That coup/run needs hardware cloth over the fence and a few feet of it buried around the edges if you have any raccoons, cyotes, or opossum in the area. They dig under the fence or pull a chicken threw the fence! Every place you noted leaks will make the cheap wood they use rot out in about 2 years.
That’s one reason we painted it was to protect the wood. We do have land and air predators. We do have fencing/ hardware cloth. Over 1 foot in the ground.
It comes with board. I think they owe you one. The flashing is a great idea! I have had the same coop for 3 years and it leaks between slats, where metal meets the wood, through the doors and where the two metals come together. I ended up throwing a tarp over it. This year I tried sealing everything and we'll see. The worst is water freezing the door in the groove. The gaps in the run are to large and predators can get in. If I had to do it over I would've bought an EZ coop with a separate run.
They have a new gutter for it. That can be gotten for free from them. I have a second video for it. I sealed up all the metal to wood holes , it has helped a ton. I get little no to water in heavy storms now.
That roof line of the coop, higher than the run, is a serious design flaw. Had the run been the same or taller would have made it an easy deal.... Just lap the tarp on the coup roof. Should you ever decide to build a permanent roof over the run, then you could workout the roof over lap. Thanks for showing us around.
Awesome coop and such cute chickens. Thank you for such an informative review. I am thinking about purchasing this for my cats. Any thoughts or insight on that? And, for anyone interested in knowing why a cat is on the Pelletized bag, we use it for cat litter. Works great and super economical.
How do I add more chickens to my three chicken flock when my rooster is a full size chicken and he loves, and protects two bantam hens? I got three silkies and he thought they were aliens and kept attacking them and they never were accepted especially if they went anywhere near his little girls! Then one by one predators got in and killed two of the three silkies and I had to give the other one away because they just would not let her become part of their flock! I'm also concerned about the rooster mating with these little bantams! (which is why I got the silkies so he would have some girls his size to mate with) but it obviously was NOT going to happen! What should I do?
I have seen where people have had to use a separation fence inside the run to let them get use to each other daily Can take time. But the more they see each other the better it is.
How much did you PAY for this⁉️ Thankyou for your appraisal of this coop. There are quite a few things wrong with it. From the comments I see that the company is trying to improve on the design and are caring for their customers. - to a point. The water leakages and water exposure are deadly for chickens so I hope that all gets sorted out. Tarps are for the 'cats' and at $ 40. Too much. I don't think I'd be buying it as it is.
It has good and bad , they have come out with a redesigned part for a rain gutter that does help a lot ! I have a second video pinned in the description for it.

The next one. I think I will try and build from scratch.

Agreed. Bad design. But they have been in contact with me over my review and hope something good comes out of it.

Should be fine for cats. You could make each corner a climbing area
Other reviewers have a floor in the storage area. I’d call about it so they can send it to you.
Will ask the rep about it.
Since they already sent me the updated gutter after my review on it. , I will let you know what they say
Please go see the new video that airs on 6/3/23 @ 10 am for an updated part for this coop
Great review! Thank you for all the upgrade tips!!!
I hope it helps everyone

Where did you get the seal for the doors?
Lowe’s
6-3/4-ft x 1-in Brown Rubber Door Weatherstrip www.lowes.com/pd/M-D-6-3-4-ft-x-1-in-Brown-Rubber-Door-Weatherstrip/1000765782
Trimmed the thick edge off with a box cutter. On the edge that attached to the door.
Thank you.
I'm going to paint my coop like yours I really like it.

Looks like a poor design.
