    Would love another video describing the improvement in vehicle performance.

    Thanks for this. My stabilizer from you guys is on the way. Will be installing the lift springs, this stabilizer and 255/85-17s.

    I've used steering stabilizers before and they are to prevent twitchy steering by dampening/slowing down the motions. The Grenadier does not have twitchy steering - just very slow, vague steering that needs corrections as you drive. From what I have seen this is due to the alignment/caster not being correctly set. The first thing to do would be to take it to a good alignment shop and have them make sure everything is set up correctly. Then see how it steers before changing anything else.

      John did a seperate video on caster adjustment. I wrote John/OWL hoping to hear which path to improvement - Caster adj or Fax damper yielded a greater benefit and got a bit of a non-answer from OWL customer service. Do you have an opinion?

      @@br10019 Take your Grenadier to a proper alignment shop - not a general tyre service place - take a drive with their tech so they can see what the issue is. Then have them adjust the camber/alignment etc to make sure it is optimal. Only once everything is correctly set up do then look for bolt on solutions. I do not see how a steering damper - a device designed to tame twitchy steering by dampening and slowing down motions - can help vague, slow steering.

      @@husshardan3511 Your statements are not entirely accurate in regards to the Grenadier. Ineos opted to spec an insanely over dampened steering stabilizer on the Grenadier. This causes what I would suggest is 90% of the steering issues on the Grenadier. If you fully remove the factory stabilizer the steering feels effectively the same as any other vehicle in its class minus being a tad sloppy in comparison. However it does feel a touch loose too. But the steering wheel self centers just like anything else. Adding the Fox adjustable unit allows you to tune it to your liking. As well, with the stabilizer removed completely you get very close to experiencing death wobble in stock configuration. However once you change your wheels and tires and even lift the Grenadier you will find that you absolutely need a stabilizer to prevent death wobble and to give the truck a smoother feel through the steering wheel.
      And before you respond understand that this is first hand experience. As well I have much much larger off-road vehicles and more than 30yrs experience off-roaring as well as designing, fabricating and selling off-road components across the globe.

      @@Dokatd so you are saying Inneos completely ruined the steering by selecting the wrong steering damper? It is interesting that you are the first to mention the stock damper/stabilizer. Others just mention adding a stabilizer as if it doesn't already have one.

      @@husshardan3511 That is correct. And I promise you that Ineos is loosing tons of sales because of it. I almost returned my truck it was so aggravating. That said, I’m not the first to bring this up, there were people early on that figured this out but where shut down by ignorant people using the argument that the engineers at Magna knew better than them. This was to the point that people complained to FaceBook to have posts removed that suggested people remove the stabilizer.
      And finally, the guys at Owl and several other outfits knew what the problem was if only subconsciously, but they couldn’t say it out loud for fear of losing business if they were critical of Magna/Ineos design.

    Hello. Does the factory warranty get voided if I replace the steering stabilizer? I have this part, but I'm hesitant to replace it because of the factory warranty

    • @owloffroad
      @owloffroad  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It is illegal to void a warranty in its entirety for an aftermarket part. Therefore INEOS could only void the warranty for steering related items.

      I think it prevents the car from wandering left and right when driving straight in the highway. Fixing problem the grenadier has, that makes the driver keep adjusting the steering wheel constantly (like a car from the 50s). Owl keeps impressing 🔥
