    It is possible, after removing the pump, to open it and check the pressure at the turbine outlet. I explain it in this video: th-cam.com/video/EwlFbqw0ul4/w-d-xo.html

    My motor is working just fine but I believe I have a leak in one of the lines, how do I remove each hose separately? I don’t want to accidentally break them, do I need to squeeze anything and pull it out? Or do I need a special tool?

    Thank you for video very helpful, question if seems like my fuse you talk about keeps blowing ( Short) would this pump cause this problem?

    • @IfixmyBenz
      @IfixmyBenz  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello ! Yes ! When the pump rotor is broken it usually prevents the motor from running and the fuse blows immediately when you put a new one in. This is the most common failure (see this video: th-cam.com/video/EwlFbqw0ul4/w-d-xo.html).
      However, you may have a short circuit somewhere or a blown motor and this would also blow the fuse, but this is much rarer because this pump is designed to electronically stop a function when the motor runs too long to prevent it from blowing.

    I have a 2002 Mercedes S55 AMG with 170K miles. After I replace my suspension and PSE pump does the dealer need to re flash it with their software? Thanks

    • @IfixmyBenz
      @IfixmyBenz  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, the installation of a new PSE pump requires programming.
      And just to clarify, the PSE pump is independent of the suspension. 😉

  • @vornamenachname5589
    @vornamenachname5589 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    This is a very good step-by-step tutorial.
    But PSE stands not for Pneumatic System Equipment. Its short for the german phrase "Pneumatische SteuerEinheit" which means "pneumatic control unit".

    Is there any coding or software work needed to make sure the car recognizes the new pump? Or will it work right away when mounted?

    • @IfixmyBenz
      @IfixmyBenz  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you install a brand new pump, programming using STAR is necessary after installation according to the vehicle options !
      If you install a used pump, you must ensure that it comes from a vehicle identical to yours if you do not want to have to reprogram it.
      If you reinstall YOUR pump after repair, no programming is necessary. It's just plug-and-play !

      @@IfixmyBenz If I replace a used pump MOTOR ONLY from different model and solder to original PCB do I still need programming?

    • @IfixmyBenz
      @IfixmyBenz  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@MagmaMorph, If you replace only the motor, no programming is necessary. However, be careful to use an identical motor because the output air flow rate must remain exactly the same. Indeed, the pump uses the operating time of the motor to detect a system malfunction.

    Hi, my s320's battery is flat so cannot open the boot. The metal key does not work either, I don't know why.
    I suspect it could be the vaccum funciton pulling the boot shut, thats why I came here to find the location of the PSE pump.
    THen I see that the PSE pump is in the boot... that I can't get into..... lol
    Any ideas what I can do?
    I've looked at trying to find a way to jump the battery or give it enough juice for the remote key or button release to unlock the boot but I've tried few methods that don;'t match what I see for my s320 e.g. the passenger foot panel doens't have a cable that some models have to allow a jump.
    Note: your video is very high quality and can see all the bits clearly and informative

    • @IfixmyBenz
      @IfixmyBenz  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi ! The use of jumper cables under the passenger foot panel was indeed a good idea. Anyway, you should be able to get by with the metal key. However, its use is a bit confusing... It can be inserted both ways but only one way works ! Furthermore, once inserted the right way, it can be turned both ways, but only one way will open the trunk ! I suggest you look carefully at the direction I insert the metal key and the direction I turn it in the video. 😉

    • @IfixmyBenz
      @IfixmyBenz  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@duge4268 The lock or the mechanical opening mechanism is probably a bit seized up. This can happen after a few years, because the metal key is hardly ever used.
      First check whether the push-button is not already blocked, pressed upwards, before the metal key is inserted. This sometimes happens.
      Then lubricate the lock with WD40 using the small hose supplied. Then insert and turn the key several times.
      If it still doesn't work, I would try removing the license plate light to see if it is possible to lubricate the mechanical opening mechanism by passing the WD40 hose. I've never done this but it might be worth a try. The mechanical opening mechanism operates a long metal rod connected to the trunk latch located below. Good luck ! 🤞
