Edit: I found out that he was referring to the traditional ceremony at the end where they drink a glass of desi rum then break, chew and swallow a small part of the rim.
Edit 2: Although they do it after reducing it to a fine powder and yes it would hurt real bad if they eat like a sour thing afterwards coz of the small cuts.

Sir but 'the engineers' get army uniform and ground duty? Or only technical work after selection through ima , ota ? And are they also called bombay sappers?
Engineers get exposure in fields and many engineer regiments are posted in the field areas. Combat Engineers have seen combat many times in the past. The corps of engineers have a very versatile role to play. They are always with the infantry and both work hand in hand.
Coming to bombay sappers, an engineer soldier is referred to as a sapper and not a sepoy. Engineers are broadly divided into 3 groups, The Bomaby sappers, The bengal sappers and the madras sappers.

They get the uniform. Eg: EME, CME, Bombay Sappers, etc. Being in engineers is not different.

One thing I couldn't get was, the fitness reason is acceptable but he said his attitude of not doing anything without logic behind it was confusing. Why would Special Forces do something without a very good reason? Why did his friend said that this personality of his wouldn't work with 1 Para.
What is the reason behind glass biting? It's just one of the things that they do while getting trained.
@@protograde2723 its actually the last thing they do as a part of the loong running tradition and not as something logical. I heard Major Vivek Jacob say that it's not followed by every SF batallion and not everybody does it.

NDA is been given more priority because NDA people have taken 4 years military training therefore they r suitable for takling any tough condition and therefore they r getting more priority

Anyone from any corps can volunteer for para (airtrooper) and para (SF)
You can opt but I don't think it's very likely to get selected. Because then you would be going from a technical arm to infantry. Even army doctors used be sf guys but now it has been stopped. They can only operate with them as para doctors but are not operators. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
