      Always love your videos - I've reached a point where I'm happy with my photography so I'm now looking to expand my knowledge of film-making, got any TH-cam channels you would recommend?

      I really can’t stand this style of photography TH-cam with the soft voice. It sounds like they’re selling herbal tea

    Great photos! I feel like the strong and slightly odd colors fit that location well. Made it look painterly. Also I feel like I’ve not seen many photos with colors quite like that, so they felt unique, I like them a lot!

    What an amazing video, Teo! Thanks so much for sharing with us. I love your style of videos and this one was inspiring-like the many others I’ve appreciated seeing. Your photography is fantastic and I also loved and was inspired by how you handled the unplanned parts of this outing…the closed tunnel, your shoe coming apart, all the extra walking back to the car, shooting a “new to you” film for the first time. So many challenging variables and you met them in a way that did not stop you and you persevered and made this wonderful video. I’m inspired and encouraged by you. Thank you for sharing your work with us!

    Thanky you so much, what an excellent video, both in respect to photography and landscape. Perfect video production ! Like some others commented: I do like the velvia 100 colors in context of this kind of landscape . Your video made me wanting to buy a velvia 100 film.
    I like the punch with all the detail in the mountains, rocks a.s.o.

    I really loved the velvia colors. It was a perfect choice for the landscape bringing out those slight color variations so well. I have used the velvia filter on Fuji digital quite a lot and I think these were pretty similar to that

    Fun adventure!
    My first, and probably last, experience getting Velvia 50 developed was similar. The guy at my local shop (Minnesota) spent 5 minutes locating the develop process and price in a giant dusty binder. The development increased the total cost 4x.
    Velvia really does shine best on a deeply cloudy day. Highlights have that sharp roll-off that looks like cheap/old digital, so open sun can be punishing.
    I enjoy your channel. You have a new sub.

Great Video! I love how the videos of you are just amazingly well done, I can see the amount of time put into this.

    If you have a chance, project those slides. Or look at them through 50mm lens - it should be quite mind-blowing. Just for digital post workflow yeah, slides are kind of unique, expensive and an indulgence. But for projection - it's simply amazing! Imagine 2m wide, high quality picture with life-like colors and no pixels on screen!
    Slides love to be exposed for highlights, rather than shadows, therefore try that the next time around, if it happens.

    I’ve got velvia and Provia 100 in my fridge too. But I’m afraid to shoot it, because it’s so expensive …

    I like your back bag. Which brand is this?

    • @teocrawford
      @teocrawford  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It's a bag from Lowepro, which I bought back then because I knew Lowepro as a pretty good brand for this kind of stuff - it's quite bulky and big, hence I only use it for hikes like these, otherwise I prefer a smaller bag. But for days like these it's great!

    Do you store your film in a fridge or freezer?

    • @teocrawford
      @teocrawford  ปีที่แล้ว

      Nope, just in a box in my room haha :D
      Ideally I would like to keep them in a fridge, but I don't want to use up the space in my normal fridge and instead want to buy a small fridge for my office to keep film in there one day. Keeping your film in room temperature is fine actually as long as the temperature in your room doesn't fluctuate A LOT, like going from 14 to 34 degrees Celsius regularly. However I have quite a big collection of film, some of which I might not shoot for another few years in which case I think it can be beneficial to keep it in a fridge, especially if you're keeping film that is close to expiring. However I'm not scientifically informed, this is just based off of my experience from the last three years.

    I recently shot a role of Velvia 100 on a mountain and it was not amazing. There is such narrow exposure latitude and it's so expensive (in europe, at least) and everything seemed to come out under-exposed.

    The videography was just as good as the stills
    Also, what lenses do you have for the k1000? Do you have a video that shows? Keep up the great work!

    • @teocrawford
      @teocrawford  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Angie, thank you, so happy to read that! :))
      I shot all but one photograph in this video with a Cosina 35mm f/2.8 lens. When I want a bit more reach or compression I use my Pentax 50mm f/1.8 lens. Ideally I'd also have the Pentax 35mm lens, but back when I bought the Cosina, the Cosina was so much cheaper.. I think I bought it for 20 bucks haha so that's why I'm shooting with Cosina :)

  • @n0tchmc

    you should try out velvia 50 - i found it had a slightly different feel to velvia 100 that i preferred more (though its especially cause velvia 100 might be more like a 125 speed film since many of my photos came a tad bit overexposed and others have said similar)

  • @javixo1997
    @javixo1997 ปีที่แล้ว

    The colors do look a bit... Weird. I can't really say anything for sure, but based on what I've seen, something might not be totally right. I've only shot one roll of Ektachrome and the result was awful, caused by bad development. Slide film is apparently even more sensitive to any mistake during development than C41 film. Maybe something happened during development?

    • @pedronunes6401
      @pedronunes6401 ปีที่แล้ว

      To me it appears more of a scanning problem, velvia is not supposed to look like that at all. Maybe he overexposed the shots a bit and the scanner tried to compensate? That would explain the tinted highlights

    Maybe Velvia isn't your thing, but the Superia X-Tra definitely is. 🫶
    I don't know why, but I think the X-Tra's colors match your photography better. More than any Kodak too
