Following the publication of Vance's match from the 34th Annual Al Dvorak Invitational Individual Wrestling Tournament at Harlem High School in Machesney Park, Illinois, I received a number of requests for additional matches featuring Williams, and so by popular demand, I am pulling forward a backlogged match ahead of the regular schedule.
He’s such a fire-cracker! So damn swift and focused. Certainly seems to be one to watch as he’s obviously already a force to be reckoned with. On a side-note, that singlet is probably the best color combo I’ve seen to date, really dig it.
Eventually, yes, but none are imminent. As always, that could change if I get a lot of requests from subscribers asking me to prioritize them ahead of the regular schedule.
Is he wearing that ear protector wrong? Position of the chin strap looks wrong. The strap lengths look misadjusted... and IDK if he intentionally wears the top straps like a headband or not.
Since the usual colored ankle bands are not worn in this video (i.e. {G} for green and {R} for red), the most reliable alternative is to watch and see whose hand is raised by the referee at the end, and compare that with the name of the winner in the video description.
Not a dumb question at all. This match was part of a dual meet where two teams compete head-to-head, one weight class at a time from 106 lb to 285 lb. Since each team keeps the same color throughout the meet, it is commonplace not to use ankle bands in order to keep the event moving along efficiently by avoiding unnecessary delays in between matches. When ankle bands are not used, it is generally safe to assume that the singlet color most closely resembling red will be assigned red (red and blue in this case), and that the singlet color most closely resembling green will be assigned green (black and yellow in this case). Personally, I would have chosen to reverse the color assignments here since the red is minimal and in my mind blue more closely resembles green, and yellow more closely resembles red.
I have never watched wrestling before. I hate boxing, but this is different. This looks as if it might be good for the physical development of the opponents.
A friend of mine, who did wresting professionally, injured the back quite badly. So this sport also carries some health risks, though definitely no so cruel as boxing
I did film other matches at other weights but it would have been impossible for me to film the whole event since I am one individual with one camera and there were four separate mats with matches happening simultaneously.
Afraid not, sorry. I just checked my files and it turns out that after this match I switched to a different mat to begin filming a different set of teams.
So weird seeing matches nowadays where no headgear is being worn. I'm glad they're wearing them here. Guys look so gross when they get older with that "cauliflower ear" from years of wrestling without protection.
Actually, stockier wrestlers are usually better. Being longer but same weight means muscle is distributed more sparsely, making it easier to leverage against a taller opponent. Also, more compact = more strength at the core in most cases.
Welcome to the channel. Q. What do {G} and {R} in the video title mean? A. They refer to the green and red ankle bands which the wrestlers wear, and the wristbands which the referee wears, that are used for scoring purposes. Q. Who won the match? A. Those details can be found in the description for each video. @@MidwestWrestle : Thanks for the color explanation. I'm used to seeing other games (like soccer and basketball) and the teams are usually identified on the screen's score board with the color worn by each team.

Of all the YT wrestling channels, MW you're the best.🥇
What weight division
@@iantodd9271 The numbers at the beginning of each video title refers to the weight class.
He is the kind of wrestler people want to see more of. He is relentless.
Thanks!
Thank you for the generous support!
@@MidwestWrestle I really appreciate your commitment and the high quality work you do!. Thank you!.
Danke!
Thank you!
Probably your best upload
Williams is long and he is lean, and he makes those qualities do all the work for him... seemingly effortlessly.
Amazing!! 👏
A tough kid for sure. More matches with him, please.

Incredible
That David - Awesomely a STAR🎉
I've always envied the strength and technique of wrestlers!
Beautiful! The best match so far!
Poor guy’s head gear is choking his eyes the entire time. How did they not find him one that fit better?
Really good game for both 👏👏
anymore matches of Merian Central coming up?
Eventually, yes, but none are imminent. As always, that could change if I get a lot of requests from subscribers asking me to prioritize them ahead of the regular schedule.
Yeah, some just got handled and owned! That was fantastic and just such a great display to technique and discipline on the fly
Looks painful too. Surely bruises will appear the next day even with those gears.
Thanks
Thank you again for your continued contributions!
Do you know what camera was used? Really high quality footage.
Thanks! Camera details are here: th-cam.com/users/postUgkx0bz78690XN-ungZt5nNN0eoJC2oEg1e8

hahahahaha
Muy bueno 👌🏼
How do you tell which one is which? Which one is in blue and which is in black uniform?

May be a dumb question but no ankle bands how does ref determine who’s red and who’s green?

Force , reflex, rapidité , ténacité et anticipation immédiate la lutte est un sport très sélectif .
Wow he’s good!!
I like both
Wow!
Wait . . .is that guy in the background really filling up two chairs?
two and then some spillover on each side
Do you film the whole event? Would be great to see every matchup in all weight ranges
I did film other matches at other weights but it would have been impossible for me to film the whole event since I am one individual with one camera and there were four separate mats with matches happening simultaneously.
The boy in blue is better but feel sorry for the guy in black as his head gear was all over the place.
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏 great
thanks. will the next match on this mat be uploaded?
Afraid not, sorry. I just checked my files and it turns out that after this match I switched to a different mat to begin filming a different set of teams.
The losing boy needs to buy another ear protector. It must have been disorienting for him.
So true
Is this high school? I usually watch college but this popped up
Yes, this is high school.
Very strong performance. Should try some duck unders and power half's.
Vance looks like a skinny version of Cody Christian.
Good job
Súper ágil el de azul !!!

Only passionate people win the game
Good match…!
This was from a year ago
Good
Shouldn't they be matched on height as well as weight? Being taller is a big advantage .... doesn't seem like an even match.

Owen A's dad as ref in this one too!
Actually, this is a different official. His name is David Fellinger.
@@MidwestWrestle Must be the.mask?...They could ref for each other wearing masks...who would know?
David is a great wrestler I was a wrestler in Jr high and high school
碾压级的实力啊!💪👍

the other guy struggling with the head gear going to his eyes
He doesn't look very strong, but looks are deceiving. Anyone that don't think wrestling isn't tough has never done it.
combine wrestling with ju-jitsu for extra effectiveness.
