  • Sabbath School Q3 2022: In the Crucible with Christ - Week 5
    The lesson this week points out that the life of Hosea has some powerful lessons to teach us. In this study, we take a look at the life of Hosea, his wife Gomer, their legitimate son Jezreel, and Gomer's illigetimate daughter "Lo-Ruhamah," and her illigetimate son "Lo-Ammi," and how this family relates to the SDA church today.
    We show in scripture that Gomer's illegitimate children represent Israel and Judah respectively.
    But how could Israel and Judah be represented as illegitimate children? Didn’t God establish these kingdoms? Hosea’s answer is, "No!" You can’t have a kingdom without a king and Hosea proclaimed the shocking truth that God was not behind their act of setting up kings over themselves. Hosea 8:4a reads, "They set up kings, but not by Me;
    They made princes, but I did not acknowledge them." Hosea 8:4a
    Ellen White had some enlightening things to say along this line that will help us understand the reason for the crises we find ourselves in today.
