    Dear Beloved Community,
Please join us and help us. We, the Richmond Coalition for
Quality Education, speak because we must speak.
And we must speak because an inalienable right has been
violated. And this inalienable right is being violated because we
the beloved community keep allowing the violation. And we have
allowed it because we have been misled-over, and
over, and over again. But every child has an right to life,
liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.
And the price of violating the rights of the vulnerable is high and we will all pay. Children and youth, parents and neighbors, teachers and school workers, employers and workers, institutions and organizations, affluent and oppressed, affluent and influent-all of us in the beloved community pay a high price when opaque processes, practices, and purposes replace democratic transparency and the rights of the many are ignored to serve the unjustified means of the few.
So spread the word and join us. We Are the Richmond
Coalition for Quality Education, and as community members we
are troubled by the damage created by the School Board's
rezoning effort, the board's vote for school closures, and the
flawed process that led to it.
We Believe that all Richmond children deserve a strong
education, regardless of their race, ethnicity, income or zip
code. Citizens have a right to have their questions about
decisions that affect their families and communities answer by
    elected officials.
We Demand transparency & public involvement in decisions!
We Want Answers. What is the cost savings associated with
closing Clark Springs Elementary School and the rest of the
rezoning plan, and how were those figures calculated? And what
will become of the Clark Springs building? Has any developer
or institution expressed interest in purchasing the building?
We want justice. (individual choice) justice as equal opportunity and procedural fairness; (virtue) justice as community obligation; (care) justice as close attentiveness to others; (identity) justice as affirmation of difference and social transformation.
Please join us. Spread the word and make a difference.
