    Thank you for sharing your tips. I learned so much and I have been fussy cutting for a long time and always had trouble. Now I know how, thanks to you. Love your designs and your approach to demonstrating the "how to's". 🤗

    One nice thing about Friscars is they stand behind their products. I have the spring loaded scissors and they replaced them when the spring broke. No issues. I love Friscars.

    I see what I've been doing wrong. I use nothing but scissors and I'm not keeping the blades in the correct position. I'm also trying to cut everything in one continuous cut. Time to get my xacto knife out. I will buy a bottle of Liquitex too! TFS 💕💕💕

    Can one also use Podge instead of the gel medium?

    I use an Exacto knife for cutting out, like the handles on cups. I never thought about using it around the outside of the image...like around leaves to get a better cut. I think I may order the knife you have. My Exacto blade will not always stay in place, and I have to keep tightening it. I also, have a finger blade, which I don't mind using at times.
    Thanks for the great tips!
    Have a great week!
    Hugs 🩷 Suzy

    Wonderful tips! I use an exacto knife. It’s very sharp, but doesn’t seem to turn or move around lines very well. The one you have seems to take turns a little easier. Do you find that’s the case? Thinking I need to invest in a new one, as I have not been doing well with the exaxto. Could just be me 😂. Thanks for sharing this great information! 🤗❤️ Tamara

    Interested in how you would cut around butterfly antennas, bugs legs, and whiskers...or do you draw items on ???

      I use a knife to cut around butterfly antennas or if the graphic is really small, I cut them off. :)

      Diane, I'm showing my age here, but when I started working in professional studios in the 80's, we used knives for everything. That was long before computers and cutting machines - lol. It's still my go-to for precision cutting. Hope you have a good experience with it too ♥

    Great tips, definitely getting the scissors. I am a danger with a knife so I use a swivel finger blade for those little bits. Also great idea to use the matte gel medium, going to try it now. Thanks for sharing with us.

      Lynn, the swivel finger blades are great too. I hope you find the scissors to be as comfortable as I do. Have fun sweetie ♥

    Great tips. I try to do as many as I can with my cricut but sometimes I like to cut them out by hand, I just can't do many that way, I don't have arthritis but something else causes my fingers to stiffen and are painful. So I love the individual images you include. The ones that are many on a sheet sometimes give me trouble because alot of your images on the edges have white or so close to white that the cutting machine software erases whole sections. It would be really nice if you put an offset around those images in an ivory or super light beige.. any color besides white would clearly differentiate the white background for the cutting machines. Just a thought for you to consider, I know your designs take so much time and love ❤️ I appreciate them all whether you do or don't include an offset. Thank you for all you do! I really love your work.

    I'm so happy you did this. Fussy cutting is like stamping on glossy paper - we just don't get along most times! I'm definitely going to get the scissors and the matte gel. I didn't know about either. I use TS scissors and Fiskars knife. Looking forward to trying a new technique! TFS 💕💕💕

    How often do you change the knife blade? They seemed pretty sharp.

    • @ShabbyArtBoutique
      @ShabbyArtBoutique  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's dependent on whether I've been cutting paper or card Ada, but you can definitely tell when you need to change the blade, as the blade will start to drag and catch when it is blunt. I'd say on average that I change the blade every 6 - 8 weeks, but it is of course dependent on the quantity of crafting that you do. The blades are sharp and super flexible.
