@@K3iwk0 The issue with timestamping this one is that 1. there are 33 tempo changes and 2. some are in very quick succession so saying what second they start at would be inaccurate 😅 I can give it a go if you want but I think the best option would be to either download the vocal file to see the tempo changes (you can open it in Synth V lite for free I'm pretty sure) or you could wait until I upload the vid of me working on this song so you can see all the tempo changes directly (hoping to have it out next week). Let me know if any of those options work you for :)

Something i noticed about these songs: Shuichi, Maki and Himiko, are the survivors of V3, correct? All their songs end with a verse related to the truth. "Let's destroy the truth instead." "And see the truth again." "Nyeh, the truth is calling now! I'll reach it for you!"

honestly, the survivors were honestly my favorite nearly the entire playthrough, however with me being heavily attached to the entire v3 cast It's easier to say who didn't make me sad when they died.
I love how this song is not only playful like Himiko but also shows how she’s kinda been depressed for quite a bit. It also shows her growth until the end of the game. It’s great
Finally. I believe Himiko is one of the most underappreciated and overhated characters in DR. And hopefully, if Miu knows where her place is for once, the little mage will get some of the respect she deserves.
It’s honestly kinda unfair people think a bit low of her due to her mannerisms not entirely matching up to how they feel her dialogue should be written as. Like dude just let the writers at least feel alright for doing something new, subverting expectations is the name of the game when it comes to playing this series in both minor and major ways.
2:35-2:45 This is the part that keeps replaying in my head because it's just SO good. I just love how it reflects Himiko's degrading mental state during the investigation. The way that she calls out to Angie first, but when she receives no response at all, quickly pivots to calling for Tenko. The building desperation, panic, fear--just for it all to come falling out through the bottom at once. I adore it so much, easily my favorite moment of the already amazing song.
I really feel like Himiko deserved so much more from the plot, but from what was GIVEN to her, this is perfect. Himiko always gets so overlooked, but there's such a rich aspect to her character. Her attachments to Angie and her panic at losing not only Angie but TENKO is palpable, and one of my favourite uses of a double murder! As for the song itself, Mcki you totally outdid yourself. The chord progressions in the chorus were totally designed to make me want to cry; there's ALWAYS something about that small adjustment to minor that really gets me in the feels. The lyrics and monotoneness of the tuning is so perfect for Himiko. But what REALLY blew me away was how you incorporated the summoning song into the music! I was shocked at how well it transitioned into Himiko's panic from thereon out. And on a less depressing note - the song sounds MAGICAL!!!! IT SOUNDS LIKE A SPELL! I love it. Insane work as always!

I loooove playing around with the chords to make it as dramatic as I can so I'm really glad you like them!! And honestly I was surprised by how well the summoning song fit as well LOL. I made the melody based off the original then intended to change the key to match the song but the original key fit so well! The song genuinely brought me to tears. I love how you captured all of Himiko’s desperation when Angie died, and then Tenko, and finally gave her a new energy to move on for them. Hhhhhh I love this so much :D
I like that at the end, Himiko genuinely sounds more energetic and closer to her dubbed voice than she’s been throughout the song. You can still hear a bit of sadness slipped in through one of the lines (3:31) but it still ends with genuine optimism. 3:00-3:06 for a moment, I thought the song was about to transition to her actual VA singing the song because of how accurate this sounded to her real voice Also love the choice to incorporate the Caged Child song, it was genuinely terrifying 😄👍🏼
I really love the “if it’s a lie, then why…” lines, both because of how it’s the part of the song where the singer sounds most like Himiko, (especially the last one) and how the meaning shifts between each one to express Himiko’s belief in a false existence, and how it drives her forwards. Himiko is one of my favorite V3 characters, and this song is fantastic for her. Well done!
Himiko's song was more emotionally impactful than I was expecting! I knew all these parts about her character, but this song framed it in a way that actually made her resonate with me for the first time. Amazing job!
I love Himiko! Over the years, my opinion of V3 hasn't stayed great, but it has its shining moments and I feel like you put a lot of love into showcasing one of them. The chorus is catchy and the story this song tells is really touching. Thank you for giving Himiko the love she deserves, and for making the iconic choice to use Una for her song!
It's funny how, for the entire time before this song came out, I misheard "and not in the typical mundane way" as "I'm not a magician though I one day may". I also misheard "until all my problems go away" as "until all I have in store/stored its" I really like how this song emphasizes himikos depression in the first half as I feel that's an overlooked part of her character. Also, Himiko missing Tenko only after she lost her is so sad

@@MckiRobynsP I just find it funny because I've never misheard a set of lyrics for THAT long lol, like I sung to myself "I'm not a magician though I one day may" whenever I had the song stuck in my head lol. I also really like how haunting the segment where Angie and tenko die is. The cuts of silence REALLY sell it, especially right after the "Poke me HUG ME" section, it's so sad Also the "all I hear are HI ya and amen" is so sweet! I also really like how himiko is still kind of struggling with depression at the end while she's making steps to improve: "If it's a lie how come their light lets me to live this lonely life?"
AAAAAAAHH I LOVE THIS SONG!!! IT PERFECTLY CAPTURES HIMIKO’S CHARACTER! I loved this part 2:33 because the way it progresses and Himiko sounds more panicked as it goes on, and then when the instrumentals stop when it shows Tenko’s death, it so good! And THE KEY CHANGESSSS I loved when they key changes because it adds more to the song, and at 2:49 with the key change and tempo change it makes it sound like Himiko is just completely in despair, and the key makes the song have a sadder tone, and then it progresses and the key change here 3:16 is amazing because Himiko wants to keep living and with the key change it makes it have a happier tone. The way the tempos, keys, and instrumentals were used is amazing and I love this! Even if I didn’t know anything about danganronpa or Himiko, and couldn’t understand the lyrics, I’d still be able to assume that those parts take on happier and sadder tones because of the way the keys change, and I love when music does that instead of leaving the key change for last and sometimes it doesn’t really add anything to the music, but the is amazing! And that’s not even mentioning the lyrics, it perfectly captures Himiko’s character with the mentions of Angie, Atua, Tenko, and of course magic, AND THE NYEHS! And just with the first few words “the sky is going gray, and not in its usual mundane way” aaaaaaah I love that lyric! And at 0:36 I love this parttt I can’t even explain why just aaaaa it’s perfect to Himiko! And at the first chorus it’s like Himiko is trying to stay positive in the killing game but you could still hear that she’s till sad in the certain parts ( 1:10 ), and then when she meets Angie and believes in Atua, and believes that they’ll get out of the killing game, only to see that Angie was killed, and she kind of doubts Angie but still misses her 2:12, and then the whole part after Tenko’s death AAAAH I love it, and the last chorus is AMAZINGGGGGG! TLDR: I love this song, the use of key changes, tempos, and the lyrics, is perfect to Himiko and it’s my favorite song (Also I kinda got a little carried away with this comment (I’ve been writing it since I finished watching the premiere so it’s being put 40 minutes after it premiered lol), but that’s just my autistic brain getting obsessed over a song about one of my favorite characters and franchises lol. I love this song so much and I’m definitely going to make piano sheet music and a cover of it. It’s probably gonna be one of my most listened to songs this year (other than not my turn to die (890ish plays) and lucky me (close to 500 plays)) but also, I’m just a random person with hardly any knowledge of music other than piano, so there was probably a lot more I missed and I might’ve used wrong terminology, but, yeah.. idk what else to write so I’ll just end the comment here lol. I like how straight forward the lyrics are compared to songs like Kokichis, Shuichis, and Nagitos. Kinda great representation in its lyrics cause instead of mainly focusing on them (himiko) as a person, it mainly focused on her world view changing to something wider. I also like how it explained how she was annoyed with Tenko *until* she died and realized how special she was and the fact she just died to help Himiko talk to Angie. Also the melody changing was kinda cool to me cause it represents the emotional Rollercoaster that Himiko went on during the whole game (minus chap 4-5 since it didn't really focus on it.) Something they kinda didn't add that I wished they did was himikos reaction to her only friend left as the mastermind, though I understand that'd be difficult to add since the song mainly focused on Himikos importance during chapter 3 and since that was a LOT, it would make the song needlessly long. Anyway my personal thoughts about the song itself, I like the melody and it's matches Himiko's childish-yet-lazy personality turning into a more confident one. To me personally, it's not their best, but DEFINITELY not their worst, since it perfectly shows Himikos personality. If you don't like it, that's okay too! It doesn't use the melody like Maki but I kinda think that on purpose to show how Maki had a very slow growth only to the person who helped her to be ripped from her suddenly. Himiko didn't care too much until the people that cared about her died and she realized the severity of the situation and realized the only people that cared about her are now dead because they wanted to help her.
Thank you so much for the feedback!!! Yeah, one of the things you have to be mindful of when summarizing a character in a song is which parts should get focus and which parts don't fit. It would've been hard to fit in chapter 6 stuff since the song already had Himiko overcoming her friends death, so going from "They're death broke me" to "I'm moving forwards from their death!" to "another death/situation broke me" to "I'm moving forwards from that as well!" just wasn't gonna work in the structure of the song since the first "moving forwards" was the final chorus. And I agree that this one isn't my best (I still like Lucky Me a lot more personally) but I'm glad it fit her character at least! :)

I really like how the final "hey" when himiko discovered tenko's body is the first time she sings in a higher octave, showing this is the first time she really started to care, and it's the event that causes her to become a better person

oh stars this has got to be one of my favorites of your songs,, i had never really paid much attention to himiko before, but this gave me a whole new appreciation! himiko’s emotions are conveyed really well and i always end up cheering for himiko every time i listen! she’s now easily one of my favorite characters and i would like to thank you for that and for how well you depicted her character development throughout the game

I was thinking it with the trailer, but honestly this might be the most accurate voice casting. She doesn't ALWAYS sound JUST like the voice actor... But also that is higher than my standard which is "Sounds somewhat like the character" and sometimes Una just literally sounds like Himiko. Just wow. And like, the emotional part gave me literal chills too, so well articulated and composed. This is so very good, thank you!

Yes! Finally a Himiko Song! We really needed songs from underappreciated and hated characters, figuratively speaking knowing everyone has an opinion about each character. I'm hoping for one day to have a Hiyoko and Sonia Song. I mean, I've seen some youtubers saying how Sonia is boring, whiny. So I believe she deserves more too + other characters. I'll be entirely honest, I wasn't sure if a Himiko song could reach the same heights the music for my favorite characters prior to this did. But, go figure, this ended up in contention for my favorite song you've made so far - stuff like the monotone tuning, emotional progression and the way you managed to tie in Ch. 3's summoning song really made this one hit for me. This song is amazing ! I also recognized something about Himiko : Chapter 1 : Despite feeling lazy , she went with Kaitos plan to end the killing game . Chapter 2 : If Himiko didn't announce her magic show , then Kirumi wouldn't have left so many clues . Chapter 3 : Shuichi and Maki only found Angies bloodstain because Himiko picked the middle room . Chapter 4 : Himiko was suspicious of Mius "plan" and we know how that turned out . Chapter 5 : If Himiko didn't bring the crossbow to Kaito , then Kaito wouldn't have confronted Kokichi , meaning Maki could have successfully killed Kokichi which then make her get excecuted and then Kaito would have died for nothing . Chapter 6 : She helped Shuichi at Rantaros Lab and willingly risked her life to find the mastermind and managed to find the secret passageway . This whole time , Himiko was beeing helpful and yet people see her as useless...

While not being my favorite fan song from you, it's definitly the best. I'm in LOVE with the rythm, the pauses, the story telling, this song is the best representation of her entire character. Hi! Are you going to timestamp the tempo changes, (like what you did with not my turn to die) or put them when you upload the process of making the song? (it makes it so much easier for me to make sheet music if I know the tempos!)
@@K3iwk0 The issue with timestamping this one is that 1. there are 33 tempo changes and 2. some are in very quick succession so saying what second they start at would be inaccurate 😅 I can give it a go if you want but I think the best option would be to either download the vocal file to see the tempo changes (you can open it in Synth V lite for free I'm pretty sure) or you could wait until I upload the vid of me working on this song so you can see all the tempo changes directly (hoping to have it out next week). Let me know if any of those options work you for :)

This is the part that keeps replaying in my head because it's just SO good. I just love how it reflects Himiko's degrading mental state during the investigation. The way that she calls out to Angie first, but when she receives no response at all, quickly pivots to calling for Tenko. The building desperation, panic, fear--just for it all to come falling out through the bottom at once. I adore it so much, easily my favorite moment of the already amazing song.

I really feel like Himiko deserved so much more from the plot, but from what was GIVEN to her, this is perfect. Himiko always gets so overlooked, but there's such a rich aspect to her character. Her attachments to Angie and her panic at losing not only Angie but TENKO is palpable, and one of my favourite uses of a double murder! As for the song itself, Mcki you totally outdid yourself. The chord progressions in the chorus were totally designed to make me want to cry; there's ALWAYS something about that small adjustment to minor that really gets me in the feels. The lyrics and monotoneness of the tuning is so perfect for Himiko. But what REALLY blew me away was how you incorporated the summoning song into the music! I was shocked at how well it transitioned into Himiko's panic from thereon out. And on a less depressing note - the song sounds MAGICAL!!!! IT SOUNDS LIKE A SPELL! I love it. Insane work as always!

The song genuinely brought me to tears. I love how you captured all of Himiko’s desperation when Angie died, and then Tenko, and finally gave her a new energy to move on for them. Hhhhhh I love this so much :D
I like that at the end, Himiko genuinely sounds more energetic and closer to her dubbed voice than she’s been throughout the song. You can still hear a bit of sadness slipped in through one of the lines (3:31) but it still ends with genuine optimism.
3:00-3:06 for a moment, I thought the song was about to transition to her actual VA singing the song because of how accurate this sounded to her real voice

I really love the “if it’s a lie, then why…” lines, both because of how it’s the part of the song where the singer sounds most like Himiko, (especially the last one) and how the meaning shifts between each one to express Himiko’s belief in a false existence, and how it drives her forwards.
Himiko is one of my favorite V3 characters, and this song is fantastic for her. Well done!
Himiko's song was more emotionally impactful than I was expecting! I knew all these parts about her character, but this song framed it in a way that actually made her resonate with me for the first time. Amazing job!
I love Himiko! Over the years, my opinion of V3 hasn't stayed great, but it has its shining moments and I feel like you put a lot of love into showcasing one of them. I really like how this song emphasizes himikos depression in the first half as I feel that's an overlooked part of her character. Also, Himiko missing Tenko only after she lost her is so sad

I also really like how haunting the segment where Angie and tenko die is. The cuts of silence REALLY sell it, especially right after the "Poke me HUG ME" section, it's so sad
Also the "all I hear are HI ya and amen" is so sweet! I also really like how himiko is still kind of struggling with depression at the end while she's making steps to improve: "If it's a lie how come their light lets me to live this lonely life?"
AAAAAAAHH I LOVE THIS SONG!!! IT PERFECTLY CAPTURES HIMIKO’S CHARACTER! I loved this part 2:33 because the way it progresses and Himiko sounds more panicked as it goes on, and then when the instrumentals stop when it shows Tenko’s death, it so good! And THE KEY CHANGESSSS I loved when they key changes because it adds more to the song, and at 2:49 with the key change and tempo change it makes it sound like Himiko is just completely in despair, and the key makes the song have a sadder tone, and then it progresses and the key change here 3:16 is amazing because Himiko wants to keep living and with the key change it makes it have a happier tone. The way the tempos, keys, and instrumentals were used is amazing and I love this! Even if I didn’t know anything about danganronpa or Himiko, and couldn’t understand the lyrics, I’d still be able to assume that those parts take on happier and sadder tones because of the way the keys change, and I love when music does that instead of leaving the key change for last and sometimes it doesn’t really add anything to the music, but the is amazing! And that’s not even mentioning the lyrics, it perfectly captures Himiko’s character with the mentions of Angie, Atua, Tenko, and of course magic, AND THE NYEHS! And just with the first few words “the sky is going gray, and not in its usual mundane way” aaaaaaah I love that lyric! And at 0:36 I love this parttt I can’t even explain why just aaaaa it’s perfect to Himiko! And at the first chorus it’s like Himiko is trying to stay positive in the killing game but you could still hear that she’s till sad in the certain parts ( 1:10 ), and then when she meets Angie and believes in Atua, and believes that they’ll get out of the killing game, only to see that Angie was killed, and she kind of doubts Angie but still misses her 2:12, and then the whole part after Tenko’s death AAAAH I love it, and the last chorus is AMAZINGGGGGG!
TLDR: I love this song, the use of key changes, tempos, and the lyrics, is perfect to Himiko and it’s my favorite song
(Also I kinda got a little carried away with this comment (I’ve been writing it since I finished watching the premiere so it’s being put 40 minutes after it premiered lol), but that’s just my autistic brain getting obsessed over a song about one of my favorite characters and franchises lol. I like how straight forward the lyrics are compared to songs like Kokichis, Shuichis, and Nagitos. Kinda great representation in its lyrics cause instead of mainly focusing on them (himiko) as a person, it mainly focused on her world view changing to something wider. I also like how it explained how she was annoyed with Tenko *until* she died and realized how special she was and the fact she just died to help Himiko talk to Angie. Also the melody changing was kinda cool to me cause it represents the emotional Rollercoaster that Himiko went on during the whole game (minus chap 4-5 since it didn't really focus on it.) Something they kinda didn't add that I wished they did was himikos reaction to her only friend left as the mastermind, though I understand that'd be difficult to add since the song mainly focused on Himikos importance during chapter 3 and since that was a LOT, it would make the song needlessly long. Anyway my personal thoughts about the song itself, I like the melody and it's matches Himiko's childish-yet-lazy personality turning into a more confident one. To me personally, it's not their best, but DEFINITELY not their worst, since it perfectly shows Himikos personality. If you don't like it, that's okay too! It doesn't use the melody like Maki but I kinda think that on purpose to show how Maki had a very slow growth only to the person who helped her to be ripped from her suddenly. Himiko didn't care too much until the people that cared about her died and she realized the severity of the situation and realized the only people that cared about her are now dead because they wanted to help her.
Thank you so much for the feedback!!! Yeah, one of the things you have to be mindful of when summarizing a character in a song is which parts should get focus and which parts don't fit. It would've been hard to fit in chapter 6 stuff since the song already had Himiko overcoming her friends death, so going from "They're death broke me" to "I'm moving forwards from their death!" to "another death/situation broke me" to "I'm moving forwards from that as well!" just wasn't gonna work in the structure of the song since the first "moving forwards" was the final chorus. And I agree that this one isn't my best (I still like Lucky Me a lot more personally) but I'm glad it fit her character at least! :)

I really like how the final "hey" when himiko discovered tenko's body is the first time she sings in a higher octave, showing this is the first time she really started to care, and it's the event that causes her to become a better person

oh stars this has got to be one of my favorites of your songs,, i had never really paid much attention to himiko before, but this gave me a whole new appreciation! himiko’s emotions are conveyed really well and i always end up cheering for himiko every time i listen! she’s now easily one of my favorite characters and i would like to thank you for that and for how well you depicted her character development throughout the game

I was thinking it with the trailer, but honestly this might be the most accurate voice casting. She doesn't ALWAYS sound JUST like the voice actor... But also that is higher than my standard which is "Sounds somewhat like the character" and sometimes Una just literally sounds like Himiko. Just wow. And like, the emotional part gave me literal chills too, so well articulated and composed. This is so very good, thank you!

Chapter 1 : Despite feeling lazy , she went with Kaitos plan to end the killing game .
Chapter 2 : If Himiko didn't announce her magic show , then Kirumi wouldn't have left so many clues .
Chapter 3 : Shuichi and Maki only found Angies bloodstain because Himiko picked the middle room .
Chapter 4 : Himiko was suspicious of Mius "plan" and we know how that turned out .
Chapter 5 : If Himiko didn't bring the crossbow to Kaito , then Kaito wouldn't have confronted Kokichi , meaning Maki could have successfully killed Kokichi which then make her get excecuted and then Kaito would have died for nothing .
Chapter 6 : She helped Shuichi at Rantaros Lab and willingly risked her life to find the mastermind and managed to find the secret passageway .
This whole time , Himiko was beeing helpful and yet people see her as useless...

While not being my favorite fan song from you, it's definitly the best. I'm in LOVE with the rythm, the pauses, the story telling, this song is the best representation of her entire character. Even the chorus that is barely changing doesn't give off the same feeling depending the part of the song, and what you did with uta's voice is incredible. Amazing song !
