Great video of referees. I believe this is probably the best video I've seen promoting referees and sports officials in the last 20 years. Thank you for doing this to promote the sport of wrestling and the great need of more trained officials. Another job well done.
Is the shortage of officials just in your area or all over the country? I love the sport, enjoy watching the matches, but got into it later in life and never had a chance to compete. Do you think I could be an official with enough training? THere’s probably some BJJ guys that would be interested as well if word got out that there is an officiating crisis.
Thank you for asking. It is all over the country. The most important thing is passion for the sport; anyone who is passionate enough can learn to become a skilled official even without wrestling experience.
