This is absolutely amazing. Everything about this song takes me to a en energetic, motivated, driven and youthful headspace. I'm still young, but now dealing with chronic pain and mobility problems, I feel a lot older than I am. I miss walking on foot for hours without feeling tired, stopping at the pub, eating and drinking, continuing on my way with no specific destination in sight. Get high, continue on and see where the day takes me. My best adventures have come from days like this, with The Clash blaring in my ears to keep me going.
Hey man, i skate and am energetic person, last winter i got diagnosed with 2 herniated discs. At first i couldn't even walk. I was broken. Then i started exercising and got better diet. I lost 25 kg and i skate hard as before. Still the pain is there but much less, and i can do the same stuff as before. I felt old as hell, but now i feel young and strong. Just keep on pushing!
I love your story man. Wish it was a little different in ur favor but isn't it Amazing that people you'll never meet recorded some sounds years ago and it energizes you in a way far beyond just "liking the song". A good song written with a lot of love n genius can propel us to higher boundaries than what our minds n bodies would ordinarily do.
4 words in this incredible song say it all. WHAT HAVE I DONE? Police On My Back was originally released by The Equals in 1968. It was a relevant song then. The Clash released their fantastic version in 1980. It was still relevant. Now it's 2022 and if a band released a version of this song today, guess what? It would be more f*cking relevant than ever. The cops whine and complain that they get no respect. When they treat people like citizens with rights and dignity instead of victims with targets on their backs only then will they get some respect. Respect is earned not casually given out. We need a 2022 version of The Clash to inspire the youth of today. Long Live Social Justice!! VENCEREMOS!!
No we don't. This album could have been recorded yesterday. The Clash are timeless, ageless and their music spans the generations as immortal artists do. Because The Clash are STILL the only band that matters.
I was a junior in HS when this song was being played on WBCN in Boston. It took a while, but I was at the ready with the tape recorder with the pause and record buttons depressed and a fresh Memorex cassette. My favorite song then....finally captured for endless repeat. I believe it was a level of anticipation, patience and joy that young people today can't comprehend and wouldn't understand.

You got that fucking RIGHT !!!!!!
Maybe so, but any band that even entered the genre, including the clash owe it to the ones that started it all. That band is the Ramones.
