Fellow Indians! Here's is my story, got admission into both engineering and medicine in 2009. But for some weird reason, I thought I am not going to enjoy direct patient care. Was curious to learn biology and enjoyed it more than Mathematics. And chose to become a Mechanical Engineer. After working 5 years in construction management as a mechanical engineer, moved to the US for a master's in mechanical engineering, COVID-19 gave me ample time to re-evaluate what I want to do in life. Decided to test the waters, enrolled in medical terminology class in a local community college! I will be graduating with a Master's in clinical data science in 2024. So here is the takeaway! Pursue whatever as long as you enjoy the process of learning.

I am 26, and I am going through an identity crisis. I finished my M.Sc. in Physics at 23, and after that, it's been 3 years, and I didn't know what to do next. Earlier I thought that the natural thing to do next would be a Ph.D. But then I realized I didn't want to do a Ph.D. During the lockdown, when everything stopped, I became totally careless and didn't make any decisions about the future. Now, at 26, the realization that 30 is coming makes me paranoid. At 24, you feel like there is a lot of time, but everything changes two years later. People asking me about my studies just two years ago are now asking me about marriage.
Watching this video is giving me hope. I really respect this lady's courage to start something afresh at 29. That is also a degree from scratch. I am feeling hopeful that it is never too late.

I am going through the exact same thing. Switched my field from Mechanical Engineering just because I wasnt interested in it anymore, left 2 job offers of 12LPA, just to work on something I believed in. Invented a Medical Device for the most complicated bone joint in human body and won a Presidential Award for it. Currently learning Software Development and leaving everything behind that I have ever learned in my life. All this, at the age of 28. Loving every moment of the transition and never been more satisfied career-wise. From high pressure and extensive hardwork for GATE 2018 to initiating a tech startup and learning latest software tech, I can closely related and feel the happiness and excitement she is talking with and the fear, anxiety, uncertainty and plathora of questions she had went through in the transition. In upcoming years, I am gonna be the next big thing.
PS: when I decided to not to accept the job offer and keep working on my device, I had absolutely no financial backing, I refused to take a single penny from my family, "managed" my finances somehow. Dealt with High stress, anxiety and lots of sleepless night filled with utter insecurity, doubts and whatnot. 10 months like this, THEN the good things started to happen.
ONLY Trust yourself and the process.
    Everything else is mere speculation.

Hating on other people or women will never fix your own problems. Hope you get that.

@Akash Mishra, MGTOW There IS something as context, yeah? First of all her response was obviously related to the fact that she is 29, and there is a huge pressure on women to be married early, that's why this question was even asked. Secondly, her comment is clearly a light-hearted one and thirdly she isn't saying this to a "man proposing" her, but as a passing comment in an interview, that specifically asked her about marriage in a video, about her academic achievements.
But there's no point in explaining all this to MGTOW, red pill-er types. If you would spend half the time that you spend in putting others down into building your own self up, I wouldn't have had to write this big-ass essay here. And don't @ me no more. It takes half of the life time to be established as a talented doctor just a course doesn't make one..it take lifetime practices. Just the initials 'Dr.' is added but they are not allowed to operate.. there's a lot more hustle than just enrolling in a course...it might seem easy..it can be just an academic interest of her and later on she might repent over her choices..even after post graduation in medicine and/or surgery the path is too long. A doctor studies until his death it isn't a job or profession for him to earn..they don't have placements not the same routine of doing a particular task as engineers have.. I personally believe let a child first think and rethink once again in their late teens to pursue what one actually wants to .one needs to be sure for their career these are the years which make your future..not everyone has the wealth and money. Medical professionals have to apply what they read on living organisms not on machines..they have to think, rethink, analyse, recall then they consult one mistake can be hazardous. Also to be mentioned as you grow your brain cells degenerate you might be not as good learner as you were.there are responsibilities on some people which they do and they're as successful as any other person could be.. whoever is surviving, earning, providing to their family in this harsh, cruel, kalyugi world is successful

@@aasthasingh8996 Are you kidding me? Girl, that man would literally get cancelled all over the internet. Firstly, I'm assuming you have no knowledge regarding recent events happening against man- hating or have no general knowledge to read news. Secondly, an individual's academic achievements do not give him/ her permission to have what according to you is 'fun'. There are men who are getting AIR 1 in JEE, and then getting AIR 1 in UPSE CSE after an age gap similar to hers. There are Men who are qualifying both medical and engineering entrances with stellar ranks and with achievements that far outshine hers. They aren't receiving this special treatment though, are they? Do they bring marriage in between their achievements? No. And lastly, I already was a fan of her short tricks to formulas that she constantly posts on her youtube channel. I am a long time subscriber. She's definitely an inspiration. But I'm not a blind follower. I respect and admire her decision, but she's no way the sole individual who's done this. I don't want this reply section to be a war zone. If you don't agree with my opinion, leave it or post your own. But learn to accept realities insteading of blind worship. Internet is a place where all opinions should be respected.

If someone finds his/her true passion , we should be happy for him/her.
But instead we care more about her age, getting married and that she's already 29
As if women world is only about getting married and have kids.

Amazing girl. Kudos to her dedication and willpower to learn and not settle for less. But truth be told, it's only possible when you have FINANCIAL BACKING for a long term. I have seen bunch of smart people giving up on their dreams just because they had to earn as soon as possible (Right after graduation. Or even right after 10th or 12th). This is the harsh reality.

Kudos to her for achieving this at this age! It's her dream to become a doctor, MBBS at least. But those who are pursuing this after spending years in some other course, if you are looking for settiling financially with MBBS or higher studies...it's not a good option. By the time you pass MBBS it take 6 years, so it's not logical to say the least. And take PG add 4 years including preparation. After MBBS you won't get as highly paid as you would expect packages after enginnering. The pay is measly 50k per month. Workload will break most people as duties range from 24 continue ( yes continue ) to 48 hours...so forget sleep and this is 365 days a year. No weekends or holidays. Moreover, govt will only allow you to pursue one course at a time so previous achievement are null and void. I have done MBBS and currently preparing for PG, it's a cutthroat competition. MBBS is nothing these days, you have to do PG at the least. My friend got placed while I was in 3rd year MBBS. He is settled while I am still appearing for exams. You earn more in engineering anyday. It's only worth it if it's dream and your parents support you in the process. It's just my viewpoint from my field and yours many differ. Again congrats to her for great achievement and admiration for her determination 👏

Actually in Canada this is pretty normal... In Canada there is no arts, commerce, science stream... So I have seen many students who had studied only art subjects or after going to business collage and then all of sudden want to become doctor or go into some completely different profession . ..
Great part is u don't have to be in a particular stream just give the entrance exams and it's it and then study that subject etc ..
