i dont mean to be so off topic but does anybody know a tool to get back into an instagram account?? I was stupid forgot the password. I would appreciate any tips you can offer me!
Best in the Lauterbrunnen area is the Schnyige Platte to First via Faulhorn hike ending in Grindelwald. Another is the Eiger trail. Definitely Corsica for hiking, and there's other hiking than GR20, but that's the most challenging.
Tour du Mont Blanc=stunning. Every inch of it an amazing journey. It’s basically the John Muir Trail of Europe, but with lovely accommodations and food never more than an hour or two apart. As good as it gets.
@@MrMattytube hi, I also plan to go on TMB journey in 10 June - 16 June. Is snow makes the trail too difficult to a person who never see snow? I am from Taiwan, very worried about it. 😅
@leoyou4790 Nearly all the refuges will be closed so you will have to carry food which you can buy from shops which you will find spaced 2-3 days walk apart. The snow will be scary for you on thin tracks with steep drops. But if you wear appropriate footwear, carefully plant your feet, use poles, keep focused and don't panic you will be fine and have a once in a lifetime amazing experience :)
the trail is not always clear so you should use a GPS app. also when in snowy mountain trails, each step should be stomped down multiple times so you create a good hole that your foot cant slip out of. I would advise waiting until july if you can
,,Via Transilvanica" - Romania .... awesome hiking, backpacking, bikepacking trek along Romanian mountains and submountains from north Carpathian mountains to Danube river ....
this was always going to be a difficult top 10 - there are simply too many European countries with beautiful scenery. The hikes chosen are all great, but there are of course many more missing!
I would definitely add Der Malerweg east of Dresden in Germany. Appx 120 km long, its full of deep canyons, deep forest and ridges...moderate to challenging and stunning.
Of these I have only done the TMB, but have done four others in Europe not listed. I liked the AV-1 (about a week) in Italy, up the Zugspitz (2 days) in Germany/Austria, & one you never hear about around the Konigsee and over to the Eagle's Nest (3 days) in Berchtesgaden Germany. One I would not recommend unless you are in excellent shape and are up for walking up 45 degree loose scree and/or scrambling over or up some serious boulders is the Haute Route from Chamonix to Zermatt.
I agree about the West Highland Way, Tour du Mont Blanc, but I must say you completely missed it regarding the Isle of Skye! The Skye trail is about 80 miles and takes a week to complete with high point being the famous "Trotternish ridge" with 1750m of cumulative ascents and the best views all around over the isle
Skye is beautiful all over. If you're going to the Fairy Pools, during tourist season it is as busy as Sauchiehall Street in Glasgow. There's lots of little pools doted in between the hills on Skye. One I'll recommend is a set of pools near Sligachan. Sligachan is a tiny settlement that has a pub with 100s of whiskys plus a camping site and bunkhouse.
Come on, the Fairy Pools are nice but they have no place on this list. Its like including a Honda Civic in a list of Top Sportscars. I mean, it is not even the best hike on Skye, that would be the hike up to the Old Man of Storr.
@@Artur-hg1qg I understand. I've passed by the Fairy Pools on the way into Glen Brittle a few times, that area can be bedlam despite signs stating there is no roadside parking allowed.
Haha being from the Isle of Skye, it's totally stupid to call the fairy pools a "hike". There is however the Skye trail which could definitely be on the list.
The best hike in Europe is England Coast to Coast. St. Bee's Head to Robin Hood's Bay. You can include an extra day for Hadrian's Wall. I also think that the Haute Route is top notch. And the Dolomites in Italy are wonderful, better weather, friendlier people, and good food. You could also include the Cotswalds.
I am planning on to walk another section of the C2C this year, starting in St Bee's. I did a section from Richmond onwards going east in 2016. It is a beautiful walk!
@@diedertspijkerboer Enjoy. We did it in a bit more than 2 weeks. The best part is the Lake District. We also met a guy on Hadrian's Wall who was doing a run of the whole distance in one day.
@@Sargent.Pierce I know, I've been to the Lakes before. I think it's the most naturally beautiful part of England. I also expect it to be the most strenuous part. I am going to do it slowly and with plenty of stops. I learned from last time that I want a rest at least every fourth day. Do you have any suggestions for the bit I'm planning to do, St Bee's to (hopefully) Kirby Stephen and by going camping?
@@diedertspijkerboer It's been so long since I did the hike that I don't think that any of my advice will help much. I can say that when we were hiking, we started with several people doing the same stretch of trail, but after about three days, they all vanished. our group had van support, meaning that we started at one place and ended at another place and the van came back to the same spot the next day to start again. We never camped, and always had accommodations with good facilities. I can say that we got rained on several times and one day in the lake district I was the sweep of our group and one lady was hiking so slowly that I got very cold and needed a hot bath when I got to my b&b. I was not walking at a good pace and got cold from inactivity. I think it probably adds a lot of hiking if you need to walk to your hotel or B&B. If you're camping, then it might be easier because you'll be close to the trail. I think rain was the biggest problem on the trip in terms of morale. It's hard to be positive about a hike if it's all day in the rain.
@@Sargent.Pierce Hi Taylor, thank you very much for sharing your experiences. I can definitely take away some lessons from them. I remember how hard it was to stay motivated during the rain and actually cut my walk short. I also left the trail and went on the main road one very wet day when one leg sank into a bog and my boot got wet both inside and out. When it started raining again the next day, I decided I had had enough. I will definitely plan extra for demotivation and have rest days where possible when the weather forecast is too bad. When I did the other section, I planned the length of my walks in such a way that they included having to leave the trail to reach any camp sites. There actually aren't that many en route and one was quite far away from the trail itself. I got out of the habit of walking last summer because of the very long heat wave we had. From what I saw here on TH-cam, it was even dry in the Lake District! However, I went for a good walk yesterday for the first time in several months and the walking bug bit me quite hard again!
100mile long hike in Scottland will just take 1 week??? Here in Norway, such a hike takes probably 2 weeks or more, if you are carrying a tent and all kinds of camping gear... Of course some "people"/superhumans are able to pull it off in less time...
it's a mostly level hike. half of it is following the shoreline of loch lomond, then long sections along other valley floors. took me 4 days and am not an experience hiker at all (though only took 4 days because i wanted to hike overnight on day 2)
If you ever considering going hiking in Northern Sweden, don't. Watch The Ritual on Netflix and reconsider your choices. Southern Sweden is better, no?
Ridiculous list of 'hikes'. Also, the picture at the voice over for Santiago de Compostela - that's Finnistere not Santiago! I wonder if the person who made up this list has been to any of these places? Are all the images as accurate I wonder? Oh and no1 is mountaineering not hiking by the way!
You could easily have added Kungsleden in Sweden, 400 km of some of the most beautiful nature in Scandinavia
🤲🏾

Definitely further apart than that, I did it in June so no refuges but even with them you will walk more than 1-2 hours between them
@@MrMattytube hi, I also plan to go on TMB journey in 10 June - 16 June. Is snow makes the trail too difficult to a person who never see snow? I am from Taiwan, very worried about it. 😅

Nice variety and pics from Alpine to Coast lines! Love the outdoors!
Thanks for the nice info. ^^
I've done about half of these including the Tour du Mont Blanc, and I have to say you missed out on the Italian Dolomites!
I've done three of them and yes I have to agree on the Dolomites. I was there in september and the whole area is amazing and very much unique

The GR11 in Spain and Jotunheimen in Norway are nice too!!!!
I've been to the isle of Skye, beautiful but cold! Lol. Very nice video.
A European Hiking Trail Video without Austrian Hikes? Wow 😅
totally agree. This video is not worth the title! ...says the Austrian :-)
J Cool why don’t you add some ? I’m always fascinated by 🇦🇹 Austria

Pico do Ruivo Ridgeline hike is epic

Does the last one go through zermatt? By the matterhorn.
No, the Matterhorn is farther east. You might be thinking of the Haute Route, Mt. Blanc to the Matterhorn.
No, the Tour du Mont Blanc is leading around the Mont Blanc, in the Mont-Blanc area. Zermatt is a bit more to the east, in the Walliser Alps.
I’ve been to the fairy pools and they are gorgeous but make sure to go in August because it’s too cold to go swimming the rest of the year
July?

Easy walk Mare a mare sud Corsica more difficult GR52 offshoot of GR5. Where are the Alta Via's?
Two walks in Scotland and no GR10, Gr11, or Pyrenees HIgh Level Route? Dolomites are also awesome, Drei Zinnen, Tofane, Brenta.Civetta, Pelmo..
What is wrong with Scotland pal?
Why pick out Scotland?
