Amazing opportunity for you Mr. Mustie. I once joked you should design and build a submarine. This is the perfect ongoing project to generate years of interesting content for your channel as well as attract a wider audience. Many TH-camrs have used salvage Lamborghinis to grow million subscriber channels. The beauty of this beast is that nearly everything important was free and the rest can be fabricated cheaply - your specialty. No need to pay premium prices for Lamborghini parts. This is a kit car and everyone expects it to be cobbled up from scraps. Watch how much additional interest this project attracts to your channel. If you flip this project you are throwing away a huge opportunity.
Ohhhhhh, boy - this can only go one of three ways - either you become a rich, rich, rich man because of people watching you trying to *make* a Diablo (given the state of this kit car), you mortgage your great, great grandkids future (and your current house and property) attempting to make it, Or your great, great grandkids inherit a mysterious, four-wheeled vehicle shell that appears to have traveled upon the ground.
Awesome toy, welds at the rear look final and Ok, from what was showed. Defo no cooling system, no controls connected either (gears, ignition ECU and such) sounds like the body isn't bolted on much. Hmm a fair amount to do but what fun when completed. I guess audit the bits on the pallets see how far from complete it is. Yes do want to see it built :)
looks like he was building it fairly well. It looks like it would be worth finishing. the videos alone would more then pay for the build. should make a nice profit finishing the project with video views.
It's one thing to get a vehicle running that has been running in the past, and a completely different thing to complete something that has never been assembled. If the original instructions were comprehensive, and available, it might be possible to build it. Kit cars are usually built with parts from older vehicles at the time of the original design. Those vehicles might not be available many years later. The 2020 Corvette is only $60,000.
This is something Ive had experience of , it sounds great , a free Lambo Diablo and its a great talking point down the pub , but don't let it consume you Mustie , its already seen one owner out , to do the job properly there's not enough hours in the day, you will spend hours manufacturing a part then you will be awake all night thinking how you could have made it better , next morning you will be out there discarding the part you spent all day yesterday making only to start the process over again , At the end of the day if it ever gets finished in your lifetime it will still be copy Diablo with many parts your not happy with , with this project you need total dedication and maybe better to spend that time on your excellent youtube channel , just my thoughts , but its a great car much respect to the work of the previous owner he certainly made a nice job of things .
mad respect...most generous of the donor. If you can make it drive [inexpensivly ] it would be a great tribute and video! Watching you work, and figure things out is therapeutic. Thanks
Wow, this channel is getting fancy dancy now! A Lambo! lol, actually, that is a nice kit, and the major parts are all bought, yes it would take some time, but would like to see you complete his dream of getting that thing on the road..painted a nice yellow. Think of his smile from above. And may he R.I.P., also applaud the family for trying to turn it over to someone to complete the dream, and get those smiles from above.
Yes. Please go all out on this. This content could take your channel to the next level. I love kitcars even though there's only a few I would actually own because of the stigma, but this is nice with the V12.
hey fiero kits aren't bad if you're willing to swap in a vr6 along the way. but this is something else. a vr6 can sound exotic with a good exhaust setup, but a v12 is exotic period.
Right place at the right time. I do really well at yard sales moving sales and estate sales. Last week my wonderful wife noticed an item she knew I was looking for a pointed it out to me. A perfect air snatch tank like new condition made in USA so it is probably 30 plus years old for 10 bucks. I know she would rather I buy good used tools then pay full price for used. We enjoy the time spent together and its good exersize. We never take more than 100 bucks and have never even come close to spending that much but have procured items that if bought new it would add up to thousands of dollars. And thats not including the free scrap stuff we have been given. Im not up to the lamborgini level yet but Im still having a blast.

That´s one mega project well be waiting for the upcoming videos of the Lambo!
Looks like you will have to strip it down just to see what you got and get an idea on his thought process in building and putting this together.
I am have no doubt that you will be able to finish this car and have something fun to drive. There is quality in the work so far....
looks like he was building it fairly well. It looks like it would be worth finishing. the videos alone would more then pay for the build. should make a nice profit finishing the project with video views.
ya I was thinking the same but suggested him to partner with some companys like he is going to need a mile of Dynamat
Tired old mechanic.... that. Was fuckin funny. So true.
Lamborghini started with building tractors so this I perfect.
Yes, Mr. Lambo was PO'ed at Enzo so he decided to build his own car, crazy!
@@jackallen6261 Then he po'd Ford and we got the GT40
@@Rogue0770 but first was the Shelby cobra and I'm so looking forward to see that movie.
@@Rogue0770 Yep! Absolutely
@@jamewakk Just watched the trailer, it looks it's gonna be amazing
Thanks
Well... This is a whole new level of jealousy. I'll be sure to watch every second of this build/ rebuild.
It's gonna be a lot easier to wire it up with the body off. What a cool project
Swap that engine for a couple of Briggs and it`ll be sorted!
or stuff 2 v-dub fours in their and make it a AWD
Never been interested in any sports car, do not want to own drive or be in one, however I will be watching this project. Cheers
THE END FOOTAGE IS SO COOL!
He has picked up scent from the wind. Likely a FEMALE! Go Boy go!!!!
The stigma mostly comes from online sources and badly done cars. But if you build it right, everyone loves and underdog story.
*Did the gentleman keep notes and/or photos, or a log journal of progress?*
How cool! This is a tough project, because you can envision the finished product, but there's still SOO much to do. That is a really NEAT car.
Mustie selflessly lending his time to his community by scooping up and sorting out the free stuff! Keep up the good work!
I get free Tupperware from family, Mustie gets a Lamborghini ❗😃❗😃
And I get a hard time!
YEAH, BUT HOW MUCH IS INSURANCE ON THEE 'OLE TUPPER STUFF??
I get old margarine and butter containers for leftovers. Best set of salad bowls I own...lol
I got nothing so Tupperware would be nice :P
WOW, great score. It would make for a great series in-between projects
Diablo headlights were actually Nissan lights, no joke, they had a lip to cover the names
Great patience will be required to pull off this project. Good luck!
you got this mustie!!!! i have 100% faith in you and your talents . patience and time will make her mint!!!
