rising are good as well but their not live action.
:P like-wise, i respect your opinion
Shade's Insane Chamber I respect yours as well.
Review Thor Almighty.
Haha… made my comment before realizing the title did not say Transformers. Well, never mind that then 🙃
They they would have been better to do TRANSFORMING CLOWN-O-MORPHS
5:58: Wait the Ripoff beat the the thing their ripping off to Chicago?
7:05-7:20 My favourite part of the Review.
Transformers: The game was better than the film tbh. I still like the film though.
the plan and the actors errs come from independence day. goldbloom much
To be honest, as bad as the transformers films are, I still get enjoyment out of them, review dark of the moon.
I remember seeing this and it's hilarious and awful.
16:51 EEEEEEEEEEERRRRRRRR
the rip off my favorite movie transformers
I think you mean Wales
Transmorphers was low key kidof fun
I remember seeing this at blockbusters
I remembered my rented Mega Shark vs Octopus from a local Blockbuster we used to have in February 2010.
Asylum film- cheap production values , iffy acting and a knockoff. Even the humans are robotic.
Jesus Christ, that annoying strobe lighting "lightning." Lightning doesn't work that way! I had to stop looking at the video for minute, ugh.
I don’t care what anyone says I love all the bay transformers films. Even extinction and last knight. And WAAAAYYYY over pumped for bumblebee.
thank God there's someone else. what did you think of bumblebee?
Um ok….😅
only the first one was decent, but the rest suck. Sorry, but you have bad taste.
@@OfficerFriendly2006 super late to this but it’s was pretty good! Not super special but one I enjoyed for what it was :>

so you genuinely like the Transformers movies?
I'm a Transformers fan and I don't like them(except the 1986 one)
5:55 did they even say it was in our galaxy?.
This style of review aged poorly lmao
And yet somehow people ask me to revert to this style regularly.
@@FilmBrain I think your older content has aged a lot better than a lot of the 'angry reviews' other people were making at the time.
It is actually pretty easy to call this a cardboard copy of transformers.
🆗
its called transmorphers not transformers
Evan Mcgee Correct titleling.
good work movie you tryed to help gay right with the kiss
shit i never hear some of this movie good thing to
because in the army there are no sexs, same with most companies

Jeez film brain is kind of sexist in this review. Thankfully he becomes less so but this was kind of hard to watch
James Mason Yeah, 2009 Me did and said a couple of things that I've cut from the revised versions. The earlier videos are very much of their time.
+Film Brain Yo film brain I could be wrong about this but I'm pretty sure the reason they keep calling that chick Sir is because in military and other armed services you call your superiors Sir no matter what sex they are. +Daigoro Bond Yeah that's pretty much true. My father and stepmother was in the navy
Thats pretty cool thanks for the confirmation.
Sigh...clearly it was INTENTIONAL 'sexism' based on not conforming to modern parlance...
